As a part of serious of webinars planned by the institute before the commencement of the kharif season, the Indore base ICAR- Indian Institute of Soybean Research has today organized a webinar on Organic Farming with about 205 participants from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan representing farmers, scientists and those involved in the dissemination of information i.e. extension workers belonging to the state agricultural departments, ATARIs, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and NGOs. The webinar was delivered by the eminent experts from the eminent scientists from renowned ICAR institutions like Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal and ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal.

Cabinet nods eslablishment of 730 PM Shri Schools in MP

The State Cabinet held at under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ratified the establishment of 730 PM Shri Schools in the state. Maximum 2 schools in each development block of the state (626 in 313 development blocks) and 104 schools in urban bodies of 52 districts, in this way maximum 730 schools have been marked as PM Shri Schools.

One of the identified schools will be run for primary Education (Class I to VIII) and one school for higher secondary education. The cost of PM Shri School will be borne by the Center and the State in the ratio of 60:40. As many as Rs. 277 crore 40 lakh will be spent on all 730 PM Shri Schools every year, out of which the states share will be Rs. 110 crore 96 lakh per year. This project is of 5 years and during this period the expenditure burden of Rs 554 crore 80 lakh will fall on the . After 5 years of the scheme, it will be fully operated by the state government.

It is noteworthy that PM Shri School will include quality of education, Equality and access to education facilities with overall compliance with the provisions of the National Education Policy-2020. These schools will be presented as examples for other schools.

The Cabinet granted administrative approval of Rs 714 crore 91 lakh for a new medical college with 100 MBBS seat admission capacity at Budhni in Sehore district, a 500 bed affiliated hospital, 60 seat admission capacity Nursing college for nursing courses and 60 seat admission capacity college for paramedical courses. Due to the long distance from the medical colleges located in Hoshangabad, Itarsi, Pipariya, Betul and surrounding areas to Bhopal, Jabalpur and Chhindwara, the people of the area will get medical facilities easily.

The Cabinet has sanctioned free government guarantee amount of Rs 29 thousand 400 crores for the period from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, for the procurement of food grains, Public Distribution System and operation of other government schemes and for meeting the deficit under the support price decentralized scheme in the state. Apart from the amount available from the government guarantee, the finance of the remaining amount will be done from the food grain credit limit with higher rate of interest. Out of the free government guarantee, the Food Department has been given the right to reallocate between Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation and Madhya Pradesh State Marketing“>Cooperative Marketing Federation from time to time.

GoI Approval For Renaming Places In MP

The Indian government has approved the renaming of three locations in Madhya Pradesh.

Highlights:

Hoshangabad Nagar will be renamed “Narmadapuram,” Shivpuri will be renamed “Kundeshwar Dham,” and Babai will be renamed “Makhan Nagar,” according to the Indian government.

The MP government, led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, proposes renaming the three locations in Madhya Pradesh in 2021.

The Ministry of Home Affairs gave their Consent to the rebranding (MHA).

Hoshangabad Nagar was renamed Narmadapuram after Hoshang Shah, the first fully anointed Sultan of the Malwa Sultanate of Central India.

Babai has been renamed in honour of Makhanlal Chaturvedi, a well-known journalist and poet.

Makhanlal Chaturvedi was born in Babai, Madhya Pradesh, and in 1992, the government dedicated a national university of journalism and Communication after him in Bhopal.

Chief Minister for simplifying Acts, Rules and Policies

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Bills should be listed by the Department of Law and Legislative Affairs. Upload them on the portal. Simplify Acts, Rules and Policies. Chouhan was reviewing the Department of Law and Legislative Affairs on Tuesday. Departmental Minister Narottam Mishra, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and departmental officers were present.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the updated Acts should be put on the portal. Repeal laws that are not needed. Study for amendments in Acts and Rules. Based on the long-term goals of the department, prepare the vision of the department for the financial year 2022-23 and implement it.

The Chief Minister said that the process of establishment of civil courts in Porsa and Chitrangi should be done expeditiously. Chief Minister Chouhan said that time bound decisions should be taken on mandatory review of laws and recommendations after stipulated intervals.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that an inter-departmental committee has been formed in the state as per the requirement of the Law Commission and the Government of India. Through this, the laws prevailing in the state are being reviewed.

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announces PESA Act rollout to change lives of tribals

Madhya Pradeshgovernment issued the notification to bring into force the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act 1996 (PESA) that aims to empower panchayat bodies to effect development works and allocation of Resources.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the announcement and read out the notification before a gathering of tribals in Indore to mark the martyrdom day of freedom fighter Tantya Bhil. It came just before the panchayat polls were announced.

A fortnight ago, the Centre had asked four laggard states, MP included, to implement the Act.

As per Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS-2016-17), in Madhya Pradesh 28.1% of all adults (38.7% of men and 16.8% of women) (15 years and above) use smokeless tobacco. Gutka and Khaini are the most commonly used form of SLT products.

Smokeless tobacco is a major cause of concern as 50% of the oral cancers in India are linked to them. Madhya Pradesh government needs to develop specific policies to control tobacco epidemic.

This was said in a consultation on Smokeless tobacco and other issues organized by Madhya Pradesh Voluntary Health Association with the support of International Union Against Tuberculosis & Lung Diseases (The Union).

3 protected monuments continue to be under unauthorised possession: CAG

Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) in its report tabled in the state assembly for the year 2020-21 said that in the inspection carried out with the official of directorate of archaeology of the state, it found that unauthorised possession of people on seven of the heritage buildings continues to be there years after they were notified as protected monuments. They include three heritage buildings of Bhopal Sadar Manzil,Moti Mahaland Baradari (Chhatri) in Bhopal.

The report further said that those having unauthorised possession over these buildings include District Administration, local bodies, private companies and individuals. Such heritage buildings are not under the control of the directorate of archaeology even after being declared as protected monuments, said the report.

The report pointed out that section 3 of theMadhya Pradesh AMASR Act, 1964, provides that the may issue a public notice on its intention to declare a building or archaeological place or remnant a protected site two months before its actually done, anyone can lodge an objection over governments notification within 1 month after its published and after two months, the state government may declare the site a protected site after considering objections received over the proposal.

As Madhya Pradesh is preparing a new industrial and EV policy likely to be announced in April, Thiagarajan talking to TOI on the side lines of its MP annual session said, The conventional way of attracting investments by giving land wont work much for MP. The state should boost agri processing and position itself as a research, development and innovation destination.
CIIs western region chairman stressed on the need to generate a talent pool in the state given the rapid pace of manufacturing across the country to fill the skill gap.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Madhya Pradesh Police has worked with the spirit of patriotism and during the difficult times of Corona. When people were confined in their houses, the police personnel and officers put their lives at risk, and took care of the arrangements and helped the people.

Law and order situation is definitely better in Madhya Pradesh, the state is considered as an island of peace. We need to think about an action plan and strategy to maintain better law and order to face the challenges of cyber crime, increasing drug addiction and crumbling Social Values.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is the result of the decision-making capacity and effective actions of the officers of the state police that at present there is no dacoit gang left in the state. Action taken by Hawk Force against Naxalites is a big achievement. It is necessary to break the back of mafias and people of criminal tendency. In the state, 23 thousand acres of land has been freed from such Elements. This land will be distributed among the poor.

18 lakh rural population get piped water, says Madhya Pradesh govt

Piped water is being provided to remote areas and tribal dominated areas underJal Jeevan MissioninMadhya Pradesh. Officials said providing water through tap connections in schools and anganwadis, including rural families in tribal areas is done at rapid pace.

Drinking water has been provided through tap connections to more than 18 lakh rural Population in 20 tribaldominated districts in the state. Since the inception of the mission, about one lakh population has been provided with this facility every month, which is more than 42% of rural households in tribal dominated districts.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that it was with the intention of Har Ghar Nal and Har Nal se Jal that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while announcing Jal Jeevan Mission from Red Fort on August 15, 2019, had said that in the next five years, we will have to do four times more work than the work done in the last 70 years.

In Jal Jeevan Mission, the states have to fulfill their targets by the year 2024. Prime Minister Modi had said that when the country works sincerely to fulfill its resolves, then reforms and changes take place.

Jal Jeevan Mission is providing drinking water to the tribal families living in rural and remote areas of the state through tap connection at a fast pace.
