A Mumbai-based company will support theTirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) in establishing an 800KW wind mill plant at Tirumala.

The electricity consumption at Tirumala is approximately 450 lakh units annually.

While TTD manages to generate 100 lakh units of electricity from the eight existing wind mills at Tirumala, the Tirupati trust borrows 350 lakh units of power from theAndhra PradeshSouthern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) every year.

Among the existing eight wind mills at Tirumala, six were set up and operated by the Suzlon group, while two other wind turbines were set up

and operated by the Enercon group.

Now Mumbai-based company Vish Wind LLP, has come forward to commission, operate and handover a new wind turbine to the TTD by spending Rs 5 crore.
According to the Tirupati trust, the new wind turbine proposed to be set up by the company, will help in generating 18 lakh units of power every year.

The has recently brought 13 more mandals in Visakhapatnam district and Merakamudidam Mandal in Vizianagaram into VMRDA limits, increasing the extent to 7,328 square kilometres. However, the master plan is yet to be prepared for the recently merged mandals, spanning about 2,455 square kilometres.

The existing land use in the core urban areas will undergo urban regeneration and transformation, whereas the peripheral areas of Growth are delineated based on demand and future projections for the horizon year 2041. The total developed area as of 2019 in the VMRDA is 963 sq. km, which is

around 15% of the total area of the VMR.

The master plan envisages locating the majority of large industries south of dolphin hills in the existing industrial zone. The cleaner and resource-based white industries can be distributed in other parts of the region. As a whole, 177 square kilometres industrial areas

are proposed to be developed in the plan. In principle, white industries are proposed in Vizianagaram.

As per the master plan, mixed use is more advantageous as the area can be developed for multiple compatible purposes with economic importance. The master plan envisages approximately 77 sq. km of mixed-use development, which is approximately 1.2% area of the VMR and approximately 4% of the developed areas in VMR.

Endowments department is focused on reconstructing 3,000 temples across the state on priority this year, for which the government has sanctioned 10 lakh for eachtemple.

Endowments minister Kottu Satyanarayana said 2,640 temples are already identified and

will soon get 10 lakh each for their reconstruction. Reconstruction of another 1,568 temples are in the proposal state and Sri Vani trust of Triumala has given in principle approvals for this, he added.

He said the government is working on streamlining the land of Srisailam Devasthanams. “The revenue

and forest departments have already demarcated the area and fencing work will start soon to separate temple land from forest land. The Srisailam temple will now have 4,700 acres of land,” the minister said.

Andhra Pradeshreported 615 new Covid-19 cases recently, taking the cumulative caseload to 23,13,827. The toll increased to 14,702 as four more patients

succumbed to the pandemic. One patient each died in Chittoor,Guntur,KrishnaandWest Godavaridistricts.

As many as 2,787 patients were declared cured. There are 12,550 active cases with 22,86,575 cumulative recoveries and 14,702 fatalities. From the peak of 1.16 lakh active cases on January 30, the active caseload has dropped to this range in just a fortnight.
The case positivity rate further dropped to 2.8% as the new cases were detected through tests conducted on 22,267 people.
