MoHUA Climate Change Awareness Campaign

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) announced to develop and launch a https://exam.pscnotes.com/Climate-change”>Climate Change Awareness Campaign and a National Photography Competition.

Both the events will be held in

Surat, Gujarat on February 4th and 5th 2022. Events will be held as a part of ministrys preparatory activities under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Both the campaign and the competition will be organised with the aim of raising concerns regarding climate change, advance climate action in cities and inform the participants of alternative approaches.

Bye-bye campaigns will be led by municipal Commissioners, top heads of Urban Local Bodies, and Smart City CEOs, in a bid to bring the attention

of young minds towards the challenges and solutions arising from Urban Climate Change and Sustainable solutions across their municipalities.

National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) 3.0

UnionEducationMinister & Skill development MinisterDharmendra Pradhan launched National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) 3.0.

NEAT 3.0 was launched as a single platform for providing the best-developed ed-tech solutions and courses to the students in India.

On the occasion, minister also launched AICTE prescribed technical books in regional languages. Learning in regional languages will help in developing critical thinking capacity as well as enable youth to become global citizens.

NEAT is an initiative for providing the use of best-developed technological solutions in educationsector for enhancing the employability of youth on a single platform for the convenience of learners. These solutions make use of for a customised and personalised experience for better learning outcomes and skill development across Niche areas.

Ayush Aahaar Pilot Project

The project was launched by AYUSH Ministry. Ayush Aahaar is a healthy diet. The ministry is to make this diet available in its canteen.

It was launched at Ayush Bhawan canteen of the ministry. The project aims to promote healthy living

through nutritious diet. The healthy diet that includes kokum drink, gajar ka halwa, bhajani vada and vegetable poha. These dishes are rich in Nutrition and are very popular among the public. Also, they are easily digestible.

The Ayush Aahaar is being launched as a test. Forms will be issued to people taking the dishes. Feedbacks are to be collected. Based on the feedback, a new diet is to be regularised. This is a precursor to promote Ayush Lifestyle. The ministry has plans to spread awareness about Ayush lifestyle.

Padhe Bharat

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the ‘Padhe Bharat’ 100-day Reading Campaign on 1 January.

Highlights:

The Padhe Bharat Campaign was launched to help students improve their academic performance.

It is a significant step toward improving Learning levels because it fosters creativity, critical thinking, vocabulary, and the ability to express oneself verbally and in writing.

It will assist children in making connections with their surroundings and real-life situations.

The campaign will cover children in Balvatika from kindergarten to eighth grade. On January 1, 2022, the Padhe Bharat campaign began.

It will take place over the course of 100 days, or 14 weeks. On April 10, 2022, it will come to an end

First Exoplanet with Magnetic Field

A team of astronomers recently discovered the signature of a on an Exoplanet using Hubble Space Telescope data.

Highlights:

The research was published in the journal Nature Astronomy. For the first time, such a feature has been discovered on an exoplanet.

The observations of an extended region of charged carbon particles are explained by the planet’s magnetic field. It forms a long tail that flows away from it.

Magnetic fields play an important role in planetary Atmosphere protection.

Thus, the ability to detect the magnetic fields of exoplanets is an important step toward a better understanding of what alien worlds might look like.

IISc experts detect radio signal from atomic hydrogen in distant galaxy

Astronomers fromIndian Institute of Science(IISc) in Bengaluru andMcGill Universityin Canada have used data from the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) in Pune to detect a radio signal originating from atomic hydrogen in an extremely distant galaxy.

The signal was emitted when the universe was only 4.9 billion

years old.

It means the look-back time for

this source is 8.8 billion years. The findings have been published in the monthly notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
The astronomical distance over which such a signal has been picked up is the largest so far by a large margin. This is also the first confirmed detection of strong lensing of 21cm emission from a galaxy.

Richest state Maharashtra is also India’s top performer

India’s richest stateMaharashtrais also the country’s best performer across financial and social indicators, according to state rankings released by credit rating company.

The rankings, released by CareEdge research arm of Care Ratings showed that Prime Minister Narendra Modis Home state Gujarat is at the second spot, with robust economic Growth and fiscal management.

Meanwhile, Indias most industrialized state Naduwas ranked third with an edge

in social and Governance categories.

Maharashtra had a composite score of 55.7 followed by Gujarat (51.8), Tamil Nadu (51.1), Telangana (50.9) and Karnataka (50.4).

In Group B (Northeast, hilly & small states), Goa topped the overall ranking and was a front-runner in social, Infrastructure, Financial Inclusion and fiscal categories.

Among the northeastern states,Sikkimwas the best performer due to better score in economic, social, infrastructure and Environment categories.

Notably, Odisha topped the rankings in the fiscal category due to better score on revenue and Fiscal Deficit and healthy Debt Management indicators (CSF & GRF).

Maharashtra topped in financial inclusion with best performance in credit/GSDP ratio, NBFC sanctions and Health Insurance penetration. It also fared relatively well in mutual fund penetration.

Punjab and Haryana topped in the infrastructure ranking, mainly due to high power availability, RAILWAY density and greater irrigated area. However, both lagged in terms of social infrastructure (hospital beds & schools), the report said.
On governance,Andhra Pradeshand Telangana were at the top due to high Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) rank and better scores in the court conviction rate.

UNSC Adopts First-ever Resolution on Myanmar

The U.N. Security Council has adopted its first ever resolution on Myanmar in 74 years todemand an end to violence and urge the military junta to release all political prisoners,including ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Ms. Kyi, 77, has been a prisoner since the armytoppled her government almost two years ago and violently cracked down on dissent.

The 15-member council has long been split on how to deal with the Myanmar crisis with Chinaand Russia arguing against strong action. They both abstained from the vote, along with India.

The remaining 12 members voted in favor.

The resolution urges the junta to immediately release all arbitrarily detained prisoners,including Suu Kyi

and ex-president Win Myint.

It also demands an immediate end to all forms of violence and asks for all parties to respect Human Rights, fundamental freedoms and the .

First Green Hydrogen Mobility Project of India

NTPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the UT of Ladakh and the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) to establish India’s first Green Hydrogen Mobility project. Leh will be the first city in India to implement a zero-emission green hydrogen mobility project. In the beginning, NTPC intends to operate 5 hydrogen buses. The first solar installations by NTPC in Leh, in the form of solar trees and a solar carport, were also unveiled.

Blue hydrogen is

hydrogen that is produced from fossil fuels and has carbon capture and storage capabilities.

Green

hydrogen is hydrogen that is produced entirely from sources. Renewable energy electricity is used to split water into hydrogen and Oxygen.
