RSB MD hails Industrial Policy of Jharkhand, focus on electronic vehicle parts

Over 35k schools in state to be painted in green & white

More than 35,000 government schools inJharkhandare set for a fresh coat of paint in green-and-white shades, colours associated with the rulingJMMs party flag.

While the ruling dispensation claimed the colours were selected based on experts recommendations as green is soothing for eyes and white symbolises cleanliness, the oppositionBJPcried foul alleging the shades were chosen to send out a political message.
At present, school buildings are painted pink and toilets blue.

As per an order issued by theJharkhand Education Project Councilto all district education officers, the walls of the school buildings will be painted in swan, angora or coconut white, while frosted green or mehndi green will be used for borders and projections of the walls. The doors and windows, and also the toilets will be painted in deep green.

Ranchi has emerged as the best performing district in terms of health and nutrition reforms and bagged the third position in overall performance under the Aspirational District Programme (ADS) of Niti Aayog, which aims at improving the ease of living in 112 underdeveloped districts across India.

Another Jharkhand district, Simdega bagged the fourth position in overall performance and eight in Health and Nutrition under the ADS programme, the annual stated in its annual 2020-21 report released recently. Simdega also bagged the fourth position in Financial Inclusion & Skill development.

After several rounds of consultations with various stakeholders, 49 key performance indicators have been chosen to measure progress of the districts.

At least 19 of 24 districts in Jharkhand are among the 112 districts selected for the programme. As per a report submitted by the Niti Aayog to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), most of the 112 districts selected for the ADP were underdeveloped and some affected by LWE.

The Niti Aayog, as per its annual report, sanctioned comprehensive projects to reduce anaemia and Malnutrition in five Jharkhand districts and equip schools with smart classrooms in 19 districts of the tribal state.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), if the prevalence of anaemia in a Population is 40 per cent or higher it is categorized as a severe public health problem. National Family Health Survey (NFHS-4) highlights that around 70 per cent of children in the age bracket of 6-59 months, 62.6 per cent of pregnant Women and 65.2 per cent of women in the reproductive age are anaemic in Jharkhand.

Launched in January 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ADP has been lauded by several foreign organisations, including the UNDP, which recently stated that the ADP should serve as best practice for other countries where regional disparities in development status persist for many reasons.

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) has come to a great help to provide employment opportunities to the rural population of Jharkhand at a time when the economy of the country has been badly affected by Covid-19.

The ground assessment has confirmed that during the lockdown when Jharkhand witnessed a mass reverse Migration, the job loss on national level; MGNREGA proved crucial to financially sustain the poor rural Population.

So far in fiscal year 2021-2022 corresponding with the second and lethal wave of Covid 19, the Jharkhand government has provided job cards to 33,000 families that will benefit 51,000 people. So far 228 lakh man-days have been created with 13.80 lakh people getting EMPLOYMENT out of different MGNREGA schemes. To locally generate employment opportunities for job seekers under MGNREGA scheme District Administration and rural development department have been asked to start at least five to six construction works at each village.

The has further directed that rural works can be selected under different schemes like Nilambar-Pitambar Jal Samridhi Yojana, Birsa Harti Gram Yojana, Veer Poto Ho Khel Yojana, Didi Badi Yojana and others. Schemes related to water conservation and forestations too have been added under MGNREGA.

So far, 47,242 schemes have been completed and the work is under progress in 9.42 lakh schemes.

Notably, 81 per cent of the total allotted budget has been spent on schemes related to natural resource conservation.

Currently, Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture related schemes constitute 94.33 per cent of the total schemes approved under MGNREGA.

In fact the Jharkhand Government realised that during tough times like this MGNREGA can be the life saver if schemes are properly managed. In the previous fiscal year over 14 lakh new job cards were issued when there was a nationwide lockdown. Similarly, 11 crore man-days were created under MGNREGA. The result remained satisfactory as almost all households got jobs for a minimum of 46 days whereas 3.56 per cent of the total households got full 100 days jobs.

The people of Jharkhand have started availing the facilities offered by Amrit Vahini website, App and the related chatboat. 31,059 people visited the website during the past four days with 8260 people visiting the app on Monday. Till Sunday evening, 356 persons booked hospital beds using it while 37,375 persons availed the services offered by the chatboat. Amrit Vahini app is becoming a helping tool for Covid patients as they are getting all information at a single platform.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the launch of the app and chatboat said that many effective arrangements have been made to curb Coronavirus infection in the State. In this sequence, one more step has been taken through Amrit Vahini.

Though Amrit Vahini App or website one can get all information about the availability of hospital beds and even book one for himself or anybody else online. The bed booked by the person will be kept reserved for him for the next two hours. If the person, who has made the booking, fails to turn up, it will be transferred to another person.

End recognition of Pvt schools depriving enrolment of BPL students

School Education and Literacy Department should end the recognition of all private schools which deprive enrollment of 2,588 Dalit tribal natives of BPL category and other economically weak Swarna Samaj children from the Right to Education Act, otherwise agitation will be held, said Central President of Jharkhandi Information Rights Forum, Central Vice President of Adivasi Moolvasi Jan Adhikar Manch, Bhai Vijay Shankar Nayak here on Tuesday.

Nayak also said that in the financial year 2022-2023, the enrollment of Dalit tribal natives of BPL category and children of economically weak Swarna Samaj was sure to be done on a total of 9,974 seats in recognized private schools of the state, but only 4,386 children were enrolled. In private schools2,588 children were not enrolled which is the subject of investigation under what circumstances children of these categories were denied enrollment.

Didi Badigiya scheme bringing smile on farmers faces

The launched Didi Bagiya Yojna in 2021 under MGNREGA intending to prepare farmers of the State as entrepreneurs due to this the Government demanded saplings under the MGNREGA scheme and the State was not able to get enough quality saplings for the plantation.

Under this scheme, the trained farmers of the State got an opportunity to grow saplings and the Government ensured the purchase of saplings through MGNREGA. Once the farmers received training provided by the State Government and were involved in seedling production. Soon after, their produce was immediately acquired by the Government. This instilled a sense of trust among farmers and they started producing Amrapali, Malda, Mallika Mango and other seedlings including Timber Plants like Shisam, Gamhar and Teak.

Michael Ekka along with other farmers of the State was trained in Horticulture and sapling preparation. He has grown more than 8000 saplings of Shisam, Gamhar, Teak and Mango in his nursery through Didi Bagiya Yojna in the year 2021-22. These plants were procured by the Government for the implementation of Birsa Harit Gram Yojna, a scheme run by the State Government. With this, Michael earned an income of Rs 25,000. This was an additional means of livelihood for Michael Ekka through the Didi Bgiya Yojna, which is helping him to meet the needs of his family.

To instill a culture of sports and identify talent in the State, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed officials of the Sports Department to work on a special sports scheme named the Sahay scheme for the youth residing in Naxal-affected areas. The CM has directed the officials to work extensively to especially connect youth below the age of 19 with the scheme.

Under this scheme, potential Sports talent will be identified from the Panchayat level and taken to the Block level and District level where they will be prepared for national and international sports events. The scheme will be implemented in coordination with the sports and Police departments. The objective of the scheme is to reduce the gap between the people and the police through sports and by giving identity to the budding talent.

Under the Sahay scheme, the government plans to organize multiple sports tournaments in collaboration with national and state-level sports federations. Indian Women‘s national football camp being organized in Jamshedpur from 16 August 2021 is part of the governments plan to promote the state as a soft sports destination. The camp will prepare women players for the Asian Football Cup which is to be held from 20 January 2022 to 6 February 2022. This will encourage women football players from Jharkhand to play with national-level players and get insight into their past experiences.

The draft for the new sports policy of the state is almost ready. The policy lays emphasis on developing sports culture across the state. As per the draft sports policy, the government plans to develop free day boarding centres in each block along with equipping every district with modern state of the art residential training centres.

Quality seed production is BAUs first priority: Dr ON Singh

In view of the requirement of certified seeds in the State and the demand for quality seeds by the farmers, scientists will have to pay prompt and special attention in the production of breeder seeds and. quality seed production program is the first priority of BIrsa Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture University (BAU), said BAU Vixce Chancellor (VC), Dr Onkar Nath Singh.

Addressing during 20th Seed Council Singh said keeping these things in mind, seed production programs will have to be implemented in the farms of all the centers under BAU at the right time in the upcoming Kharif season. ZRS and KVK should make good use of 100 percent land of the farm in mutual coordination, he added.

The Vice-Chancellor directed all the centers under BAU to cover the entire farm area by August 15. Also he stressed the need for MAU between BAU and NSC for seed production and supply. He said that BAU is a part of the ‘s Agriculture Department and there is a need to give first priority to the State’s only Agriculture University ‘BAU’ in seed supply and other programs by the Agriculture Department.
Former Principal Scientist, ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack and Expert Dr SR Dhua praised the development of new improved crop varieties and successful seed production program of new strains by BAU. He praised the positive initiative of Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Jharkhand in the direction of seed production and seed lifting.

Rs 461 cr allocated under Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme

Rs 461 crore has been allocated to all the districts under the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Scheme. The department is going to give its visiting card to the farmer so that he can be assured that the is with him.

Badal said to make the concept of Smart Village a reality, there is a need to make co-ordination with all the concerned departments. He asked the office bearers to cooperate with those farmers who are not able to reach the Pragya Kendra and are not getting the benefit of the scheme by taking cooperation from Kisan Mitra. Talking about linking the deprived farmers with the schemes, he said that a list of such farmers should be prepared so that the benefits of the schemes could reach them. In 3 years of Government, we are reaching 30 lakh farmer families of the State, this is a big achievement, but the target is to reach 5800000 farmers and ensure the contribution up to 20 per cent in the GDP of the State, he added .

The Minister said that more than five lakh new members have joined the cooperative, monitoring should also be done to see how active the new members are in the cooperative. While addressing 129 new officers, he said that the Government has high hopes from them and the senior officials should share their experience so that they can perform better in the field of Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture. He said that the commitment in the department should be visible from top to bottom, so that we can play our role honestly in fulfilling the dreams of Birsa farmers.
