Government plans policy for uniform industrialisation in Haryana

The Haryana Government is making strenuous efforts to formulate a policy for uniform industrialisation across the state. The government is taking steps towards exporting 140 products in 140 blocks of the state. For this, the government has taken an initiative in the name of Padma initiative, under which one block-one product is being encouraged.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala held a meeting with senior officers of industries and commerce, revenue and Disaster Management, MSME, development and panchayat department and other departments regarding the Padma initiative. The Deputy CM directed the officers to study the policies of other states to promote rural before finalising the Padma initiative programme.

Punjab CM digitally launches inter-state basmati movement portal

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday digitally launched the Inter-State Basmati Movement portal emandikaran-pb.in in order to stop influx of paddy-parmal from outside that is hampering procurement operations on MSP across the State.

The move is aimed to allow free movement of Basmati into the State and alleviate any hardship being faced by genuine Basmati Rice Shellers besides GPS monitoring of Basmati Trucks would help the state to identify the genuine operators without impacting their daily operations.

The Portal will show the GPS enabled movement of Basmati Trucks in the State.

Jharkhand gets 1,753 km road under Central scheme

The Central Government has sanctioned construction of as many as 233 roads across Jharkhand worth Rs 1396 crore in order to improve connectivity in the naxal hit areas. Under the scheme a total of 1753.77 km road will be constructed other than 71 bridges. The rural development is likely to execute the plan by floating tenders. The road will be developed in the aspirational districts of Jharkhand.

The Union Ministry of Rural Development took this decision in the Light of a proposal made by the Jharkhand government. The proposal of Jharkhand was approved at a meeting of the empowered committee chaired by Union Rural Development Secretary NN Sinha in Delhi.

These roads will be constructed under the Prime Ministers Village Road Scheme. According Jharkhand rural development department 979.350 km of rural roads will be constructed under PMGCI Phase-3 which will cost Rs 630.65 crore. Similarly 774.42 km of roads will be constructed in the Naxal hit areas under the Prime Ministers Village Road Scheme to improve connectivity. The Narendra Modi government has given approval for construction of roads through RCPLWE scheme. Under this, 125 roads and 71 bridges will be constructed worth Rs 765.42 crore.

Under the scheme schools, anganwadi centers, Health centers and roads connecting to district headquarters will be constructed on the priority basis. Besides, roads will be co constructed in hard to reach areas for the development of such undeveloped areas. The project will be centrally monitored.

NMCG signs MoU for faecal sludge management in Ganga basin

The National Mission of Clean Ganga (NMCG) has signed an MoU with Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Institute (WASH Institute) to efficiently address Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) issues in towns and cities of the Ganga basin.

The project that will ensure a series of trainings to enhance the quality of service of officials in (ULBs) will be funded by the US AID and supported by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).

In India, untreated faecal sludge and urban sewage are the primary source of Water Pollution, particularly in the cities around Ganges. Under Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Mission, more than 62 lakh toilets were built but half of these toilets rely on on-site sanitation system (OSS). “Managing the waste collected from these toilets is the next big challenge for India.

Considering these challenges, systematic capacity building initiatives needed to be undertaken to build the skill and knowledge of the government, Urban Local Body (ULB) officials, STP/FSTP Operators, sanitary workers, entrepreneurs, NGO professionals and other stakeholders involved in the FSSM sector across India, the release said.

As a first step in this collaboration, a webinar followed by two batches of detailed online trainings have already been conducted starting off with the state of Uttar Pradesh covering 20 ULBs.

CM to launch scheme for medicines on rebate

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will launch a Shree Dhanwantri Medicine Scheme on October 20 to provide 50 percent or more rebate on the maximum retail price of medicines.

There will be a total of 188 medical stores in 169 cities and towns across the state. On the inauguration day, 85 shops will open. The rest will be operational by the end of October.

In the next phase of the scheme, Home delivery of medicines will commence, an official Communication said on Thursday.

These shops have been allocated by civic bodies on rent at Rs 2 per square feet based on the decision of the .

There will be 251 kinds of medicines, 27 surgical items and quality herbal products manufactured by the Minor Forest Produce Association available in the shops.

Apart from it, generic medicines of reputed companies of the country will be sold.

Already in urban area, the Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme, City Diagnostic Centre, Dai Didi Clinic and other health schemes are operational.

Ladli Laxmi Yojana a role model for world: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Education, security, Health, self-reliance, prosperity and respect of Women and girls are his governments priority in Madhya Pradesh. He was speaking at the Ladli Laxmi festival organised at the Minto Hall here in the state capital.

Gujarat: Industries to provide land in lion, GIB areas to offset forest land buy

In a boost to wildlife of Gujarat, the government has begun implementation of a scheme where industries that have acquired forest land are to compensate by providing private land in the Asiatic lion landscape spread in various districts of the state and the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) habitat in Kutch.

The decision has been taken to ensure that lions get more space and help in their movement along the lion corridors identified in the state, he further stated.

So far the government has acquired about 2,000 hectares of land from such government and private bodies in the last one year.

There are five districts including Bhavnagar, Amreli, Rajkot, Morbi and Kutch that are identified for this purpose. The officer said that the department has identified talukas and areas where the lions have made permanent Home or are frequently visiting these areas.

Rajasthan earns praise for installing oxygen plants under PM Cares fund

Centre praised Rajasthan for installing all the 51 Oxygen generation Plants allocated to the state under PM Cares fund. For the preparation of third wave of Covid-19, the state is installing around 545 oxygen plants, out of them 51 were allocated by the Centre under PM Cares fund which have now become functional and ready for use.

The Centre had sanctioned pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants under PM Cares fund across the country.

Fast-tracking the oxygen plants was the focus of the Health department in the state as the second wave of Covid-19 had done a lot of damage due to shortage of oxygen.

Since contribution of different government departments and Central agencies was required, a coordinated effort was required for setting up the plants. At some places in remote and rural areas of the state, electricity supply was an issue. For ensuring proper power supply, pillars were erected and power was supplied to the oxygen plants.

NSO Data on Retail Inflation and IIP

As per IMF, Indias retail relaxed in September 2021, reducing to a five-month low. This was because of favourable comparison with year 2020 and moderating food prices that offset an increase in the cost of crude oil & fuel.

Consumer price inflation decreased sharply to 4.35% in September 2021 as compared to 5.3% in August. This was the third consecutive month within the Tolerance band of Reserve Bank Of India (RBI).

In September 2020, Consumer Price Index-based (CPI) inflation was 7.27%.

According to NSO Data, inflation in food basket relaxed to 0.68% in September 2021, significantly decreased by 3.11% as compared to August.

Government has tasked the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to keep CPI-based inflation at 4%, with a tolerance band of 2% on both the sided. RBI usually factors in CPI-based inflation while launching its bi-monthly Monetary Policy.

Govt launches One Health Consortium

The Department of Biotechnology launched a One Health consortium on October 14, 2021 in virtual mode.

One Health Consortium has been empowered to carry out surveillance of important viral, bacterial, & parasitic infections of zoonotic and transboundary pathogens in India.

This project will also look into use of existing diagnostic tests and development of additional methodologies to conduct surveillance and understand the spread of emerging diseases.
