Haryana bags top spot in Citizen Centric Governance Index 2021

Haryana secured the top spot in Governance“>Citizen Centric Governance Sector Ranking 2021 as the state topped the Group A category by securing a collective score of 0.914 in Citizen Centric Governance and 4 indicators. The Citizen Centric Governance indicator focused on outcomes like Right To Service Act, grievance redress mechanism and the progress made by the state governments in providing the Services online.

The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah released the Index-2021 on the occasion of Good Governance Day at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This index has been prepared by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).

According to a statement, Haryana proved its mettle in various IT driven initiatives in the state which are not only bringing positive results but also ensuring the state moves towards good governance with the help of e-governance.

Now, people can avail the benefits of government schemes from the comfort of their homes through one click. In Haryana, a system has been developed under which people do not have to make frequent visits to headquarters or to district offices to get their work done. Now, people can take advantage of all the government schemes at nearest community service centres in their villages or online.

Apart from this, Haryana has been a leader among the Fastest Growing States in the Sustainable Development Goals Index (SDG Index) 2020-21.

Punjab: PM Modi to lay stone for PGI satellite centre in Ferozepur

Prime MinisterNarendra Modiwill lay the foundation stone of thePGIsatellite centre inFerozepuron January 5. The 100-bed centre, which shall have OPDs and other multispeciality Services, will come up on 25 acre land. This will be the first satellite centre of the PGI whose foundation stone is being laid by the PM.

This will be the PMs first visit toPunjabahead of the Punjab and after the repeal of farm laws.

Sources said the Rs 450-crore project was announced by the UPA government in 2014. Bazidpur village gram panchayat in Feroze-pur had filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, challenging the transfer of village land for the satellite project. The plea was dismissed by the court in May this year.

Himachal to send 5 lakh trout eggs to Sikkim for rearing

The state is all set to send the first consignment of 5-lakh trout eggs to . The eggs would be collected from Barahat and Hamni hatcheries in Kullu district, Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Varinder Kanwar today said. The farming of trout, the high-altitude cold water fish, has been gradually picking up pace in the state.

The Animal Husbandry Department is producing 17-lakh eggs of trout fish at Patlikul, Barahat, Masndal, Holi, Barot, Sangla and Dhammari hatcheries, he said. The department stocks 80,000 to 1-lakh eggs of brown trout seed at cold water reservoirs and efforts are on to encourage farmers to adopt trout farming in a big way, he said.

The Indo-Norwegian trout farming project was started in the state for commercial production of trout and pilot projects were launched in high altitude areas. To encourage the private sector, incentives are being given due to which 15 trout hatcheries were set up by private players in 2017-18 and 12 in 2018-19. As many as 32 hatcheries have been established in the state. These include nine each in Mandi and Kullu districts, five in Chamba, three in Kinnaur and two each in Shimla, Kangra and Sirmaur.

These hatcheries were set up at the cost of Rs 8.75 crore and a target has been set to establish five new hatcheries in Sirmaur, Chamba, Kinnaur and Mandi districts during the current financial year at the cost of Rs 2.50 crore and subsidy component of Rs 1.40 crore, the minister said. A target to produce 632 metric tonne of trout fish has been fixed for the current year.

Govt committed to increase employment opportunities CM Dhami

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said the is committed to increase EMPLOYMENT and create self employment opportunities in Uttarakhand.

The government has increased the upper age limit in the recruitment examinations by one year and has exempted the application fees for the applicants. The CM was addressing the youth in the Employment Fair in Haldwani on Tuesday. He said that the youth should take Leadership roles in every sector and said that such fairs are providing employment opportunities. The CM said that there are 3700 registered Home stays in the state which are giving employment to 8000 youngsters.

He said that after a long time the state government has started a process to recruit 1764 posts in the Police department. The CM said that the state government is providing a sum of Rs 50,000 to the youngsters preparing for the civil Services, Union Public Service Commision(UPSC) and MBBS examinations. He said that the government is committed to promote vocal for local and the Self Help Groups are being encouraged for it.

The fair was jointly inaugurated by CM Dhami, the parliamentary affairs and urban development minister Banshi Dhar Bhagat and Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat.

Underground ‘palace’ of Naga kingdom excavated in Jharkhand, could yield many secrets

A multi-storeyed underground palace, of immense historical importance, has been found during excavations by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at Navratangarh in Gumla district in Jharkhand.

The structure is believed to be around five and a half centuries old and date to the Naga or Nagavanshi dynasty.

The excavations being carried out by the ASI in and around the palace have yielded many important ancient remains. The department will carry out further studies to unravel the mysteries behind it.

Navratnagarh was declared as a heritage site in 2009 for conservation.

Durjan Sal ruled the kingdom for the longest. According to the evidence found so far, he had built the fort here in 1571. It is said that this fort was of 9 storeys, so it was given the name of Navratangarh. The ruins of this fort have been there for years and have been an object of curiosity for local tourists, as well as archaeologists and historians.

After the excavations started this month, for the first time, it was known that the king had built a grand underground palace as well. The legend is that the king built the palace to protect against any attack by the Mughal rulers. A secret tunnel passage has also been found in this underground palace, whose excavation is still going on.

On the basis of the structure, it is being speculated that there must have been a secret place to house his treasure of diamonds and other jewels.

Drones to be used to check illegal liquor trade in Bihar

Drones will now keep tabs on illegal brewing, smuggling ofliquorand those engaged in sourcing alcohol illegally in inaccessible areas such as diara, small hamlets, forests, remote and hilly areas of the state. To start with, a high-tech drone will be used from January next year to ensure strict implementation of liquor in the state.

The prohibition, excise and registration department on Saturday conducted a trial run of drones in Digha riverine area by engaging three agencies.

Monitor district level SDG goals

Chhattisgarh State Vice Chairman Ajay Singh emphasized the need to regularly monitor the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at district level. The UN had set 17 SDGs to ensure sustainable development.

To monitor, a state-level steering committee under the Chief Minister, a state-level SDG implementation and monitoring Committee under the Chief Secretary and a district-level SDG implementation and monitoring committee under Collectors have been constituted.

A total of 83 indicators related to social, economic, environmental and other aspects have been included in the framework, he said.

NITI Aayog on a regular basis releases SDG Index in which all the states are ranked against each SDG. Chhattisgarh has been given the 19th rank in a recently released index.

CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan takes Madhya Pradeshs fertiliser concern to Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Union Minister for Health, Chemicals and Fertilisers,Mansukh Mandaviyaon Monday during his visit to Delhi and talked to him over supply of urea to MP in proportion to the requirement of its farmers. He told the Union minister that he regularly reviews the situation of urea and fertiliser requirement in respective districts of the state and ensures their supply accordingly.

District collectors have also been directed to keep a watch over the situation. Mandaviya said that steps have been taken to ensure sufficient supply of fertilisers to MP.

Gujarat govt drafting a stringent bill to curb cattle menace

The urban development department is formulating a bill to effectively curb thecattle menacein urban areas of the state. Although the does not intend to bancattlealtogether in cities, it is expected to make punishment more stringent for cattle roaming on the streets.

The highlight of the new law will be that every cattle head in urban areas will have to be accounted for and owners will have to get a license for every cattle that they own.

The minister said that the new law will not entirely ban cattle in urban areas, but the punishment for leaving cattle on the roads will be made more stringent.
