Rajasthan earns praise for installing oxygen plants under PM Cares fund

Centre praised Rajasthan for installing all the 51 Oxygen generation Plants allocated to the state under PM Cares fund. For the preparation of third wave of Covid-19, the state is installing around 545 oxygen plants, out of them 51 were allocated by the Centre under PM Cares fund which have now become functional and ready for use.

The Centre had sanctioned pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants under PM Cares fund across the country.

Fast-tracking the oxygen plants was the focus of the Health department in the state as the second wave of Covid-19 had done a lot of damage due to shortage of oxygen.

Since contribution of different government departments and Central agencies was required, a coordinated effort was required for setting up the plants. At some places in remote and rural areas of the state, electricity supply was an issue. For ensuring proper power supply, pillars were erected and power was supplied to the oxygen plants.

Govt allocates Rs 1,000 crore for Jaipur road repairs across Rajasthan

The has allocated a special fund of Rs 1,000 crore to carry out repair ofroadsin city limits across the state. After the chief ministers announcement in the budget for financial year 2021- 2022, the work will be initiated soon in 213 Urban Local Bodies. Instead of civic bodies, the work will be carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD).

Jodhpurreceives lions share of the budget as total allocation of Rs 50 crore has been made for road repairs. While Rs 27.40 crore will be spent in Jodhpur north, approximately Rs 22.06 crore will be spent in Jodhpur south Municipal Corporation.
In Kota also, the allocation of funds was higher than the state capital. In Kota North and South, Rs 18.81 crore and Rs 26. 98 crore have been allocated respectively.

Govt likely to pass 5 to 8 bills in assembly session

The has set the target to pass five to eight bills in the last assembly session starting from July 14. Sources confirmed that bills, includingMahatma GandhiMinimum Guaranteed Income Bill, Gig Workers (Registration & Welfare) Bill, Marwar Medical University Bill, and Jobner Veterinary University, are set tosailthrough the assembly.
An amendment is also likely in theRajasthanPublic Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill, 2022, to make punishment harsher.

The Rajasthan Transparency and Social Accountability Bill (RTSAB), being pressed for by the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan for the last 10 years, is likely to miss the last session of the assembly. Sources confirmed that objections to the bill raised by the bureaucrats have not been resolved.

The fate of the bills uploaded on the assembly web portal, like the Rajasthan Advocates Protection Bill, Rajasthan Universities Teachers (absorption of temporary teachers) Bill, Rajasthan Control of Organised Crime Bill, Rajasthan Municipalities Amendment Bill, and Rajasthan Prisons Bill, is not known as yet.

Panchayat samitis in Rajasthan to get skill development centres

The plans to train 1 lakh youths by setting up a Skill development Centre (SDC) in each of the 352 gram panchayat samitis.

If each one panchayat samiti trains 200-300 youths, the target of providing training to 1 lakh youths can be easily achieved, he said. RSLDC has already trained around 4 lakh students and interns and out of this, more than 2 lakh have been placed in the Industry.

Govt to launch Raj Lit Incentive award

Musical fountains at Anasagar Lake soon

AjmerSmart City Company will start atrialofmusical fountainsthis month. Three such fountains have been installed around the Anasagar Lake, costing Rs 5.87 crore.

To beautify the city, the smart city company had come up with the plan to install three musical fountains at old Chaupati, new Chaupati and the Lake Front at Pushkar Road.

Jaipur may get its first pet crematorium soon

The city might get its first pet crematorium in recent future. Following a proposal from an organisation, the Jaipur (JMC) Greater is trying to find a suitable place within the city limits that can be used as a crematorium for pets.

For this, the organisation has planned to procure the burner, designed by the researchers of IIT Rourkee, for Rs 5 lakh

Patent wing plan for state varsities finds few takers

Rajasthan State Policy on 2021-26 has failed to attract the universities in the state. The policy has a provision for all state and private universities to develop Intellectual Property Cells (IPC) to boost innovation and creation among the students. Of 87 universities, only eight of them have developed the cell completely.

The policy, supported by the department of Science and Technology, was formally announced in February 2021. Targeting to provide financial and technical assistance to innovators, it provides help in scaling up the project for commercial and academic purposes.

The universities that have adopted the cell are Rajasthan Technical University, Kota University,Rajasthan University, Jai Narain Vyas University, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and Technology, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University, Manipal University and Banasthali University.

Over 15k in Raj gain from skilling scheme

As many as 15,191 people inRajasthanhave benefited from the Centres and Skill development Programme (ESDP) between2018-19 and 2022-23 (up to February 1, 2023). It is just 3.4% of the total ESDP beneficiaries in the whole country, which stands at 4.34 lakh, according to data from the skill development and entrepreneurship ministry.

ESDP scheme runs with the objective of motivating young people representing different sections of the Society, including SC/ST, Women, physically challenged, ex-servicemen andBPLpeople, to consider self-EMPLOYMENT or entrepreneurship as a career option

Only 98,640 jobs, which is 3% of the total 29.28 lakh in the country, were generated under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in Rajasthan in the last five years (from 2017-18 to 2021-22), data from the ministry has revealed.

Rs 423.51 crore was allocated under PMEGP in the last five years, and Rs 381.31 crore of it has been disbursed so far. In Rajasthan, 12,330 units have been assisted under the scheme
