Experts suggested making extensive use of bamboo in the northeastern states to fight the impending threat ofclimate changebesides adopting a carbon-neutral lifestyle and Climate-resilient behaviour while addressing the first Northeastern Regional Sustainability dialogue at Tripura University.
The organising committee member of Global Sustainability Summit-23, Jayanta Choudhury, said the meet was hosted with the different stakeholders of northeastern states, including post-graduate students of different universities here as a pre-event brainstorming ahead of the global meet scheduled on June 14-17 in New Delhi.
“The NE has huge potential to contribute to the of our country, but it remains unexplored. With the support of the Indian Institute of Sustainable Development & Carbon Minus India, we could host the first dialogue at Tripura University, and the major points of discussion and highlights would be presented at the Global Summit where all the policymakers will join,” Choudhury said.
