As many as 248 urban bodies of the state have acquired certification from ODF++ to ODF++, fulfilling the norms of the Government of India, while being relieved of the problem of open defecation.

Besides, last year, out of 378 bodies of Madhya Pradesh, 108 bodies were successful in obtaining ODF++ certification, this year 248 urban bodies have obtained ODF++ certification. In addition, 71 bodies have been successful in obtaining ODF++ certificate. According to the data, about 2.5 times more bodies passed the rigorous ODF++ examination as compared to previous year.

ODF++ norms are extremely difficult, under which 25 percent of the total available public / community toilets in the body should be of excellent standards. Thee bodies must mandatorily have continuous water supply, arrangement of lighting, sanitary napkins and incinerators etc. The remaining toilets must essentially have basic facilities.

Soyabean meal exports may touch 14L tonne

Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) has estimated exports of soyabean meal from India in the oil year 2022-2023 to touch 14 lakh tonne, higher than the last year.
The oil year 2022-2023 began in October 2022 and will end in September 2023.

Madhya Pradesh is a leading soyabean producing state contributing over 70 per cent to total national output.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that necessary facilities should be made available to encourage micro, small, and medium industries. EMPLOYMENT opportunities increase when industrial units of this category are formed. They should get adequate incentives. Necessary help should be provided even if such units operate the Plants using new technology.

Chouhan was discussing the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Conference to be held in Bhopal in the coming month in the Manthan room of Samatva Bhavan today. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Minister Omprakash Sakhlecha, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Secretary MSME P Narhari, and other departmental officers were present.

It was told that Union Ministers for Micro, Small and Medium enterprises Narayan Rane, and Commerce and Minister Piyush Goyal will be invited to the conference to be held in Bhopal in April.

10-point dip in maternal mortality rate of Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradeshhas reported a ten-point dip in maternal mortality ratio to take it down to 163 in 2017-19, shows a special bulletin of sample registration system on maternal deaths released recently.

The state has a maternal mortality ratio of 173 in 2016-18 in accordance with the SRS bulletin. The MP despite this dip in MMR continued to be in the worst three performing states in the country behindAssam(205) andUttar Pradesh(167), showed a bulletin released in March.

Maternal death is a death of a woman while pregnant or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy, irrespective of the duration and site of the pregnancy, from any cause related to or aggravated by the pregnancy or its management but not from accidental or incidental causes. And, the Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) is defined as the number of maternal deaths during a given time per 100,000 live births during the same time.

SRS bulletin further showed that MP along with eight others continued to remain in Empowered Action Group (EAG) of states, which cumulatively had an Average MMR of 145 that was way higher than national average of 103.

In all states in the country, Madhya Pradesh along with Uttar Pradesh have the highest 14.7% maternal mortality rate i.e., maternal death in pregnant Women of reproductive age group, showed bulletin.

NAAC grading will also be mandatory for private colleges, universities

Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav has said that in order to enhance the quality of education in the state, now private colleges and universities will also have NAAC grading. Soon a guide-line will be issued for this. Yadav was reviewing the departmental activities on Tuesday. Yadav said that the guidelines have been issued by NAAC that colleges and universities which have completed one academic year will be eligible to apply for Provisional Accrediation Certificate. Till now it was a system that only those institutions which have completed six years could apply for NAAC certification.

He said that preparations are also being made to make all the 238 colleges of the state multi-faculty in the context of the new education policy. In order to give priority to Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture in the academic campus, it is necessary to include related subjects like , Horticulture etc. in the curriculum.

This year about 75 thousand students have chosen the subject of organic farming. Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is an agricultural state. With the implementation of the new education policy, the youth will now give a new dimension to the concept of self-reliant Madhya Pradesh by using new modern agricultural techniques.

Soybean meal export takes a hit

High prices of soyabean meal in the international market have hit overseas shipment, denting exporters missing out on the peak export season.

Soyabean meal exports in December are estimated at 90,000 ton as against 3.4 lakh ton in the corresponding period a year ago, according toSoybean Processors Association of India(SOPA). So far in the current oil year until December 3.8 lakh ton soyabean meal is exported from the country as against 6.9 lakh ton in the same period.

Exporters fromIndore, a leading trader center and hub for soyabean meal exporters asMadhya Pradeshis a leading producer of soyabean in the country contributing over 60 per cent in the countrys total output, has claimed a sharp decline in export orders for the next two-three months owing to high prices of local produce.

Exporters said local origin soyabean meal is expensive by about $250-$300 per ton as compared with other countries like Brazil and Argentina.

SOPA had estimated soyabean output at 119 lakh ton, up 14 per cent from the previous year. In Madhya Pradesh, soyabean production was estimated at 52 lakh ton as against 41.7 lakh ton last year.

Detailed guidelines have been issued by the Public Works Department under the new transfer policy of the State Government. Under this, all orders from transfer order to notice of discharge will be issued only through the official e-mail ID of the department.

Principal Secretary Mandloi said that the Transfer Policy 2020-21 issued by the General Administration Department will be strictly followed in the Public Works Department. He said that the department has also issued detailed guidelines for the employees affected by Covid-19 in the past. Except for the district level cadre, the orders of all the Class one, two and three government personnel will be issued from the level. The government employee will be compulsorily relieved within 7 days of transfer; the Chief Engineer of the concerned zone will be responsible for this.

Mandloi informed that the certification of head of office will be mandatory on transfer application with mutual Consent. He has clarified that while scrutiny of transfer proposals, it will be made sure that the eligibility for the charge of the higher post in the eligibility list (time scale pay scale) issued by the department is not affected. The government personnel whose transfers have been done in the past with the coordination of the Chief Minister will be clearly mentioned while preparing the present transfer proposal.

This amount would be increased to Rs 3,000 per month in due course of time. He also announced the setting up of Ladli Behna Sena which will ensure the implementation of the scheme throughout the state. Talking toKumar Shakti Shekharon the sidelines of the event, Chouhan, who is the longest-serving CM not just of Madhya Pradesh but also of theBJP, explained the need to launch the scheme. He denied that his government was facing any anti-incumbency sentiments.
