The Maharashtra State Eligibility test (SET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Maharashtra Commission (Mpsc) for the recruitment of teachers in government and aided schools in the state of Maharashtra. The SET is conducted twice a year, in June and December.
The SET is a two-stage examination. The first stage is a written examination, which is followed by an interview. The written examination consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is a compulsory paper, while Paper II is an optional paper.

The minimum qualifying marks for the SET are 40% for General Category candidates and 35% for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Class candidates. The qualifying marks for the interview are 25%.
The selection of candidates for the SET is based on the marks obtained in the written examination and the interview. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the written examination and the interview.
