With 17% share, Uttar Pradesh still Indias top milk producer

Accounting for 17% share in India’s total production,Uttar Pradeshcontinues to be the largestmilkproducing state of the country. Rajasthan, with 11.5% share and Andhra Pradesh, with 9% share, are at number two and three respectively.

The production of milk in UP rose from 277 lakh metric tonnes in 2016-17 to 318 lakh metric tonnes in 2019-20, indicating an increase of 41 lakh during the period.

According to statistics put out by the , UP has produced 1,242 lakh metric tonnes of milk in the past four years. A state government spokesperson said that six big companies, including Amul, have set up their Dairy Plants in UP at a cost of Rs 172 crore in the past four years while work is underway on establishing seven others. Besides, 15 investors have offered to set up their units in the state.

The UP government is also constructing cow protection centres and

a Govansh Vanya Vihar to enhance milk production in the state. The construction of 118 such centres has already been completed.

Jharkhand: First Sanskrit school in East Singhbhum named after Dr APJ Abdul Kalam

A Muslim-owned organisation named Abdul Hanan Memorial Educational, Welfare and Charitable Society, (AHMEWCS) here will open the first Sanskritschoolin the district next month on the occasion of Teachers Day.

TheJharkhand Academic Council(JAC)-affiliatedSanskritschool, which is named after former President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, will conduct primary and secondary

classes.

AHMEWCS has been running two schools — APJ Abdul Kalam High School and APJ Abdul KalamInter College– since 2008 and a total of 2,000 students are enrolled in the two schools.

Railways plans to build MEMU terminal on Hardinge Park land in Patna

The ambitious plan of the railways to build a mainline electric multiple unit (MEMU) terminal on theHardinge Parkland inPatnaon the pattern of Mumbais Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus is likely to gain momentum with the Patna recently allowing the State Government to transfer the land, measuring about 4.5 acres, to the railways for the expansion of Patna Junction.

The railways will build office complex and other utilities, including ticket booking centre, at the proposed terminal. A multi-storey building will also be built on the land.
According to the CPRO, initial consultations with technical experts focused on the need to develop crowd management programme at the Hardinge Park land. The proposed terminal will be located close to main roads leading towards Patna

Junction and other prime locations in the city. Railways intends to build a multi-purpose terminal, ensuring smooth flow of traffic during peak hours, he said.

Chhattisgarh govt disburses Rs 1,522 crore to 21 lakh farmers under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana

The Chhattisgarh government has transferred Rs 1,522 crore to the bank accounts of about 21 lakh farmers under theRajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana(RGKNY). The transfer was made to coincide with the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

This was the second of the 4 installments of the scheme, under which the government will disburse a total of Rs 5600 crore.

Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said that from the

2021 season, RGKNY has been expanded to include paddy as well as some other .

The scheme was implemented in the year 2020 to provide fair price to farmers, boost productivity of Kharif crops and encourage crop diversification.

An amount of Rs 3 crore 49 lakh was also transferred online to cattle rearers, Gauthan committees and Women self-help groups under the Godhan Nyay Yojana for cow dung purchased from them. About 45 per cent beneficiaries of this scheme are women.

The Chhattisgarh government is also starting Rajiv Gandhi GrameenBhoomheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojanato provide financial help to landless agricultural laborers.

Under the scheme, Rs 6000 will be given annually to rural families who do not have agricultural land and are associated with MNREGA or agricultural wages.

Various Projects Inaugurated PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of more than one project in Somnath, Gujarat on August 20, 2021, by way of video conferencing. Somnath Promenade: This mission is developed underneath PRASHAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) Scheme, at a price of over Rs. forty seven crore.

Somnath Exhibition Centre: This centre has been developed on the premises of Tourist Facilitation Centre. It shows the famous dismantled parts of the ancient Somnath temple and its sculptures having Nagar style temple structure of historical Somnath.

Reconstructed temple precinct of Old (Juna) Somnath: This temple is also known as Ahilyabai Temple due to the fact it was once built through Queen Ahilyabai of Indore. The reconstructed assignment has been achieved via Shree Somnath Trust with a total

outlay of Rs 3.5 crore.

Foundation Stone: The task for which the foundation stone was laid was Shree Parvati Temple. Total outlay of the mission is Rs. 30 Crore. The challenge includes the construction of the temple in Sompura Salats Style, improvement of Garbha Griha and Nritya Mandap.

Rajasthan: Fix plan to hire people with disabilities for NREGA work, says court for specially abled persons

The court for specially abled persons has issued a notice to the states rural development and department directing it to formulate a plan for finalising a fixed number of PwDs (persons with disabilities) to be recruited for MGNREGA work in the state annually.
InRajasthan, the State Government has already

increased the number of days of work for PwDs under the scheme by 100 days. Giving a reminder to the department, the court directed it to take action in the matter as per rules and inform the court about the same.

TheArunachal Pradesh Governmentaims to innoculate 100 percent of the state’s population against Covid-19 by mid-August, chief minister Pema Khandu said.

As many as 7,91,371 doses of Covid-19 Vaccines have been administered in Arunachal Pradesh so far, including 6,42,785 first doses and 1,48,586 second doses, according to theUnion Health Ministry. As per the 2011 census, the state’s Population is about 12.6 lakhs.

There are currently 4,384 active Covid-19 cases in the state. A total of 39,634 recoveries and 204 deaths have been reported so far.

The state agriculture department has decided to promotejackfruit cultivation, its processing and value addition on a mission mode following a discussion at a recent high-level meeting attended by senior officials.

“It was decided that the local elite landraces ofjackfruithaving desired quality for raw consumption as well as production of the value-added product will be identified by the directorate to meet the market requirement,” said an official source.

The meeting chaired by development commissionerP K Jenaand Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture production commissioner R K Sharma decided to encourage grafted jackfruit plantation to reduce the gestation period once quality grafts are produced in horticulture farm.

The State Government will also constitute an expert advisory committee for creating resource and knowledge base for the promotion of jackfruit cultivation and Marketing of jackfruit products. Experts from national level institutes andKerala Jackfruit Missionare likely to be included in the committee.

As the state government has no
