The Mains Syllabus of Post Office Exam 2024 is as follows:

The exam will be conducted in two stages: Preliminary and Mains. The Preliminary exam will be objective in nature and will consist of two papers: General Studies and Optional Subject. The Mains exam will be descriptive in nature and will consist of three papers: General Studies, Optional Subject, and Essay.

The syllabus for the Preliminary exam is as follows:

The exam will be conducted in English and Hindi. The medium of instruction for the Preliminary exam will be English only. The medium of instruction for the Mains exam will be English or Hindi, as per the candidate’s choice.

The marks for the Preliminary exam will be 200 and the marks for the Mains exam will be 1000. The total marks for the exam will be 1200.

The cut-off marks for the Preliminary exam will be 40% and the cut-off marks for the Mains exam will be 60%.

The candidates who qualify in the Preliminary exam will be called for the Mains exam. The candidates who qualify in the Mains exam will be called for the Personality test.

The Personality Test will be conducted for 50 marks. The marks for the Personality Test will be added to the marks obtained in the Mains exam to determine the final result.

The final result will be declared on the website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The candidates who are selected in the exam will be appointed as Post Office Assistants in the Department of Posts.
