Chhattisgarh performs better in Eklavya National Sports meet

The players from Chhattisgarh were ranked fifth in the 3rd Eklavya National Sports Festival held at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. on Friday.

The state bagged 58 medals that include 26 gold, 12 silver and 20 bronze medals.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Scheduled Castes and Tribes Development Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam hailed outstanding performance of the players.

The national event was participated by students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools from 22 states. Chhattisgarh had sent acontingent of 288 players.

The state playersperformed exceedingly well in athletics with 20 medals including 13 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze. In swimming, a total of 16 medals includes 8 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze and 10 medals in wrestling which includes 3 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze.

Cgarh to buy school uniforms from Handloom Federation

The Chhattisgarh government has decided to purchase uniforms for school students from the Chhattisgarh State Handloom Development and Marketing Federation Ltd (CSHDMFL).

The School Education Department issued an order in this regard on Wednesday.

The uniforms will be distributed to students of government schools free of cost during the academic session 2022-23.

The decision will benefit the weavers associated with the Handloom Federation, a communiqu from the stated.

Cgarh takes steps to promote herbal farming

The Chhattisgarh government has undertaken concrete measures to promote herbal cultivation. Several schemes are being run by Chhattisgarh Tribal, Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plant Board.

Currently, the cultivation of medicinal Plants is done on more than 1,000 acres by selecting Climate-friendly species in different areas of the state.

As a pilot project, Ambikapur, Mainpat and Jashpur have been selected for lavender cultivation and the central region of Bastar for rosemary cultivation.

The initiative aims to double the profit earned by farmers compared to that earned through traditional farming.

The Chhattisgarh Tribal, Local Health Traditions and Medicinal Plants Board has entered into an agreement with various institutions to sell the products.

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel emphasises need to promote organic manure to battle fertiliser shortage

Chief ministerBhupesh Baghelhas stressed on the need to promote the production of organic manure and vermicomposting at national level to encourage which can help in overcoming chemical fertilizer shortage.

Baghel said thatChhattisgarhis the only state in the country to have declared support price to produce Kodo, Kutki and Ragi. The millet production is being promoted in the state under the Millet Mission. Seven districts of Bastar division, five of Surguja along with Kawardha andRajnandgaonhave been included under the mission. Forest region have low Irrigation capacity and Millets take lesser time to produce. Hence, the production of millet in such areas can provide a good Source Of Income to the dwellers. Arrangements are also being made to procure and market the millets, he said.

MNREGA,Pradhan Mantri GramSadak Yojana (PMGSY),Pradhan MantriAwas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan MantriKaushal Vikas Yojana, Digital India, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, National Health Mission, National Rural Drinking Water Program were also reviewed during the meeting.

MNREGA should be linked with agricultural works. This will greatly benefit the farmers and significantly reduce the production cost.

Victory Flame to reach Cgarh

Chhattisgarh government to launch twinning of government-private schools

Chhattisgarhgovernment will introduce the concept of twinning of government and private schools, under which nearby two schools of each sector will be combined to mobilize each others Resources for TEACHING and organising Learning activities, soon. The concept will be initiated for classes 1 to VIII once schools reopens in Chhattisgarh.

Under this, both the schools should identify the resources, which can be used by both the schools. For example, laboratory, library, Sports field, subject-specialist teacher, sports teacher etc.

TheDistrict Mission Coordinatorsof the program have been directed to approach all the government and private schools for this. Chhattisgarh consists of around 6,000 private schools and 45000 government schools.

The concept of twinning of schools is launched under government of India’s new Education policy. Under which collaboration may also be done between government to government schools.

The Department of Forest and Climate Change on Wednesday ordered the distribution of incentive wages amounting to Rs 424.11 crores to tendu leave pluckers in Chhattisgarh.

As a part of this, incentive wages amounting to Rs 163.62 crore will be distributed to 9,49,944 pluckers from 733 societies which were profitable in 2021.

The Chhattisgarh government distributes the profit earned from the trade of tendu leaves as incentive wages to tendu leaves pluckers.

Amity University Chhattisgarh signs MoU with UNICEF for women, children and tribal development

An MoU was signed between UNICEF and Amity University Chhattisgarh for establishing a Centre of Knowledge on Children, Women and Tribal Development on Tuesday in a ceremony hosted at Amity University Chhattisgarh (AUC) campus here.

The NSS (National Service Scheme) Unit of AUC will also get a broad region to provide service to the tribal community. Activities by UNICEF and AUC under the MoU would include strengthening knowledge management, building capacities of people and institutions, academic support as Centre of Excellence, technical support in planning and monitoring, youth Empowerment, innovations, and incubation centers and many more.
