PM Modi praises Bemetara SHG during 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the work of the Women of the Jai Gondwana self-help group of Deori village of Bemetara district, around 70-k from the state capital, during his 100th episode ofMann Ki Baat. These women were invited to the Raj Bhawan in Raipur where they listened to the Prime Minister.

Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan described the 100th episode as a momentous occasion, as it undergoes the programmes enduring popularity since its launch on October 3, 2014.

To solve the problems related to film production in Chhattisgarh and to promote its film industry, the government has taken authorized all District Collectors to issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) related to movie production.

In addition, the time-bound issuance of NOC has been included under the Guarantee Act and a time-limit of 30 days has been set for the same, an official Communication said on Wednesday.

In the same sequence, the Culture Department has started the facility of Single Dashboard for registration and renewal of NOC for movies shooting in the state.

As per an order, the District Collectors must NOCs for film shooting free of cost.

A film cell has been constituted under the Culture Department to provide necessary information, advice and guidance about NOC application and process of film production.

Chhattisgarh Hockey will host the first Hockey India West Zone Junior Boys/Girls National Hockey Championship in Rajnandgaon from March 19 to 26, Chhattisgarh Hockey President Firoz Ansari said on Sunday.

Teams from seven states — Rajasthan, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Daman and Diu (Nagar Haveli) — will participate, he said.

More than 300 male and female players, referees, coaches and managers as well as selectors will take part.

Chhattisgarh budget: Old Pension Scheme makes comeback, farm labourers to get increased support

Chhattisgarhwill restore the old pension scheme for the employees, waive examination fee for competitive exams organised by the state and increase payouts under the Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana to Rs 7,000, chief minister BhupeshBaghelsaid while presenting the state budget for 2022-23 in Raipur.

Baghel also promised free electricity to farmers in a budget that breached an allocation of Rs 1 lakh crore for the next fiscal.

The Old Pension Scheme, the implementation of which Baghel had agreed to consider following an internal party huddle with leadersRahul GandhiandPriyanka Gandhi Vadralast month, is a crucial announcement that provides social and economic security to the employees of the state. The old scheme will replace the New Pension Scheme (NPS) for employees appointed on and after January 1, 2004, and will benefit about three lakh employees of the state.

Following through on his promise to implement the ‘Chhattisgarh model’ of development that puts the rural economy at the heart of all development initiatives, Baghels budget also raised payouts under the Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 per month.

Baghel, who made a statement by carrying the state budget in a briefcase fashioned out of by-products of cow dung also announced on Tuesday that Gothans, cow sheds and agri-processing hubs, will be developed asMahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park. He said processing units will be set up for value addition of local food products and minor forest produce.

As a part of this initiative, assistance will be also given to local youth for setting up small and Cottage industries related to bamboo and wooden crafts, Metal-crafts”>Metal Crafts and other handicrafts.

Cop encounters toll 655 in 5 years; Chhattisgarh tops list

As many as 655 cases relating to deaths in Police encounter were registered across the country between January 1, 2017 and January 31, 2022, of whichChhattisgarhaccounted for the highest 191 cases followed by UP with 117 cases.

No shortage of O2 in Chhattisgarh: Govt

TheChhattisgarhgovernment said that there is no dearth ofoxygenforpatientsof Covid-19 and other serious diseases.

Around 386.9 metric tons of Oxygen is being produced in the state every day, whereas the need for 5,898 patients with oxygen support is only 110.3 MT.

In Chhattisgarh, 27 pressure swing absorption (PSA) oxygen Generator Plants are generating nearly 177 MT oxygen on a daily basis. Apart from this, 210 MT is produced daily by two manufacturers. Madhya Pradesh has also approached for oxygen from theBhilaiplant.

Solar power illuminating villages in far flung Cgarh

Chhattisgarh is a leader in the country in using to illuminate villages, provide drinking water and supplyingelectricity in far-flung areas of the state.

An official Communication said rapid work has been done in solar energy. The Chhattisgarh State RENEWABLE ENERGY Development Agency has won the National Award for installing most solar pumps in the country and for energy conservation.

A total of 71,753 solar Irrigation pumps were set up in the state by CREDA in the last four years. A total of 86,104 hectares have been irrigated through these pumps.

More than 1.17 lakh solar irrigation pumps of 3 and 5 hp have been installed in the state to irrigate 1.17 lakh hectares of land. Over 1.26 lakh farmers benefit from the scheme.

Under the Saur Sujala Yojana, farmers are given a maximum grant of up to Rs 2 lakh by the government to set up solar irrigation pumps of 3 and 5 horse power capacity. Arrangements have been made to supplydrinking water for animals and irrigation facilities in 4,970 Gauthans.

The Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday approved up to Rs 3 crores subsidy for expansion of private industrial parks in the state.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Briefing newspersons, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar said the cabinet also approved a list of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSME) service category.

Solar power-based ancillary Plants and wooden-based industries were included in the Industrial Policy as prioritized industries, the Minister said.

The cabinet also relaxed the condition of being a bonafide citizen of Bastar, Surguja divisions and Korba districts for appointments as Assistant Teacher in Swami Aatmanand English Medium Schools.

The cabinet exempted the quarterly tax for buses operated by educational institutions. The exemption includes the quarters between July, 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021.

The cabinet decided to distribute additional free food-grains under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana.

The distribution is to be done under the Chhattisgarh Food and Nutrition Security Act and an additional burden of Rs 223.58 crores to the exchequer will be borne by the , the Minister added.

Ahead of theRabiseason, theChhattisgarhgovernment has given instructions to officials to keep a strict vigil on the distribution system of fertilizers and seeds and to ensure storage of seeds and fertilizers for rabi crops as per the demand in respective districts of the state.

During the meeting, it was informed that a target of sowing various crops in a 19.25 lakh hectare area has been kept for the current rabi season. Out of which 3.48 lakh hectare (18 per cent of the target) area has already been used for sowing various crops. Similarly, in Rabi year 2022-23, a target has been set to distribute 3,18,000 quintals of certified seeds, which contains 1,25,000 quintals of wheat, 96,900 quintals of a gram, 15,000 quintals of peas, 4450 quintals of mustard and 77,50 others seeds of crops.

Chhattisgarhs Sufi singer and music composer Madan Singh Chouhan on Monday received Padma Shri from President Ram Nath Kovind at a function in New Delhi.

Chouhan was selected for the award for 2020 for his contribution in the field of art.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel congratulated Chouhan for getting the award and for bringing laurels to Chhattisgarh.

Chouhan has devoted his entire life in the field of music and his achievement has brought glory to the state, Baghel said.
