Chief Minister N Biren Singh said territorial Integrity of Manipur will be protected at all costs, reacting to a demand made by 10 MLAs for a separate administration for the Kuki-dominated districts of the northeastern state. The chief minister, who had made an air-dash to Delhi to confer with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, said measures are being taken to ensure that militants, who had signed a peace pact dubbed suspension of operations’, return to their designated camps.

Singh also appealed to people not to hold dharnas or rallies in view of the sensitive phase the state has been witnessing since race riots between the majority Meiteis and the Kukis earlier this month. He also said no force would be used to break the blockades imposed by some groups on highways in the state in the wake of the rioting, and instead efforts would be made to reason with these demonstrators.

Assam proactive to prevent crime against children: NCPCR member

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) said Assam was pro-actively working towards eliminating crime against children. Addressing a press conference, NCPCR member Divya Gupta said crimes by juveniles in Assam were also very less compared to some other states. The Assam government is very proactive in preventing crimes against children. It is taking serious actions against criminals of child abuse, she said.

‘Bring more homes under nutri-garden

Three civil Society organisations have urged the to include more households under the Mo Upakari Bagicha or nutri-garden scheme, which is aimed at addressing the issues of Food Security and Malnutrition.

Portal to ease clearances to start businesses

The district industries centre (DIC) and GuidanceTamil Nadu conducted a workshop for industries and MSMEs to utilise the Services of the Nadu single window portal to secure required clearances for launching new business ventures.

The industries department said that launching a new Industry requires licences, clearances and mandatory certificates from at least 14 government departments.

The types of clearances required based on the Investment category and sector, training on filling out forms required for licences and the availability of the integrated online grievance redressal system for clearing queries were explained.

Govt to revive ‘Mana Nagaram’ to boost connect with citizens in Hyderabad

The BRS government plans to revive the ‘Mana Nagaram’ programme in the city to give people a platform for raising grievances and quick solutions. The lone event in 2018 ahead of polls was a huge success and this has prompted the government to hold it again.

Among the issues resolved through the lone ‘Mana Nagaram’ in 2018 is the long-pending demand to regularise plots in 44 colonies in LB Nagar which was first brought to the notice of municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao during the programme.

A GO was issued to regularise the plots last November. Similar programme was organised at Kukatpally and other areas too with the support of residential welfare associations (RWAs).

Soon, rivers across Goa to have fish cage culture

cage culture will get a much-needed boost in Goa with this form of aquaculture production being initiated across state rivers this year.
Twenty-two units, or cages, growing high-value fish such as chonak and pomfret are being installed across state rivers under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) scheme. The scheme helps promote the socio-economic welfare of fishers and fish farmers by providing safety kits, replacing boats and nets, providing Insurance for fishing vessels and fishermen, etc.

Seeds of the fish are currently being sourced from a private fish hatchery in Kumta, Karnataka. However, the fisheries department will al-so set up a hatchery in Benaulim from where farmers can source fish and shrimp seeds locally, said Monteiro.

Under the PMMSY scheme, the central government has released Rs19. 44 lakh and the State Government has released Rs12. 96 lakh to install cages in rivers in 2022-23. With a financial achievement of Rs32. 40 lakh, 22 cages are expected to be set up in 2023 by six beneficiaries.

State to get mechanism to act on citizens’ social media plaints: CM

At a review meeting of the information technology department on Friday, chief ministerEknath Shindedirected officials to immediately implement the mechanism for action on complaints of citizens on Social Media. Officials also said that a comprehensive drone policy is being finalised for the state.

“Citizens are presenting their suggestions and complaints related to the government through various social media. A joint system of our government and the chief minister’s secretariat is being set up by the information technology department to take immediate action on this.

Apart from the traditional methods, citizens are sending suggestions, complaints and statements to the government through email, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media. In order to take action on it, it is necessary to send it to the relevant departments, follow up and keep getting information about it. The information technology department is setting up this system with the help of our government team and it should be implemented soon so that the citizens can use it,” CM Shinde said at the meeting.

Earlier,Haryanahad a target of screening around 98.1 lakh people with an annual income of Rs 1.8 lakh or less. On Thursday, the state increased the number to 1.2 crore after a survey – a rise of nearly 24%.

The check-ups are meant to be done at least once every two years. The scheme aims to detect diseases at the earliest to lessen the burden of treatment costs on the patient’s family. Under the revised target, a total of 4,38,682 people will be screened in the city, up from 3,48,556 earlier.

The identified Population is categorised into six age groups for the purpose of check-ups. While category 1 covers infants up to six months of age, category 2 covers children aged six to 59 months. The third category includes children aged five to 18 years, while category 4 covers the 18-40 age group and category 5 the 40-60 age group. Those over 60 years of age fall under category 6.

The scheme was launched by President Droupadi Murmu at the Civil Hospital in Kurukshetra in November last year. It was announced by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar in his budget speech in 2022.
