Organic fertilizer to boost carbon content in soil

On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote zero budget natural farming, scientists of the National Research Institute (NDRI) here have started the production of an organic fertiliser, Ghan Jeevaamrit, consisting of cow dung and urine of indigenous breed, water, jaggery, Soil and gram flour.

NDRI Director Dr Manmohan Singh Chauhan claimed that it was a rich source of carbon which could increase the carbon content from 0.2 per cent to 0.9 per cent. The NDRI will also give training to interested farmers free of cost in coming days.

The National Dairy Research Institute, here, have started the production of an organic fertiliser, Ghan Jeevaamrit consisting of cow dung and urine of indigenous breed, water, jaggery, soil and gram flour.

It has been observed that due to excessive use of fertilisers the natural carbon content in the soil goes down to less than 0.2 per cent, which is not a good sign. By using this Ghan Jeevaamriit we have observed that it goes up to 0.9 per cent.

Punjab government will strengthen activities under Jal Jeevan Mission

The Punjab government will further strengthen activities, including strengthening of Village Water and Sanitation Committee(VWSC) and setting up more water testing laboratories under the Centres flagship Jal Jeevan Mission(JJM).

The JJM, implemented by the Jal Shakti Ministry in coordination with the State governments, aims to provide piped drinking water to every rural household in the country by 2024.

The recently apprised the Jal Shakti Ministry that it has planned to build the capacity of over 60 thousand stakeholders which includes government officials, public Health engineers, village water and sanitation committee, surveillance committee and Panchayat members in 2021-22.

Skilling of local people will be ensured to work as mason, plumber, fitter, electrician and pump operator. Such initiative of providing EMPLOYMENT in the villages under skilled and semi-skilled sections will provide income generating opportunities in villages.

Rs 300 crore projects shelved under Smart City Mission

Shimla Smart City Mission has dropped projects worth Rs 300 crore from its list. Out of the projects worth Rs 1,000 crore that it had funded or was supposed to fund, it will now finance projects worth Rs 700 crore. The decision to shelve several projects was taken in the meeting of Board of Directors of Shimla Smart City Mission.

The Shimla Smart City Mission is looking to complete all its projects by June 2023, and hence appears unwilling to fund any project whose work is not awarded by March 2022. The Central government has instructed us to complete the projects by June 2023. The projects whose work has not been awarded by March are unlikely to be completed by next June, 2023. Thats the reason why the BoD is insisting on awarding the work of all projects before March 31, he said.

Govt committed to increase employment opportunities CM Dhami

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said the is committed to increase EMPLOYMENT and create self employment opportunities in Uttarakhand. The government has increased the upper age limit in the recruitment examinations by one year and has exempted the application fees for the applicants. The CM was addressing the youth in the Employment Fair in Haldwani on Tuesday. He said that the youth should take Leadership roles in every sector and said that such fairs are providing employment opportunities. The CM said that there are 3700 registered Home stays in the state which are giving employment to 8000 youngsters. He said that after a long time the state government has started a process to recruit 1764 posts in the Police department. The CM said that the state government is providing a sum of Rs 50,000 to the youngsters preparing for the civil Services, Union Public Service Commision(UPSC) and MBBS examinations. He said that the government is committed to promote vocal for local and the Self Help Groups are being encouraged for it.

UP deputy CM launches over 8,000 projects worth 10,000 crore

Deputy CM Keshav PrasadMaurya virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 8,413 projects worth over Rs 10,000 crore to lend a boost to better road connectivity in the state.
The projects include 4,703 roads of 8,737 km across 353 assembly constituencies and 132 bridges in 79 assembly constituencies.

He said that work has been done to connect villages up to a distance of 5 km from the national highway, state highway, main district road and other district roads. He said that before 2017, the length of national highways in the state was 6,000 km, which has now increased to 12,000 km. Construction works have been done while removing all obstacles.

3,95,798 youths become voters in Jharkhand

The has released the updated data of voters of the State. According to this figure, the number of youth voters in the State is 3,95,798.

Electoral Roll revision work was started by the commission from the month of November. After the completion of the revision process, the commission has released the updated figures.

On the other hand the total number of voters is 24473937. The number of male voters is 12613219. At the same time, the number of Women voters is 11860442. There are 276 third gender voters in the State. The number of female voters in the age group of 18-19 years is 179901. At the same time, the male voters of the same age limit are 215889. The number of third gender voters in the age group of 18-19 years is eight.

The number of Divyang voters, after the revision, has increased to 34,841. Total disabled voters are 333766 in the state.

In this, there are 63182 visually impaired, speech or hearing disabled number 56204, locomotor disabled 168286 and 130309 voters of other disabilities.

Notably, the State was gearing up to hold Panchayat polls as the tenure of rural and urban PRI representatives had already expired and the State had devised an alternative plan to run the rural and urban civic bodies.

Bihar: Rs 125 crore sanctioned for ex gratia payment in Covid death cases

The state cabinet gave its sanction to the government’s proposal to draw Rs125 crore from the contingency fund in two chunks for the ex gratia payment to the next of kin of the persons who died due to the Covid-19 or will succumb to the infection caused by it during the 2021-22 financial year.

Cabinet secretariat department special secretary Upendra Nath Pandey said Rs105 crore would be spent on making the ex gratia payment of Rs4 lakh against each deceased person.
The remaining chunk of Rs20 crore will be used for the payment of Rs50,000 to the next of kin of the deceased.

Cabinet nod to Jagannath Temple Acts amendment

The state cabinet, headed by chief ministerNaveen Patnaik approved a proposal for amendment of the ShriJagannathTemple Act, 1954, paving way for easy and simplified settlement of immovable properties/lands of the shrine in favour of those in occupation for decades.

With the amendment planned through ordinance route, the has decided to remove certain restrictions regarding settlement of the land.

The settlement is being done by paying required fees as decided under the Uniform Policy introduced in 2003.

Cabinet decides to change Spiritual department to Anand department

The State cabinet approved to amend the work (allocation) rules for formation of “Anand Department” and renaming of “Spiritual Department” to “Religious Trust and Endowment Department”.

The Cabinet gave in-principle approval for the implementation of Strengthening TEACHINGLearning and Results for States (STARS) programme. STARS is a Government of India programme, which has been approved in 6 states- Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Kerala. The objective of the STARS programme is to improve the quality and Governance of school Education. Such activities and innovations are proposed in the STARS project, which cannot be provided for in the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. Education for all, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Goals and National Education Policy 2020, Sampoorna Vidyalaya Approach (Whole School Approach) will be there in the STARS project.

The cabinet has given policy/in-principle approval for a supercritical technology based thermal power expansion unit of 1×660 megawatt capacity at Amarkantak Thermal Power House, Chachai of Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company, which is proposed to be implemented by a joint venture formed between Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited and SCEL, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. The estimated cost of the proposed project is Rs 4665 crore 87 lakh. For the project, 15 percent amount will be given by the State Government through share capital.

Drone flying under SVAMITVA takes off

The central government informed the parliament in the recently concluded winter session that the Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) scheme has taken off inGujarat, but no property cards have been issued to farmers yet.

Drones capture the land area and maps are made which are handed over to the state, which sends these back to the Union Government after verification. Following this, property cards are issued and distributed to persons residing in villages. It may be said that as of September 2021, drone flying activity had not been taken up in the state under the scheme.

According to the schedule prepared by the union ministry, 1,000 villages of Gujarat have to be covered under the SVAMITVA scheme by 2021-22, 8,510 villages have to be covered in 2022-23 and 9,505 villages have to be covered in the year 2023-24. Against a target of 1,000 villages, drone flying has been undertaken in only 103 villages of the state so far in this financial year.

Ministry of panchayati raj (MoPR) is implementing the SVAMITVA scheme with the aim to provide theRecord of Rights to village household owners possessing houses in inhabited areas in villages. Legal ownership rights (property cards/title deeds) are issued by mapping of land parcels using drone technology. The scheme aims to cover all the villages across the country by March 2025.
