The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the marksheet for the 65th Preliminary Examination. The examination was held on 27 December 2021. The marksheet is available on the BPSC website.
The marksheet shows the marks obtained by the candidates in each of the subjects, namely General Studies, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, History, Geography, Polity, Economics, Science, Mathematics, English, Hindi, and Optional Subject.
The marks obtained by the candidates in each of the subjects are given on a scale of 100. The minimum qualifying marks for each subject are 30. The minimum qualifying marks for the examination as a whole are 400.
The candidates who have obtained the minimum qualifying marks in each of the subjects and in the examination as a whole will be called for the Main Examination. The Main Examination will be held in two parts, namely Paper I and Paper II.
Paper I will be of two hours duration and will consist of 200 questions. Paper II will be of three hours duration and will consist of 300 questions.
The subjects for Paper I are General Studies, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, History, Geography, Polity, Economics, Science, and Mathematics. The subjects for Paper II are Optional Subject I and Optional Subject II.
The candidates will have to choose one subject from each of the groups A, B, C, and D for Paper II. The groups are as follows:
Group A: History, Political Science, and Public Administration
Group B: Economics, Sociology, and Anthropology
Group C: Geography, Psychology, and Philosophy
Group D: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry
The candidates will be awarded marks on a scale of 100 for each question in Paper I and Paper II. The minimum qualifying marks for each paper are 30. The minimum qualifying marks for the Main Examination as a whole are 600.
The candidates who have obtained the minimum qualifying marks in each paper and in the Main Examination as a whole will be called for the Interview. The Interview will be of 30 minutes duration.
The marks obtained by the candidates in the Interview will be added to the marks obtained by them in the Main Examination. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination and the Interview.
The candidates who are selected in the final merit list will be appointed to the various posts in the Bihar Government.
The BPSC 65th Preliminary Examination was a very competitive examination. A large number of candidates appeared for the examination. The cut-off marks for the examination were very high. The candidates who have qualified for the Main Examination are very lucky. They should prepare well for the Main Examination and try to secure a good rank in the final merit list.
