Ltd (KFON) is an initiative of Kerala government, launched with the aim of eliminating the digital gap in state. According to government, created under this project will complement current telecom ecosystem in Kerala.

KFON has been kickstarted with the basic principle of non -discriminatory treatment. Thus, no service provider or business segment will receive preferential treatment, in line with recommendations of Telecom Regulatory Authority ofIndia(TRAI). Any internet provider, at any level of business segment are free to use KFON network for bridging the connectivity gaps at their core networks.

Karnataka: Coconut coop unit plans Rs 4.5 crore expansion, seeks funds

The coconut processing centre set up by a cooperative Society at Munachanahalli in Chamarajanagar taluk will soon be extended at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore. A decision to this effect was taken by the board of directors of the unit at the recently held general meeting.

The unit, which has a capacity of processing 50,000 coconuts per day, provides jobs to around 250 people. Local growers formed a cooperative association and established this processing unit under Chamarajanagar Coconut Growers Association 20 years ago. More than 13,000 farmers of the district are cultivating coconut on 26,000 hectares

In order to ascertain the Unemployment rate in Goa, the government has commenced a survey to find out how manyGoansand non-Goans have been employed in various sectors in the state.

The survey, which is expected to go on for a month, is being carried out by officials of the department of labour and EMPLOYMENT, who will visit industries, hotels, showrooms, supermarkets, general stores, pharmacies, garment stores, hospitals, clinics, and even kiosks.
