Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Domestic Airport is situated in Leh district of Ladakh union territory. It is the only airport in Ladakh and is the second-highest airport in India after Daulat Beg Oldi Airport. The airport is named after Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, a Ladakhi Buddhist leader who was the first Indian to be enthroned as a tulku by the Dalai Lama. The airport is located at an altitude of 3,250 meters (10,663 feet) above sea level and has a single runway that is 2,500 meters (8,202 feet) long. The airport is served by Air India, Go First, and SpiceJet.
