Special structural engineering panel formed for residential properties in Haryana

Haryana has formed a special structural engineering committee to deal with the structural issues of residential properties.

This was stated by Chief Secretary at the inaugural function of the two-day Urban Development Conclave in Gurugram today.

He said the was working on a mechanism to assure allottees about the quality of the construction. He said, We are living in the era of regulation in which the NGT, Supreme Court and RERA etc have given many provisions on subjects like Environment and urban development. Gurugram and Faridabad are important cities falling in the NCR of Haryana State, in which the issues of Urbanisation need to be resolved.

He said issues related to urbanisation, ensuring quality of construction, electricity, drinking water supply and transportation were important.

Solan varsity signs MoU to promote research

Solan-based Shoolini University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), Spain, to encourage exchange programmes between the two universities.

The agreement aims at laying the groundwork for mutual cooperation between the two universities, including exchange of doctoral students and faculty members from both institutions.

Both institutions will encourage more contact and collaboration among their faculty and research members in order to lay a solid foundation for the development of joint training programmes and research projects besides the exchange of TEACHING material.

The Autonomous University of Madrid is a public university that combines quality teaching, intensive research and high job placement with a strong social commitment and is a global benchmark in these areas, according to various global indicators. For the second year in a row, the UAM is ranked among the top 200 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2021.

Health Dept comes up with plan to maintain buildings

The State Health Department has come up with a resolution for maintenance, monitoring, operation, management and repairing of various buildings across the State. The step will enable the department to ensure annual and periodical maintenance of buildings including medical colleges and hospitals, sadar hospitals, regional health centres, sub divisional centres, CHCs, PHCs and others.

According to the resolution the buildings have been divided in three categories A, B and C. The concerned Civil Surgeon will undertake maintenance and operation of buildings under him/her through or local arrangement. Even the colours of buildings of different categories have been decided.

The Civil Surgeon of a particular district has been entrusted will responsibility to ensure repair and maintenance of buildings belonging to all three categories in every five depending upon the status of such buildings with the funds provided by the department.

Also, the land under different health centres and establishment of each district will be registered in the district land assets register and will be updated every year. The concerned Civil Surgeon has been given responsibility for the same.

The department has also set up a maximum funds limit for various categories of buildings to be repaired/maintained annually and periodically (5 years).

Agri boost: CG set to get its first food irradiation plant

Chhattisgarhis set to get its first food irradiation plant which will help in keeping food grains, vegetables and minor forest produce safe, fresh and quality for a long period of time. Two MoUs were signed to strengthen the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and rural economy in the state.

An MoU has been signed with the Chhattisgarh Bio-Fuel Development Authority for the transfer of Nisarguna a modern technology of power generation from cow dung from Bhabha Atomic Research Center (Barc),Trombay, Mumbai. Plants will be set up in Gauthans to produce electricity and bio-fuel from cow dung and agricultural waste. Women of self-help groups will generate electricity from the cow dung being purchased in the Gauthans of the state.

The second MoU is for the establishment of Food Irradiation Center in Chhattisgarh. The inked MoUs with Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology (BRIT), Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and the Chhattisgarh State Seed AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT Corporation.

As per officials of Chhattisgarh government, irradiation is a technique used in food production, used to kill bacteria that cause food poisoning and helps to preserve food and reduce food waste.

Upgrade: DAVV to send Rs 330 crore proposals to govt

Devi AhilyaVishwavidyalaya(DAVV) has prepared various proposals of over Rs 330 crore for upgradation of the varsity which will be sent to and Directorate of Higher Education (DHE).

The varsity has prepared the proposals of over Rs 200 crore for Centre of Excellence (CoE) for 22University TEACHING Departments(UTDs). Separate proposals of Rs 130 crore for centralized facilities are also being sent which includes a lot of Infrastructure related facilities.

Other centralized facilities include one for instruments that will have all scientific measurements too and it will be accessible for all. As evaluation centre and confidential department are in two different campuses which at times delays the process, DAVV has proposed for a new building for Centralized evaluation facility.

State has biggest dialysis network

State Health ministerRushikesh Patellaunched 31 dialysis centres under theGujaratDialysis Programme. The programme is run by the Institute of Kidney

Diseases & Research Centre (IKDRC), and has some 500 technicians and experts.

A few other states do have dialysis centre networks, but most run onPPPmodel, he said, adding that Gujarat is perhaps the first in the country to introduce single-use dialyzer and blood tubing for every patient.

Rajasthan govt announces Rs 10 crore budget to promote cattle rearing

Faced with a declining number of camels in Rajasthan, the has announced a ‘Camel Protection and Development Policy’ in its budget 2022-23.Camelis the state animal ofRajasthanand their number is continuously decreasing.

The demand for camel protection in the state has been rising for a long time.
Considering this, chief ministerAshok Gehlotproposed a budget of Rs 10 crore in the next financial year under the new policy for rearing, protection, and overall development of the state animal.

According to the government figures, there are now less than two lakh camels left in the state, while the number of camels in the entire country has reduced by 1.5 lakh since 2012.
There were about 2.5 lakh camels left when counted last in 2019.

According to the data released by the centre in the Parliament in December, there were 4 lakh camels across India in the 2012 Livestock census, and by the 2019 census their number had dwindled to 2.52 lakh.

According to the 2019 animal census, the number of camels in Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya and Nagaland officially fell to zero, while in 2012, these states had 45, 03, 07 and 92 camels respectively.

About 85 per cent of the country’s camels are found in Rajasthan followed by Gujarat, Haryana,Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

According to the information given in the Parliament, the number of camels in Rajasthan in 2012 was 3,25,713, which had reduced to 2,12,739 in 2019.

International Monsoons Project Office Launched By GoI

On National Science Day 2022, the govt has launched an international Monsoons Project Office.

Highlights:

Dr. Jitendra Singh had launched it, MoS (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Earth Sciences; PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Nuclear Energy, and Space.

Initially, the International Monsoons Project Office (IMPO) is based at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) in Pune for five years.

The IMPO was found to spotlight the importance of monsoons for the state’s economy.

Under the World Climate Research Program Leadership and the World Weather Research Program, IMPO would identify and foster connections and activities associated with international monsoon research.

The United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) coordinates the World Weather Research Program and Climate Research Programs.

In 2008, the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) was launched by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers to form quality generic medications available to all at affordable prices.

This scheme also looked to boost awareness regarding generic medicine usage within the country.

PFRDA To Launch Guaranteed Return Scheme

The (PFRDA) is launching a guaranteed return scheme called Minimum Assured Return Scheme (MARS).

Highlights

This scheme will be launched to supply people from the salaried classes with an Investment option.

PFRDA has appointed EY Actuarial Services LLP as a consultant to design the proposed MARS under National Pension Scheme (NPS).

It will be the first scheme from the pension regulator to supply a guaranteed return to investors.

However, only the ground is about in the proposed scheme. A consultant is probably going to figure out the framework within some months.
