Portal launched for auction of gifts received by Haryana CM gets good response

Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modis idea of auctioning the gifts received and using the donations for public welfare, the CM Uphaar Portal created by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has received a good response as a total of 51 gifts put up for auction through Uphaar Portal have received a donation of Rs 1,14,95,000.

The Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General, Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, Dr Amit Agrawal on Sunday said that a bid of Rs 21 lakh has been placed for the 3D model sculpture of the Chief Minister. A bid has been placed for Rs 6.41 lakh for the sculpture of Arjun Rath, Rs 5.80 lakh for the sculpture of Kamakhya Devalya, and Rs 1.75 lakh for the sculpture of Ram Janmabhoomi temple.

Dr Agrawal said that the amount received from the auction of gifts would be deposited in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and would be spent on public welfare works. The Chief Minister had decided to auction the gifts presented by social organizations or individuals as a mark of respect during various programmes; and under this initiative, the Uphaar Portal was launched, he said.

Punjab Govt seeks suggestions for agricultural policy till Mar 31

To resolve the problems faced by the farmers of agrarian state Punjab and to make Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture a profitable venture, the has sought suggestions from the general public for the agricultural policy being made for the first time in Punjab.

It has been decided to prepare an agricultural policy to make the farmers debt-free and to make farmers adopt innovative techniques. In this connection, for the first time in the HISTORY of Punjab, the Chief Minister organized a Sarkar-Kisaan Milni, said the state Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Monday.

Dhaliwal said that the Government has sought suggestions from the general public, especially the farmers, FPO Groups, Self Help Group, Kisan Association, and Agro Industrial Association till March 31, 2023, to include the feedback of farmers in the agricultural policy.

Himachal Pradesh Budget: Rs 8,828 crore proposed for education sector

To improve the quality of Education and to provide better facilities to students, Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has proposed Rs 8,828 crore for the .
The CM said that several surveys brought out recently indicate deterioration of students’ Learning, reading and writing abilities especially, after Covid pandemic and his government is committed to strengthen the education system and a comprehensive work plan will be prepared to improve the situation.

Sukhu added that focus will be on both quality and quantitative improvement of the education system while implementing the National Education Policy 2020 in the state, to improve learning outcomes of children. He said that the process for filling up vacant posts of teachers in educational institutions will be expedited.

CM Sukhu further said that his government believes in providing better facilities in terms of adequate teachers, libraries, lab facilities, good buildings and Sports grounds in functional schools instead of only opening new schools or upgrading existing schools. He said that in 2021-22, only one teacher was available in 3,148 schools each of the state, which were 30 percent of the total schools. It was found that very few students were enrolled in many recently opened institutions and it was not possible to provide quality education to them. Considerable changes are needed to provide the best education to children of the state, he said.

Govt speeds up process to provide land to investors

The Uttar Pradesh government has expedited the process of providing land to the investors who have signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with the during the recent Global Investors Summit.

The state government will soon initiate the process of auctioning 635 hectares of land for the industrial units.

The land, equaling nearly 888 Olympic soccer stadiums, has been identified in the urban pockets for allotment to investors. According to sources, the land has been arranged for urban-centric projects, including hotels, schools, group housing, hospitals, Nursing homes, CNG filling stations, Logistics and shopping centres.

With the Yogi Adityanath government 2.0 netting Investment proposals of more than Rs 33.50 lakh crore from over 19,000 investors at the three-day GIS held on February 10-12, the state has kicked off a process to materialise these projects at the earliest. To supplement the menu of industrial land, the state will not only allot fresh land but also utilise the expansive plots of defunct government-owned industrial units across 75 districts of UP.

According to an estimate, the government is even mulling to utilise the land of defunct textile mills — estimated at 1,500 acres — for fresh allotment. For this purpose, the state will first settle all outstanding dues of these units before formally acquiring land for re-allotment.

More than two months after the Jharkhand High Court scrapped the States new employment policy; the Hemant Soren government has brought new recruitment policy, with some changes in favour of locals, in a bid to restart the stalled recruitment process.

The new revised recruitment policy was approved in the Jharkhand Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren today. In government jobs, the compulsion of matriculation and intermediate pass from Jharkhand was abolished. Now students who have passed the matriculation and intermediate examinations from other states too are eligible to apply for government jobs. Moreover, the new recruitment policy also gets rid of having knowledge of local customs and traditions. Bowing to demands from the opposition the new recruitment policy has added Hindi, English and along with regional languages.

In August 2021, the State cabinet dropped Hindi, English and Sanskrit from the list of mandatory languages that candidates appearing for exams conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSCC) for Grade III and IV government jobs have to clear.

The regional and tribal languages – Mundari, Kharia, Ho, Santhali, Khortha, Panchpargania, Bangla, Urdu, Kurmali, Nagpuri, Kurukh and Odia. As per earlier recruitment policy Urdu was retained as one of the languages in the 12 language papers while Hindi and Sanskrit which were there earlier have been dropped.

In another cabinet decision the government has hiked the incentives amount for matriculation and intermediate toppers.

CIMAP ties up with Bihar university to boost research

CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) signed a memorandum of understanding withMahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari,Biharto strengthen research work and extend the benefits of research to the students.

Research students will be familiarised with the new developments taking place in both the institutes. Under this agreement, MSc/MPhil/JRF/SRF/PhD students, faculty and scientists will be able to use the equipment available in both the institutes,” said CSIR-CIMAP spokesperson Manoj Semwal.

CSIR-CIMAP will also provide short-term training to the university students, said Semwal.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of institute’s senior scientists and faculty members of the university.

The support from the Govt. helps MSMEs operating in these regions to get easy access to WORKING CAPITAL through M1xchange TReDS.M1xchange has also signed MOU with the Ministry of MSME for Udyam portal, MSMEs will benefit from a two-way exchange of information between Udyam portal and M1xchange. All Udyam registered MSMEs will be able to onboard on M1xchange with an easy convenient process enabling them to leverage the full force of TReDS and access liquidity at the lowest possible cost in the country.

20,000 MW offshore wind power project in Gujarat gets nod

The Union Government has granted in-principle approval for offshore wind power generation on theGujaratcoastline.

With an expected of about Rs 16,000 crore in setting up offshore windmills and an additional investment of between Rs 20,000 crore to Rs 24,000 crore in setting up onshore transmission Infrastructure, the ambitious project envisages wind power generation to the tune of 20,000 MW or 2 gigawatt (GW).

The State Government will purchase all the power generated under the proposed project.

TheUnion ministry of renewable energywill invite bids to set up offshore wind power generation infrastructure off the Gujarat coast. The state government will partner with the Centre to set up necessary infrastructure along the coastline, including transmission networks.

The state government has identified five zones along the coastline conducive to offshore wind power generation. These zones have a combined area of 8,159sq km, and 37.2GW power could be produced in these five zones along the coast.
These zones are located along the Saurashtra, South Gujarat, and theGulf of Khambhatcoastlines.

Aadhaar-based payment of MGNREGA workers mandatory in Rajasthan

The government of India has made it mandatory for the to link Aadhaar details ofMGNREGAlabourers with their bank accounts for release of their payments/wages. Due to this, there is a delay in the payment of wages of lakhs ofMGNREGA workersin the state.

The Centre has also asked the state to clear payments of mates and masons for releasing its share of material payment under MGNREGA. While 100 per cent of labour payment is done by the Centre, 25% of material payment is done by the state government and 75% by the government of India.
