The kingdom has an elevated range of forest fires due to Slash and burns or shifting cultivation, burning farm residues, a series of non-timber wooded areas, and clearance of land for different purposes.
At least 60% of Indian districts are affected by woodland fires. The states in the North East account for the most significant share of furnace detections.
Central India is the most prominent place affected by wooded area fires. Forest Survey of India, 2019 – The Survey divided the wooded area fireplace susceptible into the following zones:
Extremely fire-prone areas accounted for 3.89% of complete woodland cover
Very-quite fire-prone areas accounted for 6.01%
Highly fireplace susceptible areas: 11.50%
Together these three classes add up to 21.4% of wooded area cover.
