AP Mahila Police Wing

The Andhra Pradesh recently notified rules for the Mahila Police Wing. Also, it has created a separate Women police cadre.

The uniform of the new women police is Khaki colour. The wing comprises of inspectors, sub inspectors, senior mahila police, assistant sub inspectors, mahila police personnel. Also, the women police will wear a special separate

emblem called the Mahila Police Emblem. They will also wear a beret cap.

90% of the posts are to be recruited by the police recruitment board. 5% from eligible villages and 5% from Home guards.

The inspectors and sub inspectors of the mahila wing will report to DSP and ACP respectively. DSP is Deputy Superintendent of Police and ACP is Assistant Commissioner of Police.

set a target to achieve 33% of women police force in the country. According to the Status of Policing in India report, 2019, only 7.28% of the police force are women. Women inclusion is less in police forces. Most of the women police officers are limited to in house tasks such as filing FIRs, maintaining registers, etc. Only make police officers are engaged in patrolling, investigation and other law and order duties.

Andhra Pradesh targets setting up 33GW hydro power storage plant

The Andhra Pradesh energy department is planning to set uppumped hydro storagepower projects in various districts with a total capacity of 33.24 gigawatt.

AP wins Centres nod for Srisailam ropeway

The Centre has given green signal for Srisailam-Egalapenta () ropeway project proposed by the State Government. The project will be taken up with a cost of Rs.400 crore.

Union Roadways and Surface Transport Ministry cleared the proposal on Thursday. The Centre has cleared 26 ropeway projects to be taken up in different states along with Srisailam ropeway project.

They also wanted Air India to resume all pre-pandemic flight schedules from all the airports in A.P. and suggested that Air India connect Vijayawada with Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Calcutta via Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and introduce a twice-aweek flight from Vijayawada to Varanasi to cater to the burgeoning demand.

A Chandra Sekhara Reddy, who has been recently appointed as thesenior advisorof EESL, said that the EESL distributed over 36.86 crore LED bulbs, 72.18 lakh LED tube lights and 23.59 lakh energy efficient fans across the country.

This strategic initiative by EESL is designed to support the countrys nationally determined contribution targets by encouraging widespread adoption of energy efficient fans. Andhra Pradesh turns to EVs for govt staff in e-mobility push

The Andhra Pradesh energy department is procuring 25,000 electric vehicles (EVs) for government employees.

The Convergence Energy Services Limited, a Union Government entity, signed an agreement on Tuesday with New & Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh to provide 25,000 electric two-wheelers.

The State Government has already created a separate sub-category for electric vehicles and the electricity tariff has been fixed at Rs 6.70 per unit.
