State env, energy dept working to reduce power plant pollution: Aaditya

Almost a week after state Environment ministerAadityaThackeray issued directives to immediately stop dumping of toxic flyash slurry in Nandgaon, Shiv Sena spokesperson (East Vidarbha) Shilpa Bodkhe inspected the site on Tuesday following the ministers order.

As reported by TOI recently, state power generation company Mahagenco has stopped discharging flyash in the village. A team of officials from the Union environment ministry also carried out a spot inspection of different locations where water sources are being contaminated due to flyash discharge from Koradi and Khaparkheda thermal power plants.
