Anganwadi-ASHA workers, HMs told to notify births & deaths

Government school headmasters (HM),anganwadiworkers and accredited social Health activists (ASHA) will now have to notify births and deaths in their jurisdiction. Local self-government department (LSGD) has published an extraordinary gazette notification regarding the same. LSGD cited a Supreme Court judgment that had directed all states/UTs on the same.

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (ii) of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 (Central Act 18 of 1969) the Government ofKeralahereby specify ASHA, anganwadi workers and headmasters of government schools to notify every birth or death or both at which he or she attended or was present or which occurred in the area under their jurisdiction to the registrar within the time limit prescribed under the Kerala Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 1999.

In all likelihood, the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, which requires around Rs 2,000 crore per month, will be rolled out on Varamahalakshmi day or during Gauri Ganesha festival. As far as Yuva Nidhi is concerned, its implementation will also take time since the government has decided to extend the benefit to students graduating from colleges this academic year and the results of some courses are awaited.

Telangana to house world’s first 3D printed temple

Telanganais all set to house what is being claimed as the worlds first 3D printed place of worship with Hyderabad-based construction playerApsuja Infratechjoining hands with Mumbai-based additive manufacturing solutions providerSimpliforge Creations.

The3D printed temple, which is coming up at Apsuja Infratechs upcoming project at Siddipet, is a three-part structure spread over 3,800 sq ft and 30 feet in height and is slated to be completed by July. The 3D structure is expected to take 2-3 months from start to finish vis a vis a conventional construction which would have taken more than double the time.

The structure is being 3D printed by Simpliforge, which claims to have Indias first and South Asias largest Robotics construction 3D printing facility, with the help of their in-house developed system and indigenously developed material and Software.

The 3D printed temple will have three sanctums a modak dedicated tolord Ganesha, a square Shivalay devoted to Lord Shankar and a lotus-shaped one for Goddess Parvati. While the Shivalay and Modak have been completed, the construction of the lotus and tall spires (Gopurams) are already underway.

Agri dept to hold organic mela in Vizag

The state Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture department will conduct Organic Mahotsav-2023 inVisakhapatnamon June 2.

According to the officials, this will be a high-quality platform for exhibition stalls by domestic, national, and international participants such as farmers, NGOs, and government and other private players. Officials are expecting 100 crore worth memoranda of understaning (MoUs) in the sector during the three-day expo. About 50,000 people may visit the expo.

This expo will be organised by the Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (a government corporation for farmers Empowerment) at Gadiraju Palace. This is for the first time thatRySSis organising the mela. The objective is to encourage farmers practicing natural farming and connect them with consumers, within the country and outside.

Goa’s Corjuem Fort to witness heritage tourism

Emphasizing the need to promote heritage tourism in Goa, Aldona MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira said that theCorjuem Fortwill be promoted and various events, including an annual Corjuem festival, will be held at the fort.

The Corjuem fort was built in 1550 and was originally the property of the Bhonsle rulers of Sawantwadi. However, in the time of Viceroy Caetano de Mello e Castro the fort was annexed part of administration of Goa. The fort was declared as a protected monument under the Goa, Daman and Diu Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1978, 1 of 1979 and its rules 1980.

Maharashtra Government launched Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana

The Maharashtra governmenthas recently launched a new financial scheme aimed at providing support to farmers in the state. The scheme, known asNamo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana,was approved at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shinde.

Financial Assistance for Farmers:Under the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana, farmers in Maharashtra will receive an annual payment of Rs 6,000. This financial aid is in addition to the amount of Rs 6,000 that farmers already receive in instalments per year from the Centres Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The scheme aims to provide an extra boost to the income of farmers and enhance their financial stability.

Beneficiaries and Approval:More than one crore farmers in Maharashtra are expected to benefit from the state governments Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana. This initiative is part of the governments efforts to support the agricultural community and improve their overall well-being.

Initiative Announced in the Budget:Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also serves as the states finance minister, had initially announced the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana in the budget for the financial year 2023-24. Soon, 60 waterbodies to fortify Aravali Green Wall, 15 in city

TheHaryanagovernment will develop 60 lakes and ponds in the Aravalis of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Nuh and Rewari as part of the Union Environment ministrys Green Wall initiative to revive the ancient hills.

Launched in March this year, the project is inspired by Africa countries’ Great Green Wall initiative and aims to restore green cover on the hills that stand as the only barrier blocking the expansion of desert-like conditions from Thar to northwest India, including Delhi-NCR.
The goal is to restore around 1.15 million hectares (MHA) of the forests across four states by 2027. For this, the central government has set up project units in every Aravali district.

A 2022 report by the IndianSpaceResearch Organisation (Isro) had found that around 8.2% of Haryanas total area or 3.6 lakh hectares had degraded to become more arid over the years. Experts said this was largely the impact of illegal mining and deforestation in the Aravalis.

Punjab to come up with own crop insurance scheme

The has decided to come up with its own crop Insurance policy, rather than implementing the Centres Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

The main reason being cited for the state governments resistance to joining the PMFBY was that the scheme was optional and farmers not willing to opt for crop insurance would have to be paid compensation for crop loss by the state government through disaster relief funds. However, it is also a fact that the announcement comes in wake of the widening political gap between the states ruling party Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP at the Centre.

Himachal Pradesh farmers encouraged to cultivate millets

The state Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Department is motivating farmers to cultivate in at least one or two fields and include these in their daily diet to stay healthy. This is being done as this year is being celebrated as International Year of Millets.

He said arrangements were being made under a special action plan to promote natural farming. So far, 14,130 farmers of the district had adopted natural farming on about 1,646 hectares, he added.

About the availability of seeds in the district under various schemes, he said 1,786 quintals of wheat, 2,246 quintals of maize and 127.6 quintals of paddy seeds had been distributed among farmers.

Dhami govt announce scholarship scheme for college students

After initiating a Scholarship scheme for the students of the government schools of the State, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government has come up with a scholarship plan for the students of the government colleges of the State.

Under the scheme, the students securing first, second and third ranks in their respective colleges and streams at undergraduate level would be given a scholarship of Rs 3000, Rs 2000 and Rs 1500 per month respectively. In the Post Graduate (PG) level the scholarship would be Rs 5000 per month for the student securing first rank, Rs 3000 per month for second rank holder and Rs 2000 per month for the student holding third rank. The students would have to secure at least 60 per cent marks and should have more than 75 per cent of attendance to be eligible for scholarship.
