Restoration of the inundated 132kv sub-stations gets the top priority among the goals theAP Transcohas set for itself in bringing normalcy to the flood-hit southern districts of the state.
With state energy minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy and AP Transco chairman and managing director N Srikanth constantly reviewing the situation, a team rushed to the districts to assess the damage as well as to illuminate the flood-ravaged areas.

As water entered the 220kv sub-station in Kadapa, it was decided to shut down

the 132kv Vontimitta feeder and 160MVA power transformer, switch off the 220kv Renigunta CK Palli Rajampet DC line due to technical snag. Similarly, the rise of water in Peruru and Thummalagunta water bodies abutting Tirupati forced the authorities to shut down the 132kv sub-station, for which alternate supply is arranged from Alipiri and Renigunta sub-stations. Praveen Kumar said supply to the railways had been accorded top priority from Kavali and Gudur in Nellore district.

The AP government has decided to hand over all its projects on Krishna river to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) provided state also follows suit.

The government issued orders in accordance with the decision of the 15th special board meeting of the KRMB. The meeting was held in Hyderabad on July 15, following the central government issuing a gazette delegating all projects on the river to the KRMB. The decision was taken by the central government as both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states are fighting over sharing of the river water.

The two power houses, which were kept with Andhra Pradesh at the time of bifurcation in 2014, would now go to the KRMB, for operation. The power houses on the left bank at Srisailam and the left canal at Nagarjuna Sagar were given to the Telangana state.

In line with Indias nationally determined contributions (NDC) submitted under the Paris Agreement, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency is gearing up to prepare an action plan for 2021-30 to meet its NDC commitments with the support of states.

The AP State Energy Conservation Mission, the state designated agency of BEE, has come forward to support the efforts ofBEEin its endeavour to have clean by reducing emissions as per the International Conventions like Paris Agreement.

The BEE has urged state governments to aggressively promote energy efficiency and conservation to achieve comprehensive development. As part of this, the BEE held a stakeholders consultation meeting through a webinar to discuss on enhancing energy efficiency in key sectors, including Industry, MSMEs, buildings, electric appliances, transport, etc.

The BEE estimated that its activities related to energy efficiency and conservation would result in a reduction of 557 million tonnes of Co2 per annum by 2030. It also estimated that the energy-saving Investment potential of the country would be around Rs 10.02 lakh crore by 2031 under the moderate
