Haryana bags 3rd position in MSME sector

Haryana has been ranked third at the national level for remarkable work done in the MSME sector. PM Narendra Modi presented the award to Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala at the MSME National Award function held in New Delhi.

Two state MSMEs also received Awards during the event. Harjinder Kaur Talwar got the first prize for small service enterprise in the Women category and Rishabh Gupta got the third position in the overall category for manufacturing micro enterprise. Chautala said along with big industries, Haryana remained among the top performing states in terms of medium and small-scale industries.

There are 9.7 lakh MSMEs and the state has launched several schemes to boost their performance.

Congress rule further pushed Punjab into debt trap, says CAG report

Quite contrary to the tall claims made to bring Punjab out of the fiscal mess five years back, the five-year Congress rule pushed the state further into vicious debt trap, says a latest report by the Comptroller Auditor General (CAG) tabled in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday.

As per the the State of Finances Report for the financial year 2020-21, it was found that the outstanding total debt of the state was Rs 2,49,673 crore (47.13 per cent of Gross State Domestic Product) as on March 31, 2021. In just four years of the Congress rule, between 2017-18 and 2020-21, the states debt increased by Rs 54,521 crore.

Total debt of the typically constitutes internal debt of the state (market loans, ways and means advances from the RBI, special securities issued to National Small Savings Fund and loans from financial institutions, etc.), loans and advances from the Central Government, and public account liabilities.

Mandi features in ‘Uttam’ category on performance index by Education Department

The performances of various districts in Himachal has marginally improved and Mandi figured in the Uttam category in the performance grading index for districts released by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, on Monday.

The index has been released for 2018-19 and 2019-20 and Mandi district, which improved its score from 357 out of 600 in 2018-19 to 388 in 2019-20, figures in the Uttam category (61-70 per cent).

Meanwhile, Kangra, Shimla, Hamirpur, Una, Kullu, Bilaspur, Kinnaur and Chamba with scores between 300 and 359 are in the PrachestaI category (51 to 60 per cent) and Sirmaur, Solan and Lahaul and Spiti with scores between 270 and 300 are in the PrachestaII category (41 to 50 per cent).

The score card is based on performance of districts on 83 indicators in six domains, namely outcome, effective classroom transaction (ECT), , facilities, student entitlements, school safety and child protection, digital Learning and Governance process.

Uttarakhand: Experts spot 107 bird and 45 butterfly species in Gangotri

A team of experts on a week-long tour of theGangotrilandscape spotted 107 bird, 45 butterfly species and several moths and wildflowers in the region. The second biodiversity-linked community ecotourism tour was organised in the Gangotri landscape from June 19-25, to showcase the potential of nature-linked ecotourism.

A six-member team from Bengaluru, Chennai, Kanyakumari, Jaipur, Delhi and Hong Kong visited the Gangotri landscape to watch birds, butterflies, moths and wildflowers.

The visitors were accompanied by a team of experts from Titli Trust, as part of a biodiversity assessment being done for theUttarakhand Biodiversity Board. The visitors were lodged at homestays in Barsu, Sukhi Top andCholmi(near Harsil). The tour was supported byMadhvendhra Rawatof the eco development committee and biodiversity management committee, Harsil.

UP district tops e-registration of consumer complaints

The district consumer commission of Mainpuri inUttar Pradeshhas registered the maximum number of consumer complaints under e-Daakhil since the scheme to launch grievenaces was launched at the national level. The district commission also has the lowest rate of rejection of cases filed online.

According to data, Mainpuri has accepted 227 complaints through e-Daakhil, which is the highest in the country. The South West Delhi District Commission has the second highest number of accepted cases (183), followed by Sangli (161 cases) inMaharashtra. This also shows that while 18,320 complaints have been filed online by the consumers so far in district, state and national consumer commissions, only 6,815 (37%) have been accepted so far.

So far 31 states and UTs have launched the e-Daakhil.

Envisaged over 16 years ago, the work for the centre began in 2019 after the then CMRaghubar Dassanctioned a budget of Rs 8.20 crore. Three years later, the centres enclosures for deer, leopards and primates and a moat for the bear have been readied.

BSPCB to facilitate study onhuman health, environment

TheBihar State Pollution Control Board(BSPCB) has invited proposals from institutions of the state engaged in active research work for making a collaborative study on various aspects of human Health and pollution control.
BSPCB chairman Ashok KumarGhoshsaid the decision to invite proposals for the betterment of human health and Environment was taken at a meeting of the representatives of different institutions held at the board headquarters.

The proposals for integrated research have been invited on topics like development of technology and innovative solutions for pollution control, multi-disciplinary approach towards the solution of environmental problems and statewide and region-wide specific studies

LOA distribution for Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project

Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project, the India’s largest and one of the world’s biggest projects 600 MW, under which Letter of Award distributed to the Developers selected for the project of 278 MW capacity in the first phase by Principal Secretary of New and the Department and Chairperson of Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited, Sanjay Dubey and CEO of Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited. and the Managing Director of MP Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd., Karmveer Sharma during the program organized at Urja Bhawan, Bhopal.

The 600 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar project at reservoir of Narmada river is being constructed in two phases. Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project will be Madhya Pradesh’s first, Country’s largest and one of the World’s largest floating solar projects. Till now, solar projects were developed on land, but innovative steps have been taken by the State Government and RUMSL to give concrete shape to the concept of developing solar projects on water too, to save precious land.

The floating solar project is being implemented under the ‘Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks Scheme (UMREPP)’ of MNRE. The entire 600 MW of power generated from Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project will be procured by the State Discoms (through MPPMCL). Hence, this project will also help the State to comply with the RPO target.

Gujarat: Govt approves projects of drinking & irrigation water to 135 villages

In an important decision aimed at redressing the water crisis inGujarat, chief minister Bhupendra Patel has approved several projects to provide water to 135 villages ofBanaskanthaandPatanfor drinking andirrigation.

The CM approved Rs 1,566.25 crore for laying 78-km long Kasara-Dantiwada life-Irrigation pipeline under theSujalam Sufalam Yojnaand 33-km long Rs 191.71 crore for theDindrol-Mukteshwar pipeline.

The lift-irrigation-based pipelines are ready, and the eastern parts of Banaskantha, which were bereft of Narmada water, will get reliable sources of water.

The Sujalam-Sufalam Yojna was launched in 2004 to ensure that Narmada waters reach maximum areas. Under this scheme, 12 out of the total 14 pipelines drawing water from Narmada Main Canal have already been completed to supply water to North Gujarat districts.
