Scepticism fromfarmersabout bio-decomposers notwithstanding, they remain at the forefront of government efforts to bring down farm fires that choke Delhi-NCR at the onset of winter.

The Pusa bio-decomposer, a microbial solution, will be sprayed on at least five lakh acres of land inHaryanathis year. So far, more than 1,000 farmers in the state have filled up forms to avail of the solution. Pusa spraying in the fields is free and will begin from the first week of October. The total area under paddy coverage in Haryana is 34.1 lakh acres.

Last year, the Pusa bio-decomposer was sprayed on three lakh acres in the state. Cases of stubble burning, however, sharply increased from 4,202 in 2020 to 7,197 in 2021. Farmers havent been keen on bio-decomposers because of the time it takes to break down the crop waste, arguing that burning it is the fastest way of preparing the fields for the next crop.

After the approval, DIPs will prepare the village water security plans and facilitate the implementation of Atal Jal at the gram panchayat level. They will also facilitate community engagement and social behavioural transition.

The Chief Minister was further apprised that Atal Bhujal Yojana is a Participatory Groundwater Management scheme supported by the Central Government and and implemented by the Haryana Government. The major objective of this scheme is to create the hydrogeological data Network of groundwater Resources and further building community institutions to manage the groundwater resources in Haryana.

As a part of the programme, community mobilisation and awareness activities, as well as capacity building of stakeholders, will take place. Initially, the water security plan of each village will be prepared and the same will be implemented over the next four years.

Underscoring the importance of safeguarding the interests of landowners, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that the has undertaken the task of laying power lines that traverse their farmlands and fields.

The Chief Minister directed the officers to formulate policies that prioritize the welfare of farmers, ensuring their benefits. He emphasized the importance of effective coordination among the Power Corporation officials to address the concerns of farmers promptly.

Notably, the farmers from Tigaon and Dayalpur villages have requested an increase in the compensation amount. The foundation work for approximately 124 towers has been completed, covering more than a dozen villages in Prithla and Tigaon along this 29.5-kilometer-long power line.

TheHaryanagovernment approved theState ElectricVehicle (EV) Policy 2022 and launched a data centre policy to make the state a global data centre hub.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the statecabinetwhich met here under the chairmanship of chief ministerManohar Lal Khattar.

The EV policy aims to protect the Environment, reduce carbon footprint, make Haryana an EV manufacturing hub, ensure Skill development in EV field, encourage uptake of EV vehicles, provide EV charging and encourage R&D in EV technology.

The policy encourages new manufacturing in EV technology and also encourages existing automobile manufacturers to diversify in the EV manufacturing domain. The policy offers various financial incentives to EV manufacturers by giving incentives on fixed capital Investment (Fci), net SGST, stamp duty and EMPLOYMENT generation. There is100% reimbursement of stamp duty along with exemption in Electricity Duty for 20 years.

The cabinet also amended Haryana Wood Based Industries (Establishment and Regulation) Rules, 2022, to ensure continuity of licence or registration to existing wood-based industries located within 3km range and to afford more opportunities for Growth of wood-based industries, the establishment of wood-based industries at a distance closer than 3km does not pose threat to the protection of forests, Haryana has amended the Rule-6 (2) of Haryana Wood Based Industries (Establishment and Regulation) Rules, 2022 by substituting the word three-kilometre with 500 meter in original proposal.

As many as 5,754 industrial units are generating over 2 lakh metric tonne (MT) hazardous waste per annum in the state. Emphasising on the scientific disposal of hazardous waste, P Raghvendra Rao, HSPCB Chairman, said it was harmful as it contained lead and other chemical waste.

He was addressing industrialists during a programme organised by the Haryana Environment Management Society and HSPCB regarding the implementation of the Hazardous and Other Waste Management Rules-2016.

Of the total generated waste, only 20.9 MT (10 per cent) is landfillable, 25.8 MT (12 per cent) is incinerable while 1.22 lakh MT (62 per cent) is recyclable.

The HSPCB has identified 443 textile units for generating 7,684.71 MT hazardous waste per annum, of which 3,012 MT is landfillable, 183.43 MT incinerable and 4,489 MT recyclable.

After Karnal and Panipat,oxygenplant atAmbalacivil hospital is set to become operational.Haryanahealth ministerAnil Vijon Wednesday afternoon inspected installation of the plant and asked it to be made operational by the night.

The central government has approved 60 more Oxygen Plants for Haryana, which would be installed at 30-, 50-, 100- and 200-bedded government hospitals in the state. For the same, the responsibility of completing the civil work within seven days has been given to NHAI. DRDO has been given the task of oxygen plant installation.

All the concerned agencies have been instructed to start the work without any delay. Every government hospital in Haryana would be made atamnirbhar with regards to oxygen.

With the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in rural areas ofHaryana, the Khattar government has invoked the provisions of British Raj-era law, The Punjab Small Town Patrol Act, 1918 that empowers people in villages to guard themselves through Thikri Pehra (closevigil). The villagers have been told to control the gathering of people and to enforce compliance of Covid-19 protocol in their villages.

As per the orders passed under Section-3 of thePunjab Villagesand Small Town Patrol Act, 1918 by DCs of various districts, all the village panchayats in the state have been directed to perform patrol duty throughout the day and night and to ensure there is no gathering of people.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said that the State Governments target is to cover maximum beneficiaries under various schemes by March 31, 2022.

While releasing the premium amount of Rs 5.33 crore to 3,14,446 beneficiaries of Mukhya Mantri Parivar Samridhi Yojna (MMPSY) during a state-level function held through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that since 2014, ensuring the reach of the benefits of various government schemes and programmes to those in the last of the pyramid while following the path of Antyodaya as shown by Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya has remained the utmost priority of the .

During the programme, out of the total 3,14,446 beneficiaries under MMPSY, as many as 29 beneficiaries enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and all the three Maandhan schemes including Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PMKMY), Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PMSYMY), and Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari Mandhan Pension Yojana (PMLVMY) received the scheme acknowledgement letter from the Chief Minister, while rest of the beneficiaries received the same from the Deputy Commissioners at the programme held at district level.

Under MMPSY, beneficiaries are eligible to get a benefit of Rs 6000 per year and this amount will be used to pay the beneficiary’s share of centrally sponsored schemes for pension and Insurance, informed the Chief Minister.
