Punjab Cabinet nod to amend coop audit service rules

Keeping in view the larger interest of employees and the administrative need of the Cooperation Department to ensure efficiency in its functioning, the Punjab Cabinet today approved amendment to the Punjab Cooperative Audit (Group-B) Service Rules, 2016.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by CM Charanjit Singh Channi.

The amendment to the provisions due to the restructuring of the department would provide for direct/promotional avenues to the posts of audit officer, superintendent grade 2, senior auditor, inspector audit and senior assistant. After the approval of the officer committee, the restructuring of the department was approved during a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020, in which the posts of inspector were reduced from 774 to 654, while those of senior auditor were increased from 32 to 107.

PM Modi dedicates projects worth Rs 11,581 cr to Himachal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said it has benefited the people of Himachal Pradesh to have a double-engine government in the state and at the Centre as the speed of development projects and the implementation of different schemes have got momentum.

Addressing a rally at the Paddal ground to mark four years of the Jai Ram Thakur-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state, he underscored the advantages of a double-engine government. With less than a year to go for the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls, Modi said the people of the hill state have benefitted a lot over the last four years as various welfare schemes launched by the Centre were implemented in a more efficient manner by the Thakur Government.

The Prime Minister said that he also an emotional bonding with Himachal Pradesh and congratulated the State Government for completing four years of its eventful tenure. He said that this double engine Government has ensured that the pace of development goes uninterrupted during the pandemic. He also appreciated the efforts made by the State Government for effectively controlling the Covid-19 pandemic, adding that the vaccine coverage of cent percent eligible Population in the State was the result of dedicated and committed efforts of the State Government. He said that the State got Aiims, Atal Tunnel and four Medical Colleges during the tenure of the present Government.

Defence minister inaugurates 3 bridges in Ukhand

Union DEFENCE minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated 24 bridges and three roads built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in four states and two union territories on Tuesday. These include three bridges in Uttarakhand. Singh inaugurated the Ghasku bridge linking Tawaghat and Ghatiyabagad, Gaurigad bridge linking Jauljibi and Munsyari, and Badamgad bridge linking Semli and Gwaldam.

Speaking on the occasion the Defence minister said that the roads, tunnels and bridges made by the BRO have considerably reduced the distance and time taken to travel between locations. He said that those in the border areas are also closed to Delhi, adding that the centre has focused on the developmental needs of the border areas. He said that work on and through it on Education, Health, POVERTY-alleviation”>Poverty Alleviation and other aspects is underway in the nation with the BRO also contributing to this. In the face of challenges like sub-zero temperature and high altitude, the patience and dedication of BRO personnel has achieved historic works, he said. Roads in border regions are important not only from the strategic view but also ensure the participation of remote areas in the development of the nation, said Singh. He said that BRO cafes will be established at 75 places in border regions as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the bridges and roads built by BRO fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modis dream of self reliant India. The residents of the border regions of Uttarakhand will benefit from the infrastructure, he added.

CM: Ayodhya to soon be connected with waterways

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after the proposed world class airport, Ayodhya town would soon be connected with waterways.

After laying the foundation stone of the Government Ayurvedic College, 500 Health wellness centres and 50-bed AYUSH hospitals in six districts at a function in Ayodhya on Friday, Yogi declared, “No efforts will be spared to present Ayodhya as a world class destination with modern amenities and global connectivity. New Ayodhya will have the best roads, air, rail and waterways connectivity soon and efforts will be made to connect the historic town with waterways leading to other river side cities. This project will be implemented through the Central government. Also, work is underway to connect all Ayurvedic colleges of the state with Ayurvedic University in Gorakhpur.”

In a scathing attack on the previous Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, the chief minister in obvious reference to firing on the karsevaks in 1990, said, There was a pressing need of the government of Ram bhakts to bring ‘Ram Rajya’ in the true sense. People do not want a government that fires bullets at Ram bhakts.”

New schemes, development projects rain in

On the completion of two years of JMM-Congress-RJD in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren gifted the people of the State with schemes and development projects in the tune of Rs 17,222.02 crore in a glittering anniversary celebration function at the historic Morhabadi Ground of the State Capital.

In a move to give relief to people, especially to those belonging to the lower income group of the State, the CM announced Rs 25 per litre cash back on purchase of petrol for ration card holders of

the State. However, the cash back can be availed upto purchase of 10 litres of petrol every month and the subsidy amount will be transferred to the beneficiarys bank account through DBT.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to implement the Students Credit Card scheme and said that soon they would get the benefit of this scheme. Lack of Money will never become a hindrance to them for their Education. He said Jharkhand is a product of the State movement. Many people gave their martyrdom in the movement for this State. Our Government is giving pension to such agitators and their dependents with respect. Now they will get 5 per cent horizontal reservation in Government jobs.

The CM said 100 per cent Scholarship is being given to Scheduled Tribe students for higher education abroad. This year, under this scheme, six students have been selected to study abroad. Now the State Government is also working towards expanding the scope of this scholarship scheme. Promising students of other classes will also be linked to the scholarship scheme for higher education abroad.

The CM said there has been a demand for the implementation of Old Pension Scheme for a long time by the employees of the State Government. The Government is considering their demand and a legal decision will be taken soon.

Bihar govt to soon start sterilisation of nilgais

The forest department of Bihar government has decided to sterilise nilgais in the state.

The decision was taken after large number of complaints were received from the farmers against the damages caused by nilgais in different parts of the state.

Confirming the development, state Forest Minister Neeraj Kumar Babloo said, “We have directed the veterinary doctors to prepare a plan along with officials of the forest department to sterilise nilgais in the state.”

As per the plan, forest officials will make arrangements for capturing nilgais from the agricultural fields under their respective jurisdictions, following which veterinary doctors will sterilise them on the spot and release them in the nearby forests,” Babloo said.

Nilgais are found in large numbers in the Seemanchal districts like Kishanganj, Purnea, Araria, Katihar, and Madhepura. They are also visible in North Bihar, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Sitamarhi and Sheohar.

Cgarhs Vaidyas to share knowledge with MP varsity

Experts from the Traditional Vanaushadhi Skilled Vaidya Sangh in Chhattisgarh will provide guidance and cooperation in running the country’s first Centre of Studies in Indigenous Knowledge at Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.

A MoU has been signed between Vaidya Sangh and the University.

The Centre has been started in Sagar to provide the scientific validity of traditional knowledge-based medicinal system and conservation, promotion and development of rare and endangered species of forest medicinal Plants.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar have congratulated the Vaidya Sangh for the achievement.

Lok Swastha Parampara Samwardhan Abhiyaan Bharat, National Coordinator Vaidya, Nirmal Awasthi, said the Centre will operate with Central government assistance.

Vaidyas from tribal-dominated Kanker and Kondagaon areas possess information regarding successful treatment of lumps and oral cancer.

Bundelkhand set to witness dawn of development in 2022

The Ken-Betwa river linking project, the first of its kind, has set high expectations for a parched Bundelkhand region with experts and citizens touting it as a new dawn for the development of the region.

The project will provide water to the perennially-drought hit region, and bring in prosperity. Skill development, tourism, Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and allied industries are the centre of attention for the government.

The project worth Rs 44,605 crore will benefit Chhatarpur, Panna, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Damoh, Sagar, Datia, Shivpuri, Vidisha and Raisen districts of Madhya Pradesh. The project is expected to irrigate 10.62 lakh hectares of land, drinking water supply to about 62 lakh people, and generate 103 MW of hydropower and 27 MW of solar power. Another public-private PARTNERSHIP that would benefit Bundelkhand is the unearthing of diamonds in the region. The Bunder diamond project holds a promise to contribute more than Rs 28,000 crores to the government exchequer and economic activities of about Rs 40,000 crores in the region besides providing EMPLOYMENT opportunities to the locals.

Mudra loan NPAs swell by 48% in Gujarat

As micro-enterprises battle the aftershocks of the Covid-19 pandemic, gross non-performing assets (NPAs) or bad loans outstanding under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana increased 48% in Gujarat.

According to the latest report by the state-level bankers committee (SLBC), Gujarat, NPAs for Mudra loans stood at Rs 872.25 crore in absolute terms in the September quarter of 2021-22. NPAs went up from Rs 587.26 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2020-21, the report states.

During the September quarter of this year, the total outstanding of loans extended under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) stood at Rs 9,300.5 crore.
From April to November 2021, loans worth Rs 5,172.56 crore were extended under PMMY in Gujarat of which, Rs 3,083.34 crore was disbursed between August and November.
According to bankers, non-performing assets went up in Mudra loans as micro enterprises continued to battle aftershocks of Covid-19.

NCR area in Rajasthans two districts reduced by over 6.6k sqkm

The geographical size of theNational Capital Region(NCR) inRajasthanhas reduced roughly from the existing 13,446 sqkm to 6,777 sqkm as per the revised NCR boundaries.

The NCR includes areas from two districts of Alwar and Bharatpur. While in Alwar, NCR land has reduced from 8,380 sqkm to 4,705.19 sqkm, in Bharatpur, the area has fallen from 5,066 sqkm to 2,071.41 sqkm. According to an official, the Draft Regional Plan 2041 has been put in public domain and suggestions or objections have been invited until January 7.

The plan will be notified by March 2022. The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) has given its in-principle approval to the Draft Regional Plan 2041 at a meeting held on October 12 this year. In Rajasthan, the total NCR area in the two districts will be 6,777 sqkm, he said. The NCR area will be reduced to a 100km radius, according to the draft approved by the NCRPB.

The NCR delineation consensus was given on the principle of making the geographical size as a contiguous circular region of 100km radius from Rajghat.
