Worlds most criminal countries ranking: India behind US, UK at 77 spot

World of Statistics has shared the ranking of the worlds most criminal countries. On the list, Venezuela has been ranked top, followed by Papua New Guinea (2), Afghanistan (3), South Africa (4), Honduras (5), Trinidad (6), Guyana (7), Syria (8), Somalia (9) and Jamaica (10), respectively. India stood at 77 spots while the US and UK were ahead of India in the criminal ranking country. The USA was at 55th number and the UK at 65th rank, according to the World of Statistics. Turkey, Germany, and Japan were among the least criminal countries, ranking at 92nd, 100th, and 135th ranks

Cabinet nod to reimplement law on fighting NCRs bad air

The re-promulgated legislation has been tweaked to take care of the concerns of farmers who had objected to its substantially high penalty provision for stubble burning in neighbouring states. The multi-member statutory commission will now also have representation from farmers, and construction sectors. Penalty provisions for erring industry or other sectors remain intact with jail term up to five years or with fine up to Rs 1 crore or with both for any non-compliance or contravention of any provision or rules and order or direction of the panel.

The commission had replaced The Supreme Court-backed Environment-pollution”>ENVIRONMENT POLLUTION (Prevention and Control) Authority EPCA which had been taking care of the issues of Air Pollution in the NCR for last 22 years. The EPCA had successfully implemented certain measures such as relocation of polluting industries, switching over of public transport buses from diesel to CNG and restriction of entry of polluting trucks in the Capital.

India plans to promote green tourism during G20 presidency

India plans to promote green tourism, open up to 50 new tourism destinations, and launch a publicity campaign in overseas markets during its presidency of the this year, officials said.

India will host more than 200 G20 meetings at over 50 locations during the year, including key tourist attractions in Rajasthan, Goa, and Jammu & Kashmir, as well as near thearchaeological site of Dholavira in Gujaratand other historical monuments, officials said.

The government is pushing green initiatives to promote responsible tourism in the country and authorities plan to ensure small businesses have the Resources for green investments and to create local jobs.

The government estimates that foreign tourist numbers could reach 15 million in 2024, contributing more than $30 billion in earnings.

Tourist inflows had fallen to close to seven million in 2021, based on Industry estimates, from 11 million in 2019.

India has already added new Airports, and provided online visa facilities for tourists from about 160 countries. The government also allows foreign investors to invest 100% in tourism related businesses.

India signs MoU with Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Joint Business Council

India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Joint Business Council (IMT-GT JBC), Malaysia to further promote the adoption of Energy Efficiency and sustainable practices in the region.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, signed the (MoU) with the IMT-GT JBC Malaysia coinciding with the India Energy Week celebrations. The next meeting of the working group will be held in Gujarat.

The India Press Freedom Report, 2021, was recently released by the Rights and Risks Analysis Group.

The Rights and Risks Analysis Group recently released the India Press Freedom Report 2021. Consistent with the report, 13 media houses and newspapers were targeted, 108 journalists were attacked, and 6 were killed.

Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Tripura topped the States and Union Territories list where journalists and media houses were targeted in 2021.

Twenty-four journalists were attacked physically, obstructed, threatened, and harassed for doing their work. Public officials made these attacks.

This includes Police attacks also. Seventeen of those attacks were police attacks. 44 FIRs were registered against journalists in 2021. Of this, 21 were registered under Section 153 of IPC.

The Chauri Chaura Incident- 100 Years

The 100th anniversary of the Chauri Chaura event was recently commemorated in India.

Chauri Chaura is a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur district. Due to Chauri Chaura, Mahatma Gandhiji called a halt to the non-cooperation movement.

On February 4, 1922, the incident occurred. The volunteers of the Non-Cooperation Movement marched to a local Police station on February 4, 1922.

Foundation Stone Laid For Worlds Third-Largest Cricket Stadium

The foundation stone for the world’s third-largest cricket stadium was laid by Sourav Ganguly.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia is the second-largest stadium, with a capacity of 1,00,024 spectators.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Hyderabad) has released a beta version of ‘Swarajability,’ India’s first AI-based job platform for disabled people.
