Madhya Pradesh districts with huge outbound population slow in vaccination drive

With around 94% of eligible Population getting at least one dose ofCovid-19 vaccine,Madhya Pradeshis at the top of chart among the ten most-populated states of the country. However, the state missed its own deadline of vaccinating each and every eligible individual with at least the first jab by September 27.

Overall, around 4.78 crore people have taken the first dose against the estimated eligible population of around 5.5 crore. Around 70 lakh people are yet to be vaccinated. Officials attribute this to several factors, including vaccine hesitancy and inaccuracy of population projections.

On the causes behind around 70 lakh people yet to get any dose of vaccine, Suleman said, There could be three reasons: population projections may not be correct as they are more than the voter list. Dead, seriously ill or permanently migrated population in voter list and also temporary Migration and then it could be vaccine hesitancy.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore is going to carry out a study of beat policing in Indore to improve the current system. An escalation in the cases of beat police brutality and callousness towards civilians have been reported by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). The six-month study, to understand and analyse existing practices and recommend a framework for the improvement of the system and suggestion for technology intervention for improvement in beat policing, would be led by Professor Himanshu Rai, director of the IIM.The project is part of a larger memorandum of understanding signed between the IIM and Madhya Pradesh Police to strengthen the professionalism of the parties and to contribute to the development of a better security environment and orderliness at public places through a mutual academic-practitioner collaboration system.

According to the National Police Commission, 2020-2021, although a Sound beat system is the primary building block for successful policing, in many States in India it exists only on paper. The emerging challenges the police face and the introduction of community policing programmes in several areas have led to a realisation among police forces of the need to have a proper beat system to strengthen both professional policing as well as community policing.

The study will focus on multiple issues, including allocation of Resources, usefulness and impact of the beat system, operational issues and practical implications as well as analyse the existing organization structure, assignment of personnel to beats (territory and timings), understand how the beat personnel maintains records and patrolling/routing of beat personnel and coordination with the command centre, among others.

Indore to host World snooker, billiards

The countrys cuesportsconnoisseurs are in for a treat as after a gap of nine years, India will host the IBSF World Snooker (15-red) Championships and the World Billiards Championships in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from October 15-30.

The IBSF events will be held at the Yeshwant Club in Indore, confirmed Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) president S Balasubramaniam on Friday. This will be the first time the country will host both the events in the same year. Bengaluru last played host to both snooker in 2014 and billiards way back in 2008.

India had officially bid for the event last year, by the previous team, and the IBSF confirmation came two days ago, said the BSFI chief. Over 250 cueists from 40-45 countries are expected to take part in both IBSF World events.

Cabinet increases CMs Discretionary grant to Rs 200 cr

The State Cabinet here on Tuesday approved to increase the annual limit fixed for the Chief Ministers Discretionary grant from Rs 150 crore to Rs 200 crore for the financial year 2022-23 and the coming financial years.

The Cabinet has decided to increase the MLA Area Development Fund Scheme (Capital) of Rs 1 crore 85 lakh by Rs 65 lakh in under MLA fund making it Rs 2 crore 50 lakh and Rs 35 lakh in MLA Discretionary grant of Rs 15 lakh making it Rs 50 lakhs.

The Cabinet has decided to sanction a special ex-gratia amount of Rs. one crore to the heirs of Sub-Inspector Late Rajkumar Jatav, Acting Head Constable Late Neeraj Bhargava and Constable Late Santram Meena Aron Police station, Guna district.

The Cabinet has granted in-principle approval to establish medical college with 100 MBBS seats admission capacity and 500-bed affiliated hospital, besides setting up of a Nursing college of 60 seat admission capacity for nursing courses and a paramedical college of 60 seat admission capacity for paramedical courses in Budni Tehsil located in Sehore district.

The Cabinet gave its approval for setting up of Rural Technology Park at Morena. Approval was given to create posts for the operation of Rural Technology Park. Decision was also taken to approve Rs 50 lakh 88 thousand for the payment of salary and allowances for the operation of the park and expenditure of Rs. 1 crore 10 lakh 46 thousand for recurring / training expenses, making provision in the head available for allied organizations / training institutes of the department.

The Cabinet gave revised administrative approval to Chheetakhudri Medium Irrigation Project of Jabalpur district, cost amount Rs 434 crore 21 lakh, irrigation area 16 thousand 875 hectare and Kundalia Multipurpose Major Irrigation Project, Rajgarh district cost amount Rs 4614 crore 73 lakh, irrigated area 1 lakh 39 thousand 600 hectare.

The Cabinet has given revised approval of 25 group water supply schemes worth Rs 11 thousand 100 crore 72 lakh in different districts of the state under Jal Jeevan Mission. Through these water supply schemes of the mission, arrangements will be made to provide tap water to the rural Population of 6223 villages at their homes.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a new pharma policy will be formulated to promote the manufacture of medicines for serious diseases like cancer, black fungus in the State. Our priority will be to make affordable but high quality medicines for critical diseases as per international standards.

Special incentives to firms for medical oxygen production in Madhya Pradesh

Thestate governmenthas decided to provide special financial assistance to units to promote capacity addition of medical Oxygen in the state. In this connection,principal secretaryof Industrial Policy and Promotion Sanjay Kumar Shukla has notified the secretary, Department of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises, Managing Director ofMadhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporationand all the collectors.

Shukla said that basic investment incentive assistance at the fixed rate of 50% on capital investment made on equipment, Plants and buildings (excluding land and residential areas) will be payable to eligible units in the state whose production capacity of oxygen production would be minimum 10 cubic meters per hour. The maximum limit of the said assistance will be Rs 75 crore.

The eligible units will be given a rebate of Re one per unit on the prevailing power tariff. This will be reimbursed to eligible units by MSME or MPIDC. The benefit of this facility will be available for a period of 3 years from the date of commercial production.

The state has come out with a government resolution to set up a panel to offer incentives to prospective buyers of electric vehicles (EV) in the state in the coming months, under Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021.

State transport commissionerVivek Bhimanwarsaid on Monday that a budget of Rs 25 crore is to be disbursed to offer incentives to e-two wheeler and e-car buyers across the state by March 31. “The panel will decide on procedures for disbursal of budgetary provision for incentivising electric vehicles. Another budget of Rs 100 crore is in the pipeline and will be decided for disbursal in the coming months,” he said.

First Indian Geo Park In MP

Lamheta, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh will be Home to India’s first geological park.

Highlights:

Geopark is a united region that promotes the sustainable protection and use of geological heritage. It also contributes to the residents’ economic well-being.

The park was approved by the Geological Survey of India, which is part of the Ministry of Mines. The park will be built with a Rs 35 crore on a five-acre plot of land.

The geological park will be developed in Lamheta since it is one of the world’s most significant geological locations.

William Henry Sleeman unearthed a Dinosaur fossil in this location in 1928. Lamheta has also been designated as a geo historic monument by UNESCO.

Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has said that in order to provide more benefits to the farmers of the State with less effort and less risk, the forest department is encouraging the cultivation of bamboo and making them prosperous by providing grants.

Shah informed that in the last financial year, 3,597 farmers had planted bamboo in 3520 hectare area by the MP State Bamboo Mission Board. A grant of about Rs 7.20 crore was made available to these farmers.

In order to make the self-help Groups self-reliant, 83 self-help Groups planted an area of 1020 hectares under MGNREGA.

The Forest Minister informed that in the current financial year, more than 3 thousand farmers are planting bamboo in an area of 4443 hectares.

For this, a grant of Rs 10.60 crore will be given. Similarly, 46 more self-help groups have been added this year as compared to last year. In this way a total of 129 self-help groups are planting bamboo in an area of 2428 hectares.

From the fourth year of planting, a minimum of 10 bamboos per year grow to a height of about 40 feet. In this way, the same numbers of bamboos are available from 40,000 Plants. Each bamboo is sold for Rs 100. The beneficiary can get a crop of Rs 40 lakh from their sale.

On cultivating bamboo, the beneficiary gets a grant of Rs 120 per plant in three years. A grant of Rs 60 is available in the first year, Rs 36 in the second year and Rs 24 for the third year.
