TN developing competitive locations as EV hubs in state

As part of its effort to build an EV hub to complement the internal combustion engine (ICE) auto hub in Nadu, the State Government is in the process of developing specific connected and integrated locations for both the domestic and export markets.

Tamil Nadu accounts for 10.3% of electric vehicles sold in India right now up from 6.4% in 2019. In 2021, nearly 3% of the vehicles registered in TN were EVs and by 2030 this number is projected to go over 30% of the fleet in the state, said Moinuddin. To allow the ICE to EV transition, the state government is building charging Infrastructure which is one of the biggest constraints in the move towards EV from ICEs.

Tamil Nadu has already emerged as the EV hub of the country

which is evidenced by the Investment commitment and interest of nearly Rs 20,000 crore with a potential of generating over 52,000 jobs across segments of the value chain in EV, EV components, EV battery, technology R&D, EV chargers and charging Services.

Kerala: National award for KITE’s online platform

Ktaka will help India become an economic powerhouse: BCIC

Karnatakas economic potential when realised will help India as a whole leapfrog other countries in a wide range of sectors. That was the message from panelists at a webinar on Friday organised by TOI in PARTNERSHIP with the Bangalore Chamber of and Commerce (BCIC). At the event,BCIClaunched a booklet titled `NammaKarnatakaGateway to India.
BCIC represents large and medium companies in the state and plays an active role in promoting trade and Investment in Karnataka. KR Sekar, partner at Deloitte Touche and president of BCIC, said the organisation also opened a field office in Tokyo to attract capital from Japanese investors. It plans to have a presence in Amsterdam as well.

Link investment subsidy with job creation: Experts

While states like Haryana and Andhra Pradesh are insisting on locals only for jobs in private companies, experts and analysts said it would be in fitness of things to link subsidies withjob creationas a condition to promote EMPLOYMENT potential.

Data shows that approximately 1,880 eligible manufacturing units in Telangana have claimed to have provided 1.93 lakh jobs in the last seven years. This would imply that each unit has generated approximately 100 jobs.

According toYerramraju Behara, a board member ofTelangana Industrial Health Clinic Limited(TIHCL), companies claims on jobs should be taken

with a pinch of salt because the standard Industry norm now is for every crore worth of investment, six jobs should be generated in an MSME.

The State Government has sanctioned Rs 1,365 crore as an SGST reimbursement subsidy with the exception of 40 types of industries. The rest of the MSMEs in the state are eligible for the incentives. Units are eligible for a variety of incentives, ranging from land cost subsidies to power subsidies and SGST reimbursement. The next instalment payment proposal of Rs 600 crore is ready from this Rs 1,365 crore.
Another estimate is that job creation can be considered good by manufacturing units when 7 per cent or more of the cost of production is spent on human Resources.

TTD, NTPC to sign MoU for solar projects at Tirumala

The TirumalaTirupatiDevasthanams (TTD) will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) to commission solar PV power projects at Tirumala and Tirupati and purchase generated from these projects.

The TTD trust board under the chairmanship of Y V Subba Reddy recently gave its nod to the administrative top brass to go ahead with the proposals. Following a series of meetings and inspections, NVVN representatives agreed to TTD’s proposals of commissioning solar power Plants

at multiple locations in the hill town.

While the capital cost for the project will be borne by NVVN, the TTD will provide land for 25 years.

Power generated will be purchased by the TTD for 25 years at a price determined by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC).

E-governance, ease of biz, far from expectations: GCCI

Despite an improvement in Indias ranking in the rankings, Industry reforms, poore-Governanceand delayed payments continue to thwart the micro and small scale industries (MSME), particularly in Goa, the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) said.

Submitting a list of recommendations on the draft MSME policy, the GCCI has asked the Centre and Goa to focus on digitisation, import substitution, hassle-free funding and an end to licence raj.

The GCCI said that facilitation centres should be set up at the district-level with a focus on training programmes, Skill development, quality enhancement and testing centres. Deterrents also need to be put in place to penalise large organisations that perennially delay payments to MSMEs.

The industry body said there is a need to develop MSME clusters that focus on similar products.

Maharashtra to study fee structure of med education in Ukraine, Russia

The Maharashtra government has taken note of fee structures for medical Education in Ukraine and Russia and officials have been instructed to see if such facilities can be given to students in the state, state minister Amit Deshmukh said.

Speaking to reporters here, the state medical education minister said the will study the reasons for students travelling abroad for education.

The government has taken a note of the fees for medical education in Russia and Ukraine. We shall study the reasons that why these students are going abroad, Deshmukh said. Some work needs to be done to ensure that students planning to go abroad can get those facilities here, he said, adding that the Centre and state governments can work on this together.

ASHA workers to be covered under AB-PMJAY

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today granted formal administrative approval to cover ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).

that Nambardars, chowkidars, ASHA, anganwari and MGNREGA workers, street vendors, rickshaw-wallahs and auto drivers will also be covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Vij said the National Health Mission, Haryana, had allocated Rs248.11 lakh to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, to implement this project (Project Implementation Plan 2022-23) to cover ASHA workers in the Ayushman Bharat scheme, for which the proposal had already been sent to the Centre.

8.82 lakh unemployed in Himachal Pradesh, job creation a challenge for govt in poll year

As per the figures cited by the Industries and Labour Department, the number of youth registered in EMPLOYMENT exchanges across the state stands at 8,82,269. In reality, the count would be much higher as there would be many who havent got themselves enrolled for jobs. The Congress puts the figure at 14 lakh. Successive governments, both of the BJP and Congress, have tried to provide succour to the huge contingent of unemployed youth by announcing an Unemployment allowance. It was the late Virbhadra Singh who first announced unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500 for the differently abled, subject to certain

eligibility criteria, just before the 2017 Assembly poll. The BJP government too continued with the practice. It has provided this allowance to 76,855 youth in the last three years, indicating that the benefit goes to just a small segment. With limited job avenues in the government sector and the near-absence of in most parts of the state, barring the border districts of Kangra, Solan, Una and Sirmour, unemployment remains the most crucial issue. NFDB to help Govt to promote fish production in State

National Development Board (NFDB), Chief Executive, Dr C Suvarna was on a visit to Jharkhand to inquire about the progress of Blue Revolution and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in Jharkhand and technical changes taking place in fisheries here. On the second day of Jharkhand tour, Suvarna visited the retail fish market built in Deoghar district and Amit Kumar’s recirculatory aquaculture system under Blue Revolution Scheme in the presence of Director Fisheries, HN Dwivedi and Jharkhand and District Fisheries Officer, Deoghar, Prashant Kumar. Along with this, under construction of selected beneficiary Pradeep Gupta under PMSSY, a recirculatory aquaculture system of Rs 7.50 lakh, biofloc pond under construction of Kaushalya Devi was also inspected. During the excursion, the work of fish-cum-duck rearing was also seen. Discussions on fisheries development were also held with Manjunath Bhajantri, Deputy Commissioner, Deoghar.
