Rename govt schools named after caste: Min

ThePunjabgovernment has ordered to rename all government schools that have been named on the basis of caste and .

The orders were issued by Punjab school Education ministerHarjot Singh Bains, who stated that several cases came to his notice regarding the names of schools being associated with a caste, which makes them feel uncivilised in the present era. He said all the students, irrespective of religion and caste, were being given equal education in the government schools.

The minister said Punjab is the land of gurus, saints, and great prophets, who have taught humanity to stay away from casteism and all kinds of discrimination.

The Himachal Police have launched a Cyber Crime Investigator Badge, which will be one of a kind initiative among all states

police forces in the country to reward those excelling in investigation in such cases.

It will be a new reward scheme for cyber crime investigation and will be given twice in a year by the DGP to young police officers who excel in the upcoming field of cyber-crime investigation. It will motivate them to specialise in the field of cyber-crime investigation and also give them a unique identity.

Uttarakhand: Schools with fewer students to be merged with big ones

Theeducation departmenthas decided to merge schools having less than five students in the hills and less than 10 in the plains with the nearest larger ones across the state from the 2023-24 academic session to better utilise Resources and resolvestaff crunch.

Officials said block Education officers in every district have been tasked with identifying such primary and high schools and

a final list will be compiled by January 2023. While the exact number of such schools was yet to be determined, the officials said, adding the figure could be around 3,000. According to theRTE rules, a primary school should exist at every km, a middle school every 3 km, high school every 5 km and intermediate at every 7 km.

Govt subsidy to industry on basis of job creation

To create jobs for people fromUttar Pradesh, the has decided to provide subsidy to industries on the basis of the EMPLOYMENT they generate.
Chief MinisterYogi Adityanathhas asked officials to visit industries regularly to ensure they are meeting the criteria for providing local employment.

The policy also has the provision for a booster subsidy on employment of 75% Women, besides meeting the minimum requirement.

In addition to the subsidy laid out in the policy, large and mega industries would get an additional subsidy of 2% each, while super mega and ultra mega industries will get booster subsidies of 4% each if they employ

at least 75% women in their work force. This subsidy may also be extended to industries if they employ 2-3 times as much work force as has been assigned to their category.

Chief ministerNitish Kumar, who reviewed the works of the arts, culture and youth affairs department at a meeting held here on Thursday, asked the officials concerned to simplify the official processes for clearance and provide all facilities to the interested filmmakers so that they don’t face any problems in film shooting in the state.

The CM said filmmaking in the state would not only promote tourism, but also provide opportunities to local artists and create new job opportunities.

The state government is setting up a film city in Rajgir, a prominent tourist town in Nalanda which is the Home district of Nitish, while several other sites located amid hills and other natural surroundings are being developed to draw the attention of filmmakers. Shekhodewra, a village located in Nawada district, is one such location which has been especially developed for the purpose in the state.

Maternal mortality rate in Chhattisgarh dips to all time low

The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Chhattisgarh has fallen to an all-time low of 137.

A communiqu from the Health Department said that MMR, which was 159 between 2016-18, fell due to special attention given to the health of pregnant andlactating Women as well as infants.

A special bulletin from the office of the Registrar General on Monday said the MMR has dipped 22 points.

MMR is defined as the number of maternal deaths per 100,000 live births due to pregnancy or termination of pregnancy, regardless of the site or duration

of pregnancy.

The maternal mortality rate is used to represent the risk associated withpregnancy among women.

Between 50 to 98 percent of maternal deaths are caused by direct obstetric causes (hemorrhage, infection and hypertensive disorders, ruptured uterus, hepatitis and anemia). Deaths are also linked toillegally induced abortion

153 government schools to get smart classrooms in Madhya Pradesh

As many as 153government schoolsacross the state to havesmart classroomsfor students of classes one to eight for the academic session 2022-23 under the ICT and digital initiatives for e-Learning. While there are as many as three forIndoredistrict, over 20 are allocated for the schools of Indore division.

Among the districts of Indore, Barwani will have one smart classroom, Alirajpur, Burhanpur and Khandwa districts have been allocated four classrooms each. Dhar district is to get three smart classrooms

and as many as two are planned for Jhabua and Khargone districts.

A budget of Rs 2.40 lakh has been allocated for each school as per the plan to procure two desktop computers (i3-12 generation), two LED TV 65” (Smart TVandroid), and two UPS 600 VA (30 minutes back-up). The department has also stated the technical specifications of the items that are to be procured.

Worlds Tallest Pier Bridge in Manipur

The Indian Railways is creating the highest pier RAILWAY bridge in the world in Manipur.

Highlights:

The grand scheme of the Railways in Manipur is part of the Jiribam-Imphal railway line.

This will ultimately be part of a new broad gauge line being constructed to connect the northeastern state with the rest of the country.

The tallest pier bridge account is currently owned by a 139-metre high Mala-Rijeka viaduct built at Montenegro in Europe.

The

bridge is being constructed at a height of 141 metres. The total length of the Manipur bridge will be 703 metres.

Once finished, the project will allow passengers to cover 111 km of distance in 2-2.5 hrs.

IIT-G, Aus institutes tie up on water management
