New UP sports policy to foster sports culture

Aimed at fostering Sports culture in the state and promoting athletes, the Yogi Adityanath government through the new Sports Policy 2022 will not only engage itself in identifying the budding athletes in the state, but also develop sports for quality training of the sportspersons.

Under the new sports policy to be approved by the state cabinet, the government will also constitute the UP Sports Development Fund for providing world-class training and support to talented sportspersons, and for this a plan with an initial budget of Rs 100 crore is ready.

At present, there are about 30,000 playgrounds in the state, and a target has been set to double them to 60,000. Apart from this, financial assistance will also be made available to private sports academies.

Sehgal said that under the new sports policy, UP Sports Development Fund would be created with an initial budget of Rs 100 crore. This fund will be used for purchase of sports equipment, foreign training camps and appointment of physiologists, psychologists and foreign coaches.

District sports centres will also be set up in every district. Apart from this, 14 Centres of Excellence will be established in the next five years for high-quality training for players representing the state and the country in national and international competitions. Along with this, a physio trainer and dietician will be appointed in every division. A talent search committee will be constituted in every district to find hidden sports talents.

Quality education can enable welfare of human race: Guv

Governor Ramesh Bais inaugurated a study centre of Jharkhand Open University at Deoghar on Saturday and participated in a seminar organised on National Education Policy 2020. On the occasion he congratulated AS College, Deoghar, Economic Association of Bihar and The Indian Economic Association for organizing the event.

This education policy will help in changing the present colonial education system. Where for years our education policy was preparing only job-seeking youth, the new policy will develop such an education system which will play an important role in making youth self-reliant and job creators. This education policy also talks about character upliftment, he added.

The Governor further said that a good educational institution is considered to be one where good and appropriate Resources are provided for the Learning of every student, the teachers there are dedicated towards education, they are considerate for their students like their own children and they become a true guide. The National Education Policy 2020 envisages these parameters.

Jharkhand State Open University has been established in the state of Jharkhand and today the study center of this university is also being established here. The establishment of this study center will greatly benefit the people around, said the Governor.

The ambitious Ganga Jal Apoorti Yojana of chief minister Nitish Kumar, aimed at mitigating the sufferings of water-stressed areas of south Bihar, will be dedicated to people ofBiharin the last week of November.

Ganga Jal Apoorti Yojana is first of its kind scheme in the country where surplus floodwater of river Ganga would be pumped to water-stressed cities and used as drinking water.

Cgarh bags two national awards in fish farming

Chhattisgarh will receive two national awardsBest Inland State and Best Proprietary Firm — from the National Board at a function to be held at Daman on the occasion of World Fisheries Day on Monday.

Chhattisgarhs Bharat Bala Aquaculture has been selected for the award of best proprietary firm for fish farming in Bagaud village in Dhamtari. A cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a memento will be conferred on the firm.

Apart from it, the Chhattisgarh state will receive the award of Best Inland State.

Winter session of State assembly from December 19

The winter session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly will be held from December 19. The Vidhan Sabha Secretariat has issued a notification regarding the five-day session. Home Minister Narottam Mishra informed that the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha will be held for five days from December 19 to December 23. Its notification has been issued. This session will be of one week.
