The Central Government has accorded approval for the Karnal-Yamunanagar railway line to be built along Western Yamuna Canal in Haryana. Besides this, the elevated railway track to be built in Kaithal has also been approved

This was informed by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while interacting with the mediapersons after meeting the Union RAILWAY Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, in New Delhi.

Khattar said that the Central Government has approved the Karnal-Yamunanagar railway line to be built along the Western Yamuna Canal in Haryana. The construction along the Western Yamuna Canal will reduce the cost of construction of the Karnal-Yamunanagar railroad by about Rs 400 crore, he said.

Like the elevated railway track in Rohtak and Kurukshetra, the Central Government has also accorded approval for the elevated railway track to be constructed in Kaithal.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh assured a farmers delegation that he would soon meet the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to raise their demand for further revision in compensation against land acquired by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

The farmers have rejected the meager compensation awarded by the District Revenue Officers (DROs), who have been designated as CALAs (Competent Authority for Land Acquisitions).

The issue relates to 25,000 hectares of land in 15 districts across the State. The land is under process of acquisition for the project covering multiple expressways, viz Delhi-Jammu-Katra, Jamnagar-Amritsar, Ludhiana-Ropar, Bathinda-Dabwali, besides bypass for Jalandhar and Ludhiana.

Uttarakhand CM announces Rs 200 crore package for 1.64 lakh associated with Char Dham & other sectors

With Char Dham yatra yet to start for pilgrims this year, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday announced a Rs 200 crore package for 1.64 lakh people associated with the annual pilgrimage and other sectors. Due to the closure of the yatra for devotees, hotel and transport business, porters and other activities are almost at a standstill.

People engaged in various activities of tourism business and registered with the departments would be provided financial assistance of Rs 2,000 per month for six months. The move will benefit as many as 5,000 people.

Under the Uttarakhand Tourism Travel Business Manuals, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 would be provided to the 655 registered tour and adventure tour operators. River guides, 630 of them, will get Rs 10,000.

Mines and geology department on Thursday fixed the rates of sand to be sold from the identified storage points in Patna, Rohtas, Aurangabad and Bhojpur districts.

According to a notification issued by the mines department, while per 100 cft of sand will cost Rs 4,027 in Patna, the same quantity will be sold at Rs 4,000 in Bhojpur district.

High wind speed acrosscoastal regionsofGujarathas pushed upelectricitygeneration from wind energy close to record-level. The average wind power generation in Gujarat shot up 106 million units (MUs) or 4,432 MW on Wednesday, which was in striking distance of the all-time high wind power generation of 108 MUs or 4,600 MW recorded across the state in July 2019.

The Average generation was just 552 MW (13 MUs) on Wednesday last week. According to the Western Regional Load Dispatch Centre (WRLD), a central government entity, the daily peak of wind power generation in Gujarat was recorded at 4,712MW on Wednesday, when the states maximum electricity demand was recorded at 14,758 MW.

In fact, the state produced more power from wind farms than conventional thermal power Plants. Electricity generation from sources is growing at a faster rate with new projects coming up across Gujarat, which is the second largestproducerof wind power (with total installed capacity of 7,542 MW) in India afterTamil Nadu.

Despite challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Gujarat witnessed the highest addition of wind power generation capacity in the country during 2020-21.
Wind power projects having cumulative generation capacity of 1,020.3 MW were installed and commissioned in Gujarat from April 2020 to March 2021, shows data compiled by Indian WindTurbineManufacturers Association (IWTMA).
