Lockdown pulls down Madhya Pradeshs GST collection 37% in April

Corona virus triggeredlockdowninMadhya Pradeshduring the second surge has badly hit tax collection in the state affecting the financial Health of the already cashstrappedShivrajgovernment.

Roughly, there has been a 37% decline in theGST collectionof Madhya Pradesh in the month of April, when lockdown was imposed from the middle of the month.

States othersourcesof revenue including income from liquor sales and petrol and diesel also dried up during the lockdown. While the liquor shops were completely shut down, petrol diesel sales went down by about 30% compared to the previous month.

There was a major dent in the revenue accrued to the state as settlement of the State GST (SGST) and the Integrated GST (IGST) of the state.

It went down from Rs 2,021 crore in March this year to only Rs 1,100 crore in April, a decline of almost 46% according to finance department figures.

Madhya Pradesh government to set up music academy, state award in Lata Mangeshkar’s memory

TheMadhya Pradeshgovernment announced to set up a music academy and a museum in memory ofLata Mangeshkarat her birthplace,Indore.
A statue of the singer will also be installed in Indore. Along with these, a state award will be named after Lata Mangeshkar, which would be given to artists on the occasion of her birth anniversary.

The announcement came a day after the legendary singer died at a hospital in Mumbai on Sunday after multi-organ failure.

She was born in a locality near a Gurudwara in Indore on September 28, 1929.

Pithampur is Industrial and employment generating capital of MP

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Pithampur has become an industrial and EMPLOYMENT-generating capital of Madhya Pradesh. Large scale industries have been established here and the flow of for industries is going on. A separate Women Entrepreneurs Park is being set up here for women.

Chouhan was addressing the Employment Day and One District-One Product program in Pithampur. He dedicated development works worth Rs 1371 crore and distributed loans worth Rs.2577 crore to 3 lakh 19 thousand youth to make them self-employed. He also unveiled the statues of Maharana Pratap and Shivaji Maharaj. The Chief Minister also handed over land allotment letters to 21 women entrepreneurs by performing bhoomi-pujan of Mahila Udyami Park.

The Chief Minister said that cultural revival work has started in Madhya Pradesh to establish cultural values. Efforts are being made to bring the statue of Vagdevi, which is presently in England, to Madhya Pradesh again. The legal process is being completed. Shri Mahakal Lok has been built in Ujjain. The work of establishing the statue of Adi Shankaracharya is going on in Omkareshwar.

Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh government is working day and night to provide employment and self-employment to the youth. Recruitments will be made on one lakh vacant government posts in the next one year. Advertisements will be issued for the recruitment of 40 thousand vacant posts in the month of November.

Chouhan said that in Pithampur, 1100 MSME units have an investment of Rs 12 thousand 777 crore and 38 thousand 770 people have got employment. 95 large industrial units are established here, in which Rs 26,320 crore have been invested and 53 thousand 493 people have got employment. In this way a total of more than one lakh people have got employment. The pharma sector of Pithampur has done a wonderful job by delivering medicines in Covid to the world.

He unveiled the ‘logo’ of Bagh Print of Dhar district and distributed GI certificates to the artisans. MoU was signed between MPIDC and FIEO in the presence of the Chief Minister. Shri Chouhan said that the turnover of self-help group women has reached 20 thousand crores. My aim is that my sisters should earn at least 10 thousand rupees per month.

Madhya Pradesh govt yet to set up a single fast track court

Madhya Pradeshgovernment is yet to set up even asingle fast track court, shows a Union Law and ministry reply in the last monsoon session in Lok Sabha.

The reply also showed that the state along with Rajasthan are the only two big states with zero fast track court (FTC). This is when, there are 133 proposed FTC in MP and 93 ones in Rajasthan.

FTCs are for fast tracking the disposal of cases of heinous crimes; civil cases involving senior citizens, Women, children, disabled and litigants affected with HIV-AIDS and other terminal ailments.

FTC’s also disposes civil disputes involving land acquisitions and property/rent disputes pending for more than five years. These courts are set up during 11th financial commission.

The 14th Finance Commission had recommended that the number of FTCs to be established should be 10% of the sanctioned strength of Judicial Officers of the State, showed reply.
MP that has a sanctioned strength of 2021 for judicial officers need around 200 FTC in accordance with finance commission recommendation.

The commission had further recommended the setting up of 1800 FTCs during 2015-2020. But there are 956 functional FTCs in the country.

Bhopal’s first GIS High Voltage substation energized

Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company has innovated and developed the State’s second and Bhopal’s first GIS Substation (Gas Insulated Switch Gear Substation)to provide strength and reliability to the transmission Network of the capital Bhopal.

This is the second GIS sub station of Madhya Pradesh, which is connected to the transmission network of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company. With the commissioning of this substation, power transmission system in the central Bhopal region has been strengthened, another option of Extra High Voltage substation has become available to Bhopal.

MPIDC to develop training modules on basics of exports to assist traders

TheMadhya PradeshIndustrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) will develop training modules on basics of exports, certifications and sector specific details to promote budding entrepreneurs and existing players.

The modules will be developed by a team of experts and consultants working with the department, while for developing sector specific modules, the department may rope in technical institutes.

MPIDC has created a trade portal on which training modules will be available. Kingsly said, The training Videos will have basics of exports, country specific requirements, potential products and country-wise checks. Under the one-district, one-product scheme, we have identified over 65 products and are exploring export opportunities in every district.

At 79%, Madhya Pradesh has highest seroprevalence

Madhya Pradeshhas the highest Covid-19 seroprevalence in the country-wide 4th seroprevalence survey conducted by Indian Council of Medical Research (Icmr). Madhya Pradesh was found to have 79% seroprevalence in the survey. Overall, 67.6% Indians above the age of 6 have seroprevalence according to the survey.

Serological surveys reveal how many people have antibodies against the Coronavirus infection i.e. ratio of people already exposed to the virus. The survey was conducted between June and July, 2021.

The data of the survey released last week shows that after Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar, Gujarat with 75.3% seroprevalence, Chhattisgarh with 74.6% , Uttar Pradesh with 71% and Andhra Pradesh with 70.2% have seroprevalence beyond 70%. Madhya Pradesh is followed by Rajasthan, which has a seroprevalence of 76.2% and Bihar 75.9%. Kerala, which is reporting the highest Coronavirus cases now-adays is at the bottom with 44.4% seroprevalence.

Maharashtra may be having the highest number of Covid-19 patients right from the beginning, but seroprevalence among its people is comparatively low at 58%.

CM to launch registration for Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana on July 4

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has implemented Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana for the Skill development of the youth as well as for the facility of on-the-job training on the lines of learn and earn. On July 4, the Chief Minister will start the process of registration of youth applicants in this scheme. CM Chouhan will also interact with the youths in the programme to be held at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal.

Chief Minister Chouhan has started effective implementation of Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana to boost the skill development potential of the youths of the state and to connect them with EMPLOYMENT. In this scheme, stipend has been arranged for providing skill training to the youth in service sector along with industries. Youth will be given vocational skill training with latest technology and process. In the first phase, one lakh youths are targeted to be trained in employment-oriented skills. The target will be increased as needed. During the training, the youths will get a stipend of Rs 8,000 to 10,000 per month. After passing the prescribed examination after training or after formative assessment, certificate of State Council for Vocational Training will be given by Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Board. For this, companies and service sector have been linked to the scheme. Such industrial and business establishments of the country and state will be eligible under the scheme, which have PAN and GST registration. Till date about 10 thousand 429 establishments have been registered. These also include 23 establishments of other states. About 34 thousand 690 vacancies (training seats) have been created by the establishments.

Under Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana, local resident youths of Madhya Pradesh aged 18 to 29 years are eligible, whose educational qualification is 12th, ITI passed or higher. The selected young students will be called trainees. The stipend payable for each course has been determined on the basis of the prescribed minimum educational qualification. In this, 12th or below class passed youth will be given 8 thousand rupees per month, ITI passed 8 thousand 500, diploma passed 9 thousand and graduate passed or higher educational qualification youth will be given 10 thousand rupees per month stipend.

Give priority to local youth in employment: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that special attention should be given on top priority to the EMPLOYMENT of local youth at the time of establishment of industries and expansion of work of old industrial units.

For promotion, the State Government is extending full assistance as per the provisions of the Industry Policy on setting up of new units in various sectors. He said that eligible children of tribals should be given employment opportunities in these units in tribal-dominated areas.
