Haryanas GST collection up by 22%: Finance ministry

Haryana continues to improve in the goods and Services tax (GST) collection, as the data released by the ministry of finance, government of India, suggest, with chief ministerManohar Lal Khattarsaying that the state has made “remarkable progress”.
The finance portfolio is held by the CM.
There has been an increase of 22 per cent in theGST collectionas compared to last year.
The state’s GST collection was 8,197 in 2022 which has increased to 10,035 (in 2023).

Compared toHaryanas GST collectionwith the neighbouring states, Punjab has an increase of 16 per cent, it’s 17 per cent in Himachal, eight per cent in Delhi and five per cent in Rajasthan.

The State Government is giving all required facilities to big industries as well as micro, small and medium industries.
The state government has also improved power availability and connectivity to promote industries.
A “strong Network” of roads and railways is spread across the state, said Khattar.

Hry Govt notifies merger of departments

To improve the administrative efficiency, Haryana Government on Monday notified the merger and reorganization of some departments.

Sharing details, an official spokesperson said that with the merging of the Department of New and with the Department of Power, the new department has been named as Energy Department. The Forest and Wildlife Department and Environment and Climate-change”>Climate Change Department have been merged and changed to Environment, Forests and Wildlife Department.

The Department of Archeology and Museums has been merged with the Department of Tourism and the name of the department has been changed to Heritage and Tourism Department. The Departments of Higher Education, Technical Education and the Department of Science and Technology have been merged and the new department has been named Higher Education Department.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Saturday launched the fogging machine distribution programme campaign at Panipat to eliminate the outbreak of mosquitoes in the rural and urban areas, saying the way there has been an exponential increase in the outbreak of dengue and other diseases, fogging machine will help to curb the situation.

Panipat has become the first district in this fight from where this programme is being started. As many as 23 machines have been distributed in Panipat in the first phase and about 95 machines are being given in the villages in the next few days. He said that through collective efforts all villages will be covered in the next four to five days.

Chautala said that even in urban areas, whether it is a colony or a sector, fogging machines will be ensured everywhere. He said that after preparing a complete plan for this, they should also appoint an administrative officer to regularly monitor it so that a huge campaign against dengue and malaria could be carried out within the district. He stressed that such machines are fully automatic and should be put to immediate use.

Haryana tops big states in Public Affairs Index 2022

Haryana has bagged the top position in the category of big states in the Public Affairs Index, 2022. In this report, Haryana has been at the forefront in social , economic justice and political justice themes. The state has topped among the major states with a score of 0.6948, followed by Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Karnataka among many other states.

In PAI-2022, Sikkim has retained its position as the best-governed small state in India. The 7th edition of Public Affairs Index, 2022, prepared by Bengaluru-based not-for-profit think tank Public Affairs Center (PAC), was released on Friday. In this report, Economic justice was measured on indicators such as Labour Productivity Assurance of standard of living to wage workers, Public expenditure on development, Coverage of social safety Net, and EMPLOYMENT Opportunities.

Political Justice was measured on indicators such as Functional devolution to rural and Urban Local Bodies, Commitment to independent financial devolution to local bodies, Incidence of crime Efficiency of Police in mobilising case related evidence, Redress for undertrial Population.

Similarly, Social Justice was measured on indicators such as Learning outcomes for school-goers, Safe drinking water and sanitation coverage, Early Childhood Development outcomes, Ease of Logistics and trade, Regularity and reliability of power supply.

Director, Public Affairs Center (PAC), G. Gurucharan said the report has been prepared transparently and fairly. He said that in the report, the states have been divided into two categories – large and small, and the assessment was done based on central government data. Union Territories are not part of the report.

Haryana has emerged as the best-governed state among the 18 big states, while Sikkim has topped in the category of the 10 smaller states.

Haryana Government has prepared a special scheme for those farmers who use micro-irrigation. With the formulation of this scheme, where on one hand the farmers can ensure more production of crops consuming less water with a micro-irrigation system hence saving water on the other hand expenditure on irrigation of crops would also be reduced.

For all such farmers who wish to take advantage of the scheme, a portal has been developed by the , on which the farmers can register and apply for the installation of a micro-Irrigation system.

Individual farmers will be given a 70 per cent subsidy on the construction of the water tank, 75 per cent on the solar pump and 85 per cent on mini sprinkler/drill. Similarly, 85 per cent subsidy will be given to a group of farmers for the construction of a water tank, 75 per cent on the solar pump and 85 per cent on mini sprinkler/drill.

Haryana’s Saraswati heritage board to develop 5 riverfronts

The Haryana Saraswati Heritage Development Board has come out with a plan to develop five riverfronts on the Saraswati river.

The proposed riverfronts will be at Pipli and Pehowa in Kurukshetra district, Bilaspur in Yamunanagar district, and on the Panchkula-Yamunanagar highway near Dosarka village, and the Kaithal-Guhla road.

As for the riverfronts at the other four locations, the board has written to Deputy Commissioners of the districts concerned for demarcating the river area.

Padma awardees from Haryana to get a monthly pension of Rs 10,000: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 for the Padma awardees from the state.

Besides the monthly pension, the chief minister has also announced a free travel facility in the ‘Volvo bus’ service of the for Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awardees from Haryana.

Khattar made this announcement during his visit to Karnal. He said the government has formulated various welfare policies to make life easier for the people of the state. ”People are getting direct benefits from the schemes in our government. Now the assistance amount (under various schemes) goes directly to the beneficiary’s account,” he said.

He said that the state government is giving the benefit of Health Insurance up to Rs 5 lakh to families with an annual income of up to Rs 1.80 lakh. The government is also considering including the families in this scheme whose annual income is also between Rs 1.80 lakh and Rs 3 lakh by taking some premium amount to give them a benefit of up to Rs 5 lakh, he added.

Khattar said after the implementation of the family ID card scheme — Parivar Pehchan Patra — 12.5 lakh new Below POVERTY-line”>Poverty Line (BPL) ration cards have been made in the state.

Haryana to open drug de-addiction centres across state: CM Khattar

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the Haryana government has decided to open drug de-addiction centres across the state.

The government is constantly working to root out the drug menace from the state, Khattar said.

The chief minister was interacting with the people during a Jan Samvad programme in Chormar Khera village in Sirsa, according to an official statement issued here.

Later, during a Jan Samvad programme in Dabwali village, he announced that Sirsas Dabwali sub-division will now be a new Police district, a step which will help combat drug smuggling.

In Haryana, 28% Covid victims had no serious health issues, shows data

The Percentage of Covid patients having no comorbidities, who died in Haryana since April 1, rose from 11.9 to 27.7. In some districts like Bhiwani, Jhajjar and Sirsa, the percentage was more than 50.

As per the official data, since the outbreak of the pandemic till March 31 this year, 375 people died in the state who didnt have any comorbidities, while there were 2,780 victims who had comorbidities. The share of victims with no serious Health issues was 11.9 per cent.
