Himachal signs MoU for integrating data of all govt departments under one portal

The Himachal Pradesh government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian School of Business (ISB) on Thursday to integrate data of all government departments under a common platform, ”Him Data Portal”.

The MoU was signed by IT Secretary Abhishek Jain on behalf of the and ISB Executive Director Ashwini Chhatre in the presence of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

The chief minister said ISB would collaborate with the Department of Information Technology as a research and technical support partner for building an open-source ”Him Data Portal” that would enable visualization of multiple data sets through advanced analytics and identity-access-management-controlled dashboards and reports to support the state’s policy-making and Governance.

He said it would strengthen the state’s benefit delivery systems through ”Him Pulse” which would support and enhance the capacity of ”Him Parivar” (all departments) in linking digital identity to the delivery of benefits to the targeted Population.

He said the Him Data Portal would bring valuable data from multiple domains together of various departments thereby helping in visualizing patterns, gaps, opportunities and connections cohesively which would result in strengthening efficiency in governance. A website for the same would also be developed.

Shahi expressed his interest in adopting Uttarakhand’s Marketing model to promote millets in Uttar Pradesh.

“Traditionally, Uttarakhand has been a hub for minor millets. The state has successfully developed an integrated system for the collection, packaging, and sale of millets, providing competitive rates to farmers. I am here with my marketing team to learn the intricacies of this marketing model so that we can adopt it in Uttar Pradesh as well,” said SP Shahi.

Uttarakhand has undertaken various initiatives to boost millet farming, including the inclusion of millet products in various government schemes. According to BVRC Purushottam, the secretary of the agriculture department, who was also present at the event, “Uttarakhand currently produces nearly 2 lakh metric tons of millets annually, and the agriculture department aims to increase production by 10% each year.”

Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojna scheme, the State Government has set a target of helping 1.25 lakh Women become ‘lakhpati’ (millionaires) by 2025 by involving them in direct procurement of raw millets from farmers and supplying them to the government.

UP govt announces hike inamount for mid-day meal

In an attempt to provide nutritious food to students in the state-run schools, the has announced an increase in the amount for mid-day meals served to children in primary schools. The revised rates will be applicable with effect from April 1, 2023.

According to the Mid-Day Meal Authority, the cost of cooked meals served to children in primary schools has been increased to Rs 5.45 per student per day from the earlier Rs 4.97.

Similarly, for upper primary schools, the cost has been increased to Rs 8.17 per student per day from Rs 7.45 per student.

Thus, the revised rates are 48 paise more per student per day for primary students and 72 paise more per student per day for juniors.

All the district magistrates have been informed about the revised rates by the authority.

On the face of it, the increase looks marginal but when it is looked at in totality, it is enough to add some nutritious grain to the meal, a senior official of the Basic Shiksha Parishad said here on Tuesday.

However, there is uncertainty in some districts regarding the date of implementation of the new rates as they have raised concerns about the order issued by the Basic Shiksha Adhikari and are seeking clarification on the same.

Director of School Education Vijay Kiran Anand said that a meeting with the government would be held soon regarding the revised rates, and a decision would be taken.

It is noteworthy that the department is also planning to include more grains to the mid-day meal scheme, and a decision on this is expected to be taken soon.

Covid period schemes helping curb migration by providing employment

The notified schemes started during the Covid-19 period on the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren are now yielding pleasant results. Due to this, at one hand Migration has reduced; on the other hand, the youth are now becoming self-sufficient by doing fish farming. This is the reason that about 23 thousand tonnes more fish was produced in the state in the financial year 2022-23. The youth here, who had the intention of migrating due to Unemployment in the past, were encouraged and benefited from the technology operated on 40 to 60% grant under the scheme notified during the Covid-19 disaster under the aegis of the District Office, as a result today all Earning a better living by staying in their area.

It is not that the government is giving priority to fish production in Chaibasa only through biofloc method. Rather, people are becoming self-sufficient by doing fish farming in 06 reservoirs and 02 mine ponds. Not only fish farming is done in these reservoirs, but from the point of view of tourism, motor boats/pedal boats were given to fisheries societies so that they can earn good income from cage method as well as from tourism. Modi Reservoir in Sadar Block, Jainasai Reservoir in Chakradharpur Block, Nakti Reservoir in Bandgaon Block, Pansua Reservoir in Sonua Block, Belma Reservoir in Manjhgaon Block, Torlo Reservoir in Manjhari Block and other reservoirs of the district, now local people are benefited from fishing and tourism.

Action plan ready to curb air pollution in Bihar

In a bid to protect people from the hazards of Air Pollution, the Bihar StatePollutionControl Board (BSPCB), in collaboration with the , will launch a five-year state action plan next month.
Track the pollution level in your city

The move is aimed at curbing air pollution in all the districts of the state. The BSPCB has collaborated with the World Bank, state departments, and Urban Local Bodies to execute the action plan.

To determine the extent of pollution coming from rural areas, the BSPCB collaborated with IIT-Kanpur in March to install low-cost sensors in all 534 blocks in the state. Three stations have already been installed and are operational, and we expect all 534 sensors to be ready by the monsoon season, Ghosh added.

Amid rising concerns over the deteriorating air quality in the state, the BSPCB is taking several measures to control air pollution. The board has initiated a plan to convert brick kilns to cleaner technology, which is less carbon-emitting. Out of 6,000 brick kilns in the state, 4,000 have already been converted into cleaner technology, and the board is no longer issuing licences to the brick kilns using old technology.

Women empowerment will strengthen Cgarh: Baghel

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday said Women Empowerment through livelihood centres in Gauthans will also strengthen Chhattisgarh.

A shed worth Rs 71.91 lakhs has been built as part of the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park scheme to ensure livelihood for people in rural areas. Women’s self-help groups are run various income-generating activities in the Gauthan.

The Gauthan has a unit for to produce paint from cow dung. The Chanchal Women’s Self-Help Group is operating it. So far, they have produced 1,200 liters of cow dung paint, of which 300 liters have been sold generating an income of Rs 67,500.

In addition, the women’s group has purchased 730.68 quintals of cow dung for organic manure production. This has resulted in an income of Rs 2.72 lakh for the group.

The Mahamaya Kisan Abhiruchi Women’s Self-Help Group has produced 35.24 quintals of vermicompost at the Hanchalpur Gauthan, leading to a profit of Rs 5,51,000.

In addition, mushroom cultivation, goat farming, farming, sale of eggs and fish farming are being carried out here, making women financially stronger.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan released the “Mela Panchang Year 2023-24” developed by the Madhya Pradesh Pilgrimage and Fair Authority at Samatva Bhavan. Rajasthan govt approves Rs 15 crore for JJM connections this fiscal

In an executive committee meeting of theState Water and Sanitation Mission, the government has sanctioned more than Rs 15 crore for works related toJal Jeevan MissioninRajasthanfor this fiscal.

In the meeting, it was planned to provide 26.40 lakh water connections this financial year and another 23.40 new connections in the next.

In the meeting chaired by additional chief secretary Subodh Agarwal it was announced that the National Jal Jeevan Mission has approved Rs 474.06 crores for support activities. Accordingly, has approved District Action Plans (DAP) for all the 33 districts of the state.
So, far the state government has spent Rs 14,579 crore under the JJM and, till April 26, has provided connections to 40.44 lakhs connections to rural Rajasthan under the Har Ghar Jal scheme.

In the previous fiscal, Hanumangarh has topped the list ofJJM connections, where 59% connection had already been provided. While Banswara was the least performing district with only 14% connections so far.

TheMumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP)is a Rs 12,721-crore initiative by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to link Marine Drive to theBandra-Worli Sea Link. The most significant feature of the project is the construction ofIndias first undersea tunnel, which is set to open by November 2023. The 2.07-kilometer twin tunnels run 17-20 meters below sea level, connecting Girgaon to Priyadarshini Park via the Arabian Sea, Girgaon Chowpatty, and Malabar Hill.

The construction of the twin tunnels involved cutting through complex geological strata using a massive Chinese Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and a team of 35 men. The TBM, named Mavala, is the largest ever used in India, weighing over 1,700 tonnes and standing about 12 meters tall. It was manufactured by the China RAILWAY Construction Heavy Company Ltd (CRCHI) and was assembled and launched a year ago.
