Edu cell to give push to legal, financial and digital literacy

The state Education department has formed the State Centre for Literacy (SCL) cell to impartlegal, financial, and digital literacy to adults who have not received formal education in any school. The union education ministry had formulated the project in 2021 with the objective to promote adult education and lifelong Learning. The project under the goals designated in New Education Policy 2020 will run till 2027 with an aim to cover all targeted adults.

The cell becomes critical in states with the poorest literacy rate of below 50% among Women in the country.

TheRajasthanState Council for Education Research and Training (RSCERT) based in Udaipur has started preparing contents for under the targeted areas in local areas. Also, the focus of the content is to integrate it with technology tools such as digital platforms, mobile apps, IT etc to have easy access.

HP traced 88% of missing persons in 3 yrs, says DGP

In the last three years,Himachal Pradeshhas reported more than 7,000 people as missing and they include 1,900-odd men, 4,000-odd Women, 200-odd boys, and 850-odd girls. It has traced more than 6,1oo-odd or almost 88 % of them.
The state has recovered 1,600-odd or 82% of the men, 3,500-odd or 88% of the women, 190-odd or 95% or the boys, and 829 or 97% of the girls. Director General of policeSanjay Kundusaid a high success rate of the recovery effort had prevent recurrence of similar crimes. He said: Missing persons are those who have disappeared and their status as alive or dead has to be confirmed, as their location and fate are unknown. They are vulnerable to abuse and exploitation.
For tracing women and children, the state Police had started Register 28-B from January 1, 2021, at the police stations for theDGPto monitor the progress every Monday. Police found 15 children (14 girls & a boys) to be habitual runaways. Anti-human trafficking units (AHTUs) are active in 12 districts, which include Baddi but exclude Lahaul-Spiti.

Cabinet nod for promoting MSME sector in Uttarakhand

To boost theMSME sectorofUttarakhand, the state cabinet approved a proposal to provide customised packages to individuals and firms that aim to invest over Rs 200 crore and give EMPLOYMENT to 500 locals in the state.
The cabinet approved another proposal encouraging private in the MSME sector. Under the project, SIDCUL would club hands with land owners to create a ‘land bank.’ The involvement of SIDCUL is expected to boost the confidence of investors from other states, who would be allowed to purchase 2 acres of land in the hills and 30 acres in the plains.

The cabinet also approved a total of 31 posts for theUttarakhand Real Estate Regulatory Authority. The important budget session would be held in the Bhararisain area of summer capital Gairsain from March 13 to 18.

Besides this, the cabinet granted permission to give 3,000 square meter land in the Purukul area to open a school for specially-abled children. The cabinet will also recruit 285 Special teachers for those unable to attend school.

The cabinet also gave a nod to an Industry department proposal recommending bringing down the district mining trust amount from 25% to 15%.

UPs ethanol production set to see a boom this fiscal

Uttar Pradeshs ethanol production is likely to cross 135 crorelitre markduring the present fiscal owing to more number of distilleries producing the renewable fuel over the past one year.

To note, UP is the first state to achieve the 10% ethanol-petrol blending programme target set by the Union Government. During the previous fiscal (2021-22) the distilleries in the state generated 97 crore litre of ethanol.

CM asks officers, employees to establish a better working system in State

Working system of the government is a continuous process. During this, challenges will continue to come and its solution will also continue to be found. Amidst all this you have to walk shoulder to shoulder with the government. You have to establish a better methodology. It is true that it is the job of the government to take a decision, but being the implementing authority, it is your job to put it on the ground and take it to the people, said Chief Minister Hemant Soren while addressing the first provincial session of Jharkhand Officer Teachers Federation at Jharkhand Technical University Auditorium.

The CM said that my government is moving in the direction of doing such work, which can set an example for the whole country and other states can implement it as a model. He said that it is our endeavour to create such a Jharkhand, where every person can stand on his own feet and live with dignity.

The CM said that the government is moving fast in the direction of strengthening the Education system. Model schools are being established and opened in this direction. The basic structures are being strengthened. Along with this, teachers are being trained in best institutes like IIMs, so that quality education can be provided in government schools as well. Very soon our model schools will be such that they will have better facilities and education than private schools.

CM slams slashing of funds in Budget for key schemes

Chief ministerNitish Kumar expressed concern over the slashing of funds for central schemes meant for rural development in the 2023-23 UnionBudget, and also reiterated his demand for the grant of special category status toBihar.

The Centre should have accepted the demand of a poor state like Bihar regarding special category status to it, and three to five other states. This measure and central assistance would have helped their developmentt, which, after all, would have been in favour of the country, the CM said.

There is nothing in the central budget in the interest of the people, and rural areas. Funds allotted for the central schemes in 2022-23 financial year have been slashed, he said when asked about his response on the budget during his Samadhan Yatra in Saharsa district.

The CM said funds for important initiatives like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural EMPLOYMENT Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) have been brought down from Rs 73,000 crore in 2022-23 to Rs 60,000 crore, for PM Krishi Sinchai Scheme by Rs 2,167 crore and for Rashtriya Shiksha Mission by Rs 600 crore, besides others.

Tobacco grips 39% people in Cgarh

Despite steps to curb tobacco consumption and de-addiction centres, about eight percent of children in the 13-15 age group are under the influence of tobacco in Chhattisgarh.

A total 39.1 percent of the state’s Population uses tobacco, said Dr Kamlesh Jain, the state nodal officer, National Tobacco Control Programme.

Jain said the Centre has issued guidelines for tobacco-free educational institutions. These guidelines are to be compulsorily implemented.

The research found that 34.3 percent of pregnant Women who used tobacco had more complications. Along with this, problems like miscarriage have also been observed in 1.6 percent of pregnant women.

Madhya Pradesh has 11.2 Gigawatt pumped hydro storage capacity, says Hardeep Dang

New and Minister Hardeep Singh Dang said that Madhya Pradesh will create its own special place in the country in pumped hydro storage projects. According to the assessment made by the Central Electricity Authority, the capacity of 11.2 Gigawatt pumped hydro storage projects is available for development in Madhya Pradesh.

The Cabinet has decided to implement the pumped hydro storage projects and execute the tender process.

In order to encourage the pumped hydro storage project, registered projects will be given incentives and benefits including exemption under Madhya Pradesh Renewable Energy Policy-2022 in proposed electricity fee and energy development undertaking, reimbursement of stamp duty, exemption in wheeling charges, exemption in registration-cum-facilitation fee and government land with the right to use at cent percent circle rate.

Mega line to be desilted, 1.1k units to stop production

Around 1,100 chemicals and textiles units in key industrial areas like Naroda,Odhav, and Vatva will remain shut for around 10 days from March 5 as the Ahmedabad Mega Clean Association (AMCA) will carry out desilting work of the mega pipeline.

To do this work, AMCA will also put meters at key locations to measure effluent water flow.

AMCA, the operating body of the mega line of industrial effluent ofcommoneffluent treatment Plants (CETPs), has told its members that the desilting activity starts from March 5 and no discharge would be allowed in the mega line till the desilting work is completed.

The mega line was set up in 2001 to carry treated effluent water from Odhav, Naroda and Vatva CETPs. It is a 27km line with a capacity of 75 MLD.

Centre identifies 9 solar parks in state for devpt

As many as nine solar parks have been identified inRajasthanwith an aggregate capacity of 7,036 MW under the scheme for Development of Solar Parks andUltra Mega Solar Power Projects.

The solar parks approved in Rajasthan include Bhadla-II Solar Park (680 MW), Bhadla-III Solar Park (1000 MW), Phalodi-Pokhran Solar Park (750 MW), Fatehgarh Phase-1B Solar Park (421 MW),Nokh Solar Park(925 MW), Pugal Solar Park Ph-I (1000 MW), Pugal Solar Park Ph-II (450 MW) and RVUN Solar Park (1310 MW).
