Haryanvi is a Western Hindi language spoken in the Indian state of Haryana and the adjoining areas of Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. It is closely related to Punjabi, Rajasthani, and Braj Bhasha.
Haryanvi shares many similarities with Punjabi, including vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. For example, the word for “water” is pani in both languages. Haryanvi also shares some similarities with Rajasthani, such as the use of the vocative case. For example, the word for “mother” is ma in Haryanvi and Rajasthani. Haryanvi also shares some similarities with Braj Bhasha, such as the use of the retroflex t sound. For example, the word for “house” is ghar in Haryanvi and Braj Bhasha.
