As many as 559 missing children, including 487 girls, have been rescued under the Chhattisgarh Polices Operation Muskan drive, it was announced.

Of the total, 76 were missing from Janjgir-Champa, 56 from Raipur and 52 each from Bilaspur and Sakti districts, an official statement said.

The rescue operation was organized between June 1 and 30 within Chhattisgarh and in other states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, , Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Karnataka, the statement said. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had ordered the Home Department to rescue the missing children.

Chhattisgarh has a large area where minor and are grown. The procurement, processing and value addition can ensure better returns to farmers and EMPLOYMENT to Women self-help groups and youths, he said. Higher production will also push up consumption within the state, he said.

Baghel was holding a review meeting of the Forest Department here, an official statement said.

He said the states minor millet production is concentrated in the tribal areas of Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Jagdalpur, Dantewada and Sukma besides Rajnandgaon, Surguja, Kawardha and Bemetara.

Baghel said the Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay scheme has been extended to the minor millets (kodo, kutki) and they will be procured on minimum support price.

He said farmers clusters can be formed in select development blocks for production. Small processing units can be installed.

For increasing local consumption, minor millet cuisines can be included in Gadhkalewa (state’s traditional cuisine centre). Additionally, it can be included in midday meals in schools.

The Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Federation will seek cooperation from the Indian Institute of Millet Research, Hyderabad, to promote millets.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday claimed that the was making every possible effort for environmental conservation. One of the core objectives of the state government’s flagship Godhan NYAY Yojana is environmental protection and conservation, he said.

The Chief Minister, at a programme held at his official residence on World Environment Day, said that the state government was actively working towards improving the environment through various schemes, including Suraji Gaon Yojana, Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Protsahan Yojana, Vriksh Sampada Yojana, and Krishna Kunj Yojana.

Earlier the Chief Minister planted a sapling of an Amla tree in his official residence to mark the occasion.

He urged the residents of the state to take responsibility for planting and maintaining Plants in their homes and surroundings.

Baghel also emphasized on the importance of extensive tree plantation during the upcoming monsoon season and encouraged efforts to transform villages, pasturelands, fields, and forests into lush green landscapes.

The has declared over 9400 Covid-free after no case was reported there for five days in a row. “Out of 20,092 villages, 9,462 have becomeCovidfree. Campaign for containment for Covid infection in rural areas is yielding positive results,” said government officials.

Health Infrastructure from district hospitals to primary health centers has been ramped up. Hospital beds were increased in the hospitals, treatment facilities were expanded to villages through new COVID care centers.

Baghel has stated in the letter that as April is the first month of the financial year 2021-22, the due date for obligations underTDSand TDS Act is scheduled for this month. However, the economic activities in the state have been suspended for Covid-19 containment, because of which the businessmen are finding it difficult to tally their accounts and file returns in the given time period before the due date.

On an Average, 1,409 samples per 10 lakh Population are being examined every day in Chhattisgarh. A total of 58,32,740 samples have been tested for Covid so far.

Since the onset of Covid in the state, Chhattisgarh has been among the leading states testing maximum number of samples for Covid-19 per 10 lakh population.

In this case, Chhattisgarh is ahead of many major states including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.

With a favourable Climate and condition, Chhattisgarh is now self-dependent in spices.

The production of spices totalled more than four lakh tonnes.

Also, now coriander seeds were being supplied from Chhattisgarh to other states.

The Climate of Chhattisgarh favours the production of spices. This is why its cultivation is continuously increasing in the state.

Turmeric, ginger, red chili, carom seeds, tamarind and garlic are cultivated. Turmeric, coriander, fenugreek, garlic, chili and ginger are cultivated in almost all areas of Chhattisgarh.

The Communication said spices were currently cultivated in Chhattisgarh on 66,081 hectares and about 4.50 lakh tonnes of spices have been produced.

The area under cultivation and production of turmeric is highest in Chhattisgarh among other spices. It is followed by ginger, coriander, garlic, chili and tamarind.

For the cultivation of spices, farmers are provided assistance under the National Horticulture Mission, National Agricultural Scheme and other schemes.

Under the National Horticulture Mission, spices have been cultivated on 13,302 hectares of land in 24 districts and 93,114 tonnes have been produced.

In the last four years, spices were cultivated in 1,837.29 hectares under the National Agricultural Development Scheme. About 3,500 farmers have benefitted from the schemes.

After one month of farmers protest in NavaRaipur, where farmers lands were acquired to build new capital, the has agreed on six-point demands of the affected farmers.

The state government is ready to resolve the objections and Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority (NRAND) will start the process of distribution of 1200 to 2500 square feet residential land lease to the project affected-farmers as per their eligibility from March 7.

As per officials of NRAND, the Board of Directors of the Authority has accepted six major recommendations made by the Cabinet Committee constituted by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, in the meeting held on February 25. These recommendations have been made in the view of demands made by the New Capital Project-Affected Farmers Welfare Committee. This include distribution of land lease, allotment of 1200 to 2500 square feet of residential land as per eligibility, and relaxation in the conditions of implementation of Village Development Plan for allocating government land wherever it is encroached.

The Covid-19 vaccination drive is being conducted in full swing in Chhattisgarh. with 3,49,62,805 jabs administered across the state till January 30 in all age groups.

This includes the first, second and the precautionary doses, an official statement said on Monday.

The statement said a total of 1,42,29,367 adult citizens have been vaccinated with both the doses in the state.

In Chhattisgarh, 72 percent of the Population aged above 18 years have been vaccinated with both the doses whereas 2,35,308 Health workers, frontline workers and people above 60 years of age in the state have got the booster dose, it said.

Around 99 percent of the population aged above 18 years and 60 percent in the age group 15-18 years have been vaccinated with the first dose.
