Under this, financial assistance of Rs 7,000 per acre is given to the farmers cultivating other alternative crops in place of paddy.

Apart from this, the benefits of the state government schemes are being given directly to the farmers through digital medium. Punjab govt likely to implement OPS before Gujarat Polls

Facing heat from the employees over the delay in implementing the old pension scheme (OPS), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Punjab Government is planning to implement it soon, especially ahead of the crucial Gujarat assembly where the party is trying to make inroads.

Singh also said that these 5.01 lakh farmers, who have already been registered under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna during last year, need not to re-apply on portal as they will be extended the benefit for next year based on earlier documents but remaining nearly 3.5 lakh farmers registered as J form holders and Sugarcane Weighment Slips after October 1, 2020, would have to apply on portal for availing Health Insurance.

To further improve health conditions of soil of the state, Punjab Government announced to provide 20,000 MT Gypsum on 50 percent subsidy to the farmers.

Eyeing to reduce the burden of tuberculosis (TB), Punjab is all set to use (AI) tools for timely diagnosis and treatment of the disease in government healthcare facilities.

The Health department will be leveraging the technology for analysing chest X-ray images and generating reports, aiding doctors in early diagnosis and initiating treatment.

With the central government setting a target to reduce the incidence of new TB cases by 80% by 2025, timely diagnosis and treatment are crucial in controlling the spread of the disease. Delay in diagnosis not only worsens the disease, but also increases its transmission.

The disease is caused by bacteria (mycobacterium tuberculosis) that most often affects the lungs and is preventable and curable.
