Discoms in the state DakshinHaryanaBidyut Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and Uttar Haryana Bidyut Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) together have to recover around Rs 7,000 crore from defaulters in the state.
Of the combined 20 lakh defaulters, nearly 14 lakh are existing consumers of discoms while the connections of 6 lakh consumers have been snapped due to failure to pay dues.

The DHBVN, which covers south Haryana, including Gurgaon and Faridabad, has a total of 12.9 lakh defaulters with a defaulting amount of Rs 4,866 crore spread

across different consumer categories. Similarly, the UHBVN has 7.5 lakh defaulters amassing a defaulting amount of Rs 2,263 crore across different consumer categories.

The Chief Minister Manohar Lal gave directions in this regard. He was presiding over a meeting of officers of various departments at his office here.

During the meeting, he directed to implement the online transfer policy in all departments.

The Chief Minister directed to make all necessary arrangements

for implementing online transfer policy in all departments by April 30.

He said that if an employee is in the district cadre and wants to go to another district, then he should be given the option to do so.

Calling upon the party workers to work unitedly to take the schemes and achievements of the Government to the masses, Khattar said: The State Government has launched important schemes to strengthen the economic condition of the needy, farmers and backward classes; so that their standard of living could be improved. Following the mool mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas aur Sabka Vishwas, we had given the slogan of Haryana Ek- Haryanvi Ek in the year 2014 to ensure uniform development of the state, said Khattar.

He said that in the last eight years, the State Government, by rising above the politics of Regionalism and Nepotism, has got development works done in all the 90 assembly constituencies. Today, Haryana is ahead of many states in the country on the path of development, he asserted.

The Chief Minister said that the present State Government works on one principle. The Government has made a scathing attack on 3 Cs Corruption, crime and caste-based politics. We have adopted a zero Tolerance policy to curb corruption. Corruption in the society will not be tolerated at all, he said, adding that the State Government has also laid emphasis on Education, Health, self-respect, security and self-reliance.

Five mega projects have been proposed under the Haryana Enterprise and EMPLOYMENT Policy 2020 and are expected to generate over 31,000 jobs.

This was stated by Industries Minister Dushyant Chautala in response to a question by Congress MLA Varun Chaudhry, who sought to know the outcome of the policy since its inception.

The reply was tabled during the ongoing Budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today. Chautala, in his reply,

said while Maruti Suzuki India Limited had proposed an of Rs 18,000 crores in Sonepat, which was expected to generate 10,000 jobs. This is also the biggest project that has come in, he added.

While a proposed investment of Rs 1,389 crores is expected to come to Gurugram, expecting to generate 13,286 jobs, another project worth Rs 1,140 crores will come up in Panipat. Two projects worth nearly Rs 650 crore each are proposed to come in Palwal and Rewari and provide 7,000 and 600 jobs, respectively.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Saturday said that water conservation is the need of the hour and the government has fixed a budget of Rs. 1,100 crores for it this year.

He said that a significant number

of borewells in the city of Faridabad had stopped functioning as a result of the decline in groundwater levels. Due to this, a large number of people are not getting portable drinking water. He said that when this matter came to notice, it was asked to find an expert agency for recommendations.

After extensive research, it came to Light that some people in Maharashtra are working on reviving the stalled borewells. Thereafter, these people were contacted and the entire work was taken up by Awaaz Foundation and Rotary Club. Now, this project is being started in Faridabad city and initially, 100 borewells will be revived under it. He said that in this project, a borewell will cost Rs. 50,000. Rotary Club and Awaaz Foundation will jointly contribute to it.

An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the department of physical Education of Kurukshetra University and the department of physical education of Aligarh Muslim University was signed on Friday. Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Professor Som Nath Sachdeva said this MoU would prove to be a milestone in the field of education and Sports for both universities.

He further said the MoUs with educational institutions in the fields of education, sports and science was the need of the hour. Through this MoU, exchange of faculty, guest lecture programme, presentation and execution of collaborative research and research projects, intellectual ideas, and technical

assistance in various areas of development of physical education and sports science, high-performance training will be shared.

Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij today said an amount of Rs 40 crore had been approved by the Ministry of Civil Aviation for the construction of domestic airport in Ambala Cantonment.

The minister said a new terminal would be built right next to the Ambala Air Force Station, and the runway of air force station was to be used for the airport. It will have flights for Srinagar and Lucknow. The construction of domestic airport terminal will start soon.

In December 2018, the Civil Airport Project

was approved, under the Udan 3.0 scheme, but the project remained on papers only as the land for the project was not finalised.

Earlier this year, the District Administration and the air force authorities agreed to construct the airport on the DEFENCE land in Ambala Cantonment.

Khattar said that Haryana was geared up for IGM-2022, the President will formally inaugurate the main programmes with Gita Yagya at Brahma Sarovar on November 29 while the Mahotsav celebrations will start from November 19.
He said that on November 29, 2022, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu will formally inaugurate the main programmes to be held during the IGM-2022 with Gita Yagya at Brahma Sarovar.
