NTPC Coal Mining Projects extends support to fight against Covid

Amid Covid-19 pandemic NTPC Kerendari Coal Mining Project, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand has provided 350 Isolation Kit to SDM, Hazaribag.

The same shall be distributed to patients under Home isolation treatment with moderate or mild symptoms, the kit consisted of essential medicines for the Covid patients.

The initiative taken by NTPC was appreciated by the local administration.

Under CSR-CD ,Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project,Hazaribag placed into service of Ambulance-cum- Multipurpose vehicle for a period of 6 Months at CHC,Kerendari.

Service of this vehicle has been provided to assist CHC, Kerendari to deal with the present Covid Pandemic. On this occasion, Dr K.Padhan CMO I/C ,PBCMP handed over the Ambulance to Dr Kumar Sanjeev, MO I/C , CHC, Kerendari who thanked NTPC Management for extending support for combating Covid-19.

NTPC Coal Mining projects located in the State of Jharkhand are rendering a helping hand by providing Covid relief through various initiatives e,g installation of Oxygen piping system at RIMS and provision of centralised Oxygen system for critical care at Sheikh Bhikari Medical College, Hazaribagh which included providing oxygen jumbo cylinders.

Jharkhand poorly managed central funds meant for running welfare schemes

BJPs state chief DeepakPrakash evening alleged that theJharkhandgovernment has been trying to mask its failures by falsely accusing the Union Government of not disbursing appropriate funds for running the social welfare schemes here.
Prakash convened a press meet at the BJPs state headquarters in the evening and claimed that the Narendra Modi government had provided Rs 107.67 lakh crore to Jharkhand between 2019 and 2022 (including transfers and grants) but the Hemant Soren-led government poorly managed the funds and failed to put the in use.

Prakash also alleged that the State Government was reluctant in taking the Centres flagship social welfare schemes such as PM Suraksha Yojana,Atal Pension Yojana,Mudra Yojana,Jan Dhan Yojanato the masses. Till evening, JMM did not respond to Prakashs allegations while the Congress party termed the claims as rubbish.

Jharkhand govt to evaluate gap assessment of paediatric units in private clinics, hospitals

In order to strengthen the preparedness ahead of the third wave of Covid-19, the state Health department will conduct agap assessmentof all private paediatric clinics and hospitals in the state. The assessment is aimed at identifying gaps in Resources required for treatingCovid-19patients as per the manual.

In order to ensure availability of required equipment for treating Covid-19 patients, the manual will also record shortcomings in private hospitals for life saving support devices like NIVs, Oxygen concentrators among others.

NFDB to help Govt to promote fish production in State

National Development Board (NFDB), Chief Executive, Dr C Suvarna was on a visit to Jharkhand to inquire about the progress of Blue Revolution and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in Jharkhand and technical changes taking place in fisheries here. She said during the meeting that the Board will provide full support to the fish farmers of the State.

The Chief Executive said that the NFDB is always ready to help the State with technical assistance; the farmers here can be further promoted. Apart from this, she also said that behind this achievement of fish farming in Jharkhand, the guidelines of the officials and the hard work of the fish farmers here are also hidden.

On the second day of Jharkhand tour, Suvarna visited the retail fish market built in Deoghar district and Amit Kumar’s recirculatory aquaculture system under Blue Revolution Scheme in the presence of Director Fisheries, HN Dwivedi and Jharkhand and District Fisheries Officer, Deoghar, Prashant Kumar. Along with this, under construction of selected beneficiary Pradeep Gupta under PMSSY, a recirculatory aquaculture system of Rs 7.50 lakh, biofloc pond under construction of Kaushalya Devi was also inspected. During the excursion, the work of fish-cum-duck rearing was also seen. Discussions on fisheries development were also held with Manjunath Bhajantri, Deputy Commissioner, Deoghar. In order to return to Ranchi, fish seed hatcheries and fish feed sites under construction in Giridih district were also seen under the PMMSY.

51% growth in coal production by NTPC

Coal Mining division of NTPC is maintaining its Growth trajectory and surpassed its earlier record in terms of coal production and sustainable quality fuel supply to NTPC power Plants. With a coal production of 14.55 Million Metric Tonnes till Dec22 in this fiscal compared with 9.65 Million Metric Tonnes of coal production in the same period of previous year, NTPC has portrayed a phenomenal year-on-year production growth of 51%. The four operational coal mines viz. Pakri-Barwadih (Jharkhand), Chatti-Bariatu (Jharkhand), Dulanga (Odisha) and Talaipalli (Chhattisgarh) have contributed to accomplish the highest ever monthly coal production of 22.83 Lakh Metric Tonnes in December22 since inception. So far, the captive mines have delivered 60.95 Million Metric Tonnes of coal to more than 22 power plants of NTPC. In the 3rd quarter of the current fiscal, NTPC has produced 5.79 Million Metric Tonnes coal, the highest ever production in a quarter and dispatched 5.42 Million Metric Tonnes to its power plants, which is the best ever quarter performance since inception. Along with this coal production, NTPC has also attained the highest ever monthly overburden removal of 89.16 Lakh cubic meter in December22 and achieved overburden removal of 448.77 Lakh cubic meter in this fiscal compared with 206.08 Lakh cubic meter in the same period last year, with year-on-year production growth of 118%.

The growth path for NTPC mining division has not been rosy. It is continuously facing numerous issues. With formidable Leadership, spirited workforce and the constant support of District & State Administration, the roadblocks, mainly the agitation of some group of persons with vested interests, could be overcome. Further, with meticulous planning, resource mobilization, and regular monitoring, NTPC has achieved such substantial growth.

Govt to rope in National Geographic to promote Jharkhand globally

TheJharkhandgovernment has decided to rope in theNational Geographic Channel(NGC) to promote the state internationally as a tourist destination. The cabinet on Thursday gave its nod to a proposal in this regard made by the state information and public relations department. TheNGCwill make four documentaries worth Rs 2.37 crore on Jharkhand under the agreement.

The four documentaries will have specific topics such as wildlife, adventure, people and culture and pristine Jharkhand. The exercise is aimed at highlighting the state on the global stage.

In another decision, the cabinet gave its nod to convene the winter session of the assembly from December 16 till December 22 The session will have five working days. The cabinet also gave its approval to the extension of the tenure of theJharkhand Textile and Footwear Policy 2016till August 18 next year and constituted an expert committee comprising finance secretary,SLBCs state convenor andNabardgeneral manager to identify banks in which the can open its accounts for the policy.

A roadmap on Energy Transition in Agriculture sector was unveiled by Minister for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department Badal here on Friday, which posits a visionary policy approach for the next 15 years in the agriculture sector and clearly demarcates the path breaking role of renewable energy in ensuring a low carbon development pathway in the state.

The roadmap has been prepared by Jharkhand Development Agency (JREDA) and Centre for Environment and Energy Development (CEED) in association with Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), which meticulously maps out the infusion and projections of renewable energy in the entire agro value chain. The conference set out policy level discussion with the key aim to address the structural problems in the agro sector by altering the age-old subsistence nature of farming and accelerating the Growth trajectory in the state.

Lauding the initiative of preparing the much needed roadmap, Badal said, Indeed this is an important document as it chalks out a strategic path for increasing agro productivity and promoting enterprising activities through sustainable means. The State Government is committed to uplift the morale of farmers and keen to strengthen the Farming practices through suitable programs and schemes. We look forward to the key recommendations of the report and will try to incorporate them in our programmes, Badal further added.

This report emphatically notes that by solarising the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture process, the state government will be able to save around Rs 12,465 crores along with adding a solar capacity of 4250 MW. In the distressing times of Climate impacts, cleaner energy sources like renewables can bring several environmental co-benefits; similarly solarisation can be instrumental in avoiding CO2 emissions of more than 36.4 million tonnes in next 15 years. Furthermore, solarisation of 234000 grid connected pumps and installation of 405447 standalone off-grid solar pumps can cater to the demand of around 700 MW. For augmenting the logistic Infrastructure in the rural regions, installation of 8343 micro cold storages can create a cumulative storage capacity of 3.64 lakh metric tonne during 2021-22 to 2037-38. The report also notes that development of 81000 warehouses facilities in villages can lead to a solar rooftop potential of 160 MWp in the state.

Jharkhand is all set to launch its very own industrial and investment promotion policy to revive business opportunities in the State and transform the image of Jharkhand from a State of mines and minerals to a State full of opportunities across multiple sectors. The Government-led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been working tirelessly to attract investment in Jharkhand and to create a vast range of business opportunities in the state. The CM envisions establishing the State as one of the first and foremost investment destinations in the country.

The CM will launch Jharkhand Industrial and Promotion Policy 2021 at the Investors meet to be organised on August 27 and 28 in New Delhi. The investors meet will also include business to Government meetings with interested investors. During B2G, the Chief Minister will hold one on one meetings with all such stakeholders/ representatives from different business houses from across the country, where he will listen to the proposals and requisitions of investors for required interventions.

With the launch of JIIPP 2021, the State Government is looking towards promoting business opportunities in the field of Textile and Apparels, Automobile, Auto-Components and Electric Vehicles, Food and Meat Processing, Pharma, Electronic System Design and Manufacturing, Tourism, Health, IT & ITeS, RENEWABLE ENERGY, Breweries and Distilleries, Startup and Incubation centres, Education and Technical Institutes and other MSMEs.

To establish the State as a hub of electronic manufacturing & system design, a dedicated Adityapur Electronic Manufacturing Cluster has been established near Jamshedpur under the aegis of Adityapur Electronic Manufacturing Cluster Limited, a special purpose company for the smooth functioning of EMC. Aditypur EMC is a greenfield project spread across 82 acres of land. The campus has 92 flatted factory units ready with plug & play facility. An area of 49 acres has been booked for open infra, which is ready to be allocated for 51 electronic manufacturing units.

The Government aims to attract an investment of up to Rs 1,00,000 crore through JIIPP 2021. To attract a large number of investors the Government has proposed many attractive incentive provisions. The proposed Jharkhand Industrial and Investment Promotion policy promises investors up to 100 per cent relief from SGST for up to 9 Years whereas 75 per cent for large scale industries which is again for up to 12 Years. The policy incentivises investors up to Rs 25 crore as a comprehensive investment project subsidy with an additional 5 per cent incentive provision for SC/ST/Women/Specially abled investors. Apart from these, the policy has provisions for Early Bird Subsidy, Anchor Subsidy, Interest Subsidy, Power Subsidy and many more.

Jharkhand is one of the largest producers of Tasar silk in India, 2nd Largest producer of Horticulture crops, ranked 5 th in Ease of Doing Business. 33 National Highways pass through Jharkhand, the state has excellent Rail, Road, Air and Port connectivity. Also, Indias 2nd multi-model water port has been made in the state of Jharkhand on the river Ganges, which opens up industries established in Jharkhand to the global market. It creates an excellent opportunity for the investors to connect to the markets of Indo-Nepal-Bangladesh and North-East through waterways.

The Government strives for industrial development in the State. To achieve desired results the Government is planning to attract new investments but also wants to revive ill/sick industrial units. The government has marked industrial units which can be revived and turned into production units, such industrial units will be restarted under the beneficial provisions of JIIPP 2021.

State signs MoU with AAI

The on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) withAirports Authority of India(AAI) for transferring 303.62 acres of land for expansion ofBirsa Munda International Airport.

The MoU was signed by deputy secretary of state civil aviation departmentAkhilesh Kumar SinhaandBirsa Munda Internationalairport directorK L Agarwal. As per MoU, the state will transfer 301.12 acres of land to the AAI in the fPhase I of the city airport expansion and around 2.5 acres in the second phase.

Deoghar airport is likely to be operational from September as the Union Civil Aviation Ministry is chalking out a plan for the formal inauguration of the airport on September 17 coinciding with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This airport is being jointly developed by the Authority of India (AAI), DEFENCE Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Jharkhand government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of this airport on May 25, 2018.

Spread over 653.75 acres of land the project cost of this airport is Rs 401.34 crore. Its terminal building is being built over an area of 4,000sqm whereas the runway is 2,500 metres long.
