In 2019, RBI had accepted authorized card charge networks to provide card tokenization offerings to any token requestor (i.e., third-party app provider) thru mobile phones and tablets. Now RBI has prolonged the scope of tokenization to include purchaser devices laptops, desktops, wearables (wristwatches, bands, etc.), Internet of Things (IoT) devices, etc.
The permission for tokenization extends to a number channels [e.g., Near Field Communication (NFC) / Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) primarily based contactless transactions, in-app payments, QR code-based payments, etc.] or token storage mechanisms (cloud, impenetrable element, trusted execution Environment, etc. The ultimate duty for the card tokenization offerings rendered rests with the licensed card networks.
Tokenization refers to the replacement of true card important points with a unique alternate code referred to as the token, which shall be special for a combination of card, token requestor, and device (referred hereafter as identified device).
It was launched by Union AYUSH minister, Sarbananda Sonowal.
On the occasion, several bouquets of activities and campaigns was launched by Ministry of Ayush to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Apart from Y-Break App, a year-long campaigns like cultivation of medicinal Plants in farmland, distribution of medicinal plants to households and sensitisation of School & College going students on Ayush systems were launched.
This week-long activities & campaigns will start from August 30 to September 5.
These activities will be launched with the aim of reaching to remote areas in India and address all categories of our Population viz., children, old people, farmers and corporate.
Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is a series of events being organised to commemorate the 75thAnniversary of Indias Independence. Events are being organised by government of India and it will be celebrated as a Jan-Utsav in the spirit of Jan-Bhagidari.
