After the value of reproduction (R) number at which Covid-19 or any other infection spreads, remaining below one for nearly three months, it has again crossed the crucial threshold in Punjab.

The state has joinedHimachal Pradeshat the top of states with R-value greater than the national Average.

As per the data shared by the Centre, there are six districts in Himachal Hamirpur, Kangra, Bilaspur, Chamba, Mandi and Shimla which reported an increasing trend in daily new cases during the last two weeks, of which one district recorded a weekly positivity rate of over 10%, double the limit recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Himachal is ranked third amongst states where an increasing trend has been noted in maximum districts.

The rate of infection in Haryana has been recorded at 1. However, the situation is stable at the moment. As per the latest data released by the Centre, no fresh cases of Delta Plus (AY.1) variant have been detected in the region. Out of 86, cases of Delta Plus variant that signifies Delta lineage with an additional mutation found in the country, only eight have been traced in the region four in Chandigarh, two in Punjab and one each in Himachal and Haryana in samples examined by the National Centre for Disease Control and CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology for whole genome sequencing.

The Uttarakhand Government has decided to equip all the Government colleges of the State with WiFi facility.

Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has set up a high powered committee which would oversee the implementation of the process of setting up the facility in 105 Government colleges of the state. The committee would be headed by the director of the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) and would include the director, higher education or his nominee, joint secretary/ deputy secretary level officer and two technical experts of ITDA.

The Minister held an elaborate discussion with the officers of the department at his Vidhan Sabha office. In the meeting he said that a committee headed by ITDA director Ashish Srivastava would complete the process of purchase for setting up the WiFi connectivity, select a work execution agency and then hand over the process to the higher education department. The work order to the execution agency would be given by the higher education department which would also bear the entire expenditure of the work.

The Uttar Pradesh government has mustered its resources to clean the environment, reduce the cost of agriculture, increase agricultural production and the income of farmers.

Under this project of the government, 21,142 farmers of 11 districts, located along river Ganga from Bijnor to Ballia, have formed 700 organic clusters in an area of 14,000 hectares. The farmers included in these clusters have grown various crops through organic methods under Kharif 2020 and Rabi 2020-21 seasons.

These products were displayed in the stalls of fairs, exhibitions and seminars organised at various occasions. Farmers have so far sold organic products worth Rs 2.76 crore from this project.

Buoyed by the success of this three-year project in its first year, the is going to start its second phase soon. Of the total project cost of Rs 71.40 crore, a sum of Rs 21.05 crore has been spent. It is worth mentioning that the state government, in order to double the income of the farmers, has created many facilities which include impetus to Organic Farming, switch to profitable crops and diversification in agricultural methods.

Statefarmerswill now be called Birsa Kisan, chief minister Hemant Soren made the announcement on Monday during the International Day of the Worlds Indigenous Peoples celebrations at Project Building in Ranchi. The programme saw the distribution of kisan credit cards (KCC) and rollout of the MukhyamantriPashudhan Yojanafor the current fiscal year. Similar programmes were held simultaneously across all the 24 districts to mark the day.

The statecabineton sanctioned Rs 598.10 crore for the construction of 12.409km of approach road as an alternative route to the Sonepur-Digha Ganga rail-cum-road bridge (J P Setu) from the Sonepur side.

The proposal was moved by the road construction department. The project involves bitumen and PCC works, construction of culverts, drain, safety points, underpass, road overbridge (ROB) and elevated structure.

With regard to another proposal moved by the road construction department, the cabinet sanctioned Rs210.13 crore for the construction of approach road cum two-lane bridge on river Sone near Panduka in Rohtas district. This bridge will connect to Jharkhand near Japla town.

Besides, the cabinet also sanctioned the release of state share worth Rs38.17 crore for the construction of a road overbridge between Danapur and Neura RAILWAY stations. The total expenditure on the ROB is Rs60.80 crore.

To promote solar power, the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) is asking domestic and other consumers to set up roof top grid connected solar plants based on their contract load with the electricity department.

The installation will be based on the regulations issued by the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC). The domestic consumers, will get a waiver of 20-40 percent of the installation cost.

The domestic consumer can install the grid connection solar Plants of 1 to 10 kW capacity.

Buoyed by fresh inflows into equity mutual funds, Ahmedabad has pipped Chennai in mutual fund (MF) investments and it now ranks sixth among Indian cities with highest mutual fund asset base.

The total asset under management (AUM) of in Ahmedabad grew 41% annually to Rs1.12 lakh crore as of June 2021. MF asset base of Chennai, at the same time, rose 8.7% to settle at Rs 92,252 crore, shows data compiled by theAssociation of Mutual Fundsin India (AMFI), which had placed Chennai at sixth position in June last year.

The mines department is expediting the exploration of manganese inBanswaraafter preliminary studies byGeological Survey of India(GSI) and Department of Mines and Geology (DMG) indicate that the reserves could be over 100 million tonne.The mineral reserves in Banswara are spread over a length 25km with a width of 40 metre and depth of 50 metre, as per the initial findings.

A private company is already mining the mineral on a lease over 18 hactares and a total of 98,879 tonnes of manganese Ore has been produced since the start of the operation. As per the mine plan of the lease area, a minable resource of 2.12 lakh of manganese has been established.

Manganese ore with 20 to 34% Metal content in Kalakhunta and Tambesra-Rupakhedi is considered to be high.
