More citizen services to go online in Punjab

The government will bring more citizen Services on its online platform to further strengthen the citizens services in Punjab as well as strengthen the deployment of IT personnel in departments.

This was decided at the 38th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Punjab State eGovernance Society (PSeGS) held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua.

PSeGS had been tasked with bringing major reforms in service delivery and would cover all services notified under the Punjab Act. It was pointed out that 430 services were being delivered from Sewa Kendras and 93 being delivered online portal.

World Bank keen for Green Resilient Integrated Development programme for HP: CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu

Thehas indicated that it is keen on the Green Resilient Integrated Development programme for the state with Basin approach with an estimated cost size of Rs 2500 crore (300 Million US dollars) depending upon the technical analyses, which may be enhanced further.

The chief ministerSukhvinder Singh Sukhudiscussed the Green agenda of the state with the World Bank team, headed by its Regional Director (Sustainable Development),South Asia Region,John Roomein Shimla on Monday. He also discussed the measures to be adopted to achieve the target of “Green Energy State” by 2025, with the assistance of the World Bank.

Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that as a step towards achieving the target, the state has fixed a time-bound action plan to achieve installation of 200 MW solar power energy projects in next nine months and the state will acquire more land for the installation of 500 MW by end of the year 2024.

Uttarakhand stations to get face lift with 5,000 crore railways allocation

To strengthen the rail Network in the hill state of Uttarakhand, Rs 5,004 crore has been allocated in the Union Budget. Under the station development scheme, two major stations — Haridwar and Dehradun — will be equipped with world-class facilities and nine other stations will be revamped.

Minister of railways Ashwini Vaishnaw said that “Uttarakhand has been allocated a record budget for this financial year, which is higher than many other northern states of the country”.

Uttar Pradesh tops in online tracking of sexual assault cases

Uttar Pradesh has secured first position among all states in online monitoring and tracking of cases of sexual assault. In a span of five months, UP moved to the top spot from seventh position.

Tracking of cases is done through a portal, known as Investigation Tracking System for Sexual Offences (ITSSO), which is an online analytical tool launched in 2018 to monitor and track timely completion of Police investigations in sexual assault cases. The website is maintained by theNational Crime Records Bureau(NCRB).

Guv nod to 2 Bills, Budget Session of Assembly from Feb 27

Governor Ramesh Bais has given his nod to two important Bills passed by the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The Governor has given his assent to the ‘Jharkhand Contingency Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2022’ passed by the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on Friday. Through this Bill, the amount of withdrawal from the State’s contingency fund has now been increased from Rs 500 crore to Rs 1200 crore.

Bais has also given his assent to the ‘Jharkhand State Agricultural Produce and Marketing Bill, 2022′ and has sent various suggestions in this regard to the State Government. He has said that in the Light of this Bill, a comprehensive discussion with all the stakeholders should be ensured during the formation of the rules. While fixing the rate of market fee, the fee should be fixed keeping in mind the farmers of rural and scheduled tribal communities of the state. Along with this, special attention should be given to the interests of farmers belonging to small and weaker sections and the stakeholders should be included as special invitees in the Agricultural Marketing Council constituted at the state level.

Notably, several trade bodies and members of the business Fraternity in the State had met the Governor on the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Bill and had requested his intervention on the same. Minister, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department, Badal and Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Secretary Abbu Baqr Siddiqui had met the Governor recently at Raj Bhawan and informed the Governor about the work being done by the department. On the occasion, the provisions contained in the Jharkhand State Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2022 were highlighted by the Minister and Departmental Secretary. The Governor had said that such bills should be made which are in the public interest and do not put additional financial burden on the people.

Model schools to reduce dropout rates in Bihar’s Gaya

In a bid to ensure decline in school dropout ratio, promote digital Literacy and online Education through projector based smart classes, as many as 50 upgraded government schools will be developed into model schools across the district.

The objective of building a model school is to reduce the dropout rate and improve quality of education. Online education will be promoted through projector-based smart classes. Children will be provided more facilities. Computer labs will be also set up in such schools to promote digital literacy.

In the state, 23 thousand acres of land has been freed from such Elements. This land will be distributed among the poor.

45% rape cases registered last year in Rajasthan false: DGP Umesh Mishra

The registration of false rape cases has gone up to 45% last year in the state, said director general of Police (DGP) Umesh Mishra in the city on Monday, while stating that the crime data has shown an increase because the state police filed FIRs promptly when they received complaints.

The number of FIRs does not reflect an increase in crimes and showed that the police have registered cases fairly, Mishra said while addressing a press conference at the police headquarters and sharing the crime data.

Coal Ministry Targets 1017 million ton Production in 2023-24

The target of all India coal production has beenfixed at 1017 Million Ton (MT) for the financial year 2023-24.steps taken by the Government to increase domestic coal production by engaging Mining Developers cum Operators (MDOs)

(i) Coal India Limited (CIL) has identified 15 projects with total project rated capacity of 168.58 MTY for implementation through MDO mode. Out of these 15 projects, Letter of Award (LoA) has already been issued to nine projects having total capacity of 126.74 MTY.

(ii) NLC India Limited (NLCIL) is implementing two MDO projects with 29MTY.
