Punjab Govt to hold Pind-Sarkar Milnis for villages holistic development

The Chief Minister said that thesemilniswill be organized twice a week in the Malwa region of the State, and once in a week in Doaba and Majha regions. This will help in resolution of pity issues of the villages that are pending at the level of the officers and have been hitherto not resolved. The Government will also solicit views of the panchayats that have taken path breaking initiatives to develop their villages on scientific lines, he said.

Envisioning that like Kisan-Sarkar milni this scheme will go a long way in transforming the villages of the state into development hubs, Mann said that Kisan-Sarkar Milni had already proved useful for resolving the issues faced by the states farmers. Village-Sarkaar Milni will go a long way in further ensuring holistic development of the villages, he added.

Karnal: Farmers adopt improved basmati varieties for better yield, higher income

Farmers of the region have started adopting new farmer-friendly basmati varieties developed by the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture“>Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) last year. According to the experts, these have high-yielding capacity and in-built resistance to blast and blight diseases.

The growers prefer Pusa Basmati varieties -1847, 1885 and 1886, which are improved versions of the varieties -1509, 1121 and PB-6, respectively. These also account for around 90 per cent of the countrys basmati rice exports.

Shoolini University ranked 3rd in India

Shoolini University has clinched the third place in the country in the fresh Times Higher Education (THE) university rankings, which just recently came out. The university has also been ranked 77th in all of Asia.

The hallowed Indian Institute of Science-Bangalore has managed to cling to the top position in the country while the JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research-Mysore has secured the second place in the country. It may be noted that out of over 10,000 universities across Asia, only 928 of the institutions were ranked.

State’s 1st fecal slush treatment plant to start functioning in July

The state’s firstfecal slush treatment plant, established in theUS Nagar districtheadquarters,Rudrapur, will start functioning in July this year.

With a capacity of 125 KLD (kiloliters per day), the central government has assigned Rupees 6.89 crores for the construction of the plant. Around 90 percent of the project has already been completed, with an anticipated commencement in July. Once completed, the plant will yield numerous environmental benefits, safeguard the city from pollution and prevent underground water contamination

Smart City to convert smart classrooms into study centres in 19 schools

As lakhs of young aspirants make Sangam city their Home while preparing for different competitive exams, authorities ofSmart CityProject, Prayagraj plan to convert thesmartclass rooms in 19 schools of the city into study centres for them.

The Smart City Project proposed to accommodate the young aspirants in the smart classrooms after school hours at a nominal monthly fee of Rs 300. Presently, these aspirants are coughing out between Rs 800 and Rs 1,500 for such a facility.

The Smart City Mission has converted a total of 295 classrooms in 19 schools of the city into smart classrooms.

As per the proposed plan, the aspirants will be provided with low-cost study centres, wherein all the amenities will be provided that they get by paying hefty amounts to private players in the market. There are around 200 such privately owned study centres in the city.

A large number of children have shown interest for enrollment in schools of excellence. In this era of Inflation, the state government is determined to provide quality education to the children of Jharkhand on the lines of private schools. The CM said that the state government is renovating the hostels of poor children. With a better change, arrangements are being made in the hostels. Now the state government will supply cooks as well as coarse grains to the hostels so that children do not need to bring coarse grains from Home. He said that our government is now making the teachers working in the schools only work for the education of the children. Apart from TEACHING, teachers are not being engaged in any other work.

The CM said that the country gets maximum revenue collection from the mineral wealth of Jharkhand. Still our state is counted in the category of backward states. Despite having sufficient mineral wealth, there is a situation of displacement in the state. In addition to mineral wealth, our government has worked in many such areas on which it is working to increase the means of employment by preparing a better action plan. Apart from mineral Resources, the government is making a roadmap of what should be the direction of the state in the field of employment. The possibilities of tourism in the state are limitless. In the coming time, the state government is working on expanding all the sectors of tourism and making it the main means of employment generation. Hotels like Hotel Taj will be built in the state.

Science college lab gets Centres project

he Environment and Biotechnology laboratory (EBL) ofPatna Science College, which has already made some commendable work in the field of bioremediation ofarseniccontamination in drinking water, has been sanctioned a fresh research project from the department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

The science and engineering research board (SERB) of DST has acknowledged the work of EBL in the field of arsenic removal and asked its research team, headed by Shardendu, to carry out a detailed study on the role of bacteria in detoxifying arsenic in the edible Plants ofBihar. The EBL will get full financial and technological support from the DST. Kumari Tripti and Kumari Mini are the other members of the team.

The World Bank has approved Rs 2,460 crore to improve quality of education and infrastructure in the schools of Chhattisgarh and to encourage science and commerce education at the higher secondary level.

The fund would be utilized to augment facilities in Swami Atmanand English and Hindi medium Schools which have opened in the state to provide quality Education to the students of underprivileged communities, the communiqu said.

In the same bid, the Chhattisgarh Accelerated Learning for a Knowledge economy Operation (CHALK) project has been commenced to improve education across all grades and to address the growing demand for science and commerce studies at the senior secondary level.

Under this project, residential facilities for students and teachers will be provided for the schools situated in remote locations.

The project will help develop and operate about 600 model schools from Class 1 to 12 and encourage science and commerce education at the secondary level.

Logistic movement up 20% in Indore

Gujarat loses over Rs 1 crore every day to cyber fraud

Every day, citizens in the state collectively lose Rs 1 crore to Rs 1. 2 crore to online financial fraud, according to the cybercell ofGujaratCID crime. Most of these co mplaints are pertaining to victims falling prey to sextortion rackets and cyberbullying related to instant loan apps.

The complaints are largely from four major cities of the state including Ahmedabad. This startling fact was revealed by officials of the cybercell of the Gujarat, CID crime, at the Hacked session held atSurya Emeraldresidential Society on Iscon-Ambli Road.

The sessionwas organized by The Times of India and Gujarat CID (crime) to make societies more aware of cybercrime and its prevention. The cops revealed that, every day, they receive about 1,200 calls on the cybercrime helpline 1930. Of these around 250 calls are related to financial frauds.

National highway network grew 59% in 9 years: Union minister Gadkari

Indias national highway (NH) Network has increased by 59% in the past nine years to touch 1. 49 lakh km and nearly one-third of the NHs are four lane or more compared to 20% in 2014, Unionroad transportand highways minister Nitin Gadkari said on Tuesday. The government also has set the target not to have a single NH that is less than two lanes by 2030.

The government said the high pace of road construction, including the NHs, in the past nine years has put India in position to have the second largest road network after the United States. The current road network of India isaround 64 lakh km, which includes NHs, state highways, municipal and rural roads, both paved and unpaved.

As per the governments Basic Road Statistics report of 2018-19, India has a road network of 63. 32 lakh km on March 31, 2019, which was the second largest in the world after the US (66. 46 lakh km). Sources said the government is working on the plan to expand the NH network to 1. 85 lakh km by 2030 and 2. 37 lakh km by 2047 and the target is to see that nearly two-third of the NH network is four lane and above for faster movement of peopleand cargo.
