The government was providing 600 units of free electricity to people in every cycle.Mannsaid for the first time, 86% households in Punjab had received zero electricity bill.

This move is a big relief for domestic consumers, who till now had to shell out hefty every month to pay power bills.Punjabishad never even dreamt that the electricity bill of their Home would come to zero, the CM said.
He added the move had also helped reduce power consumption as several families in the state had started using less power, so that they could avail 600 units of free electricity.

The State Government is also making efforts to make the government buildings of the state self-sufficient in terms of power. Solar Energy panels will be installed in all government buildings, which will reduce the burden of electricity bills on the government and will save a lot of money.

Himachal police go digital, switch to e-filing of FIRs, chargesheets

The state Police have completely switched over from the manual registration of FIRs to the digital mode. Even chargesheets are now being filed online.

A meeting of the State Apex Committee of the Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary.

The CCTNS data is being shared with the National Data Centre, New Delhi, for its integration with the national Database on a daily basis. Chargesheets of cases are also being filed electronically and are being shared with the courts.

The implementation of the CCTNS project was started in the state in 2009 with the signing of an MoU between the HP Government and the Central Government in September, 2009. At present, the CCTNS is successfully operational at 246 places, which includes police stations, offices of DSPs, SPs and higher offices.

The Hp Police have been awarded the first rank among the hilly and Northeastern states in the CCTNS two years in a row i.e. in 2020 and 2021. The state has also bagged the first rank overall at all-India level in the implementation of the Interoperable Criminal System.

The CCTNS is a Centre-funded mission-mode project initiated by the Union Home Ministry under the National e-Governance Plan. It aims to create a comprehensive and integrated e-system to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of policing, especially at the police station level.

Over 18,000 houses get nod for Uttarakhand under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – Gramin

The Centre has approved an additional 18,602 houses forUttarakhandunder the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – Gramin (PMAY-G). Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state was getting the benefits of “double engine” and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union rural development ministerGiriraj Singhfor approving the additional houses for the Himalayan state.

“The is trying its best to ensure that the development plans are implemented on the ground. We are making the required efforts to take the benefits of development to the people standing in the far flung and remote areas of Uttarakhand,” CM Dhami said.

UP govt announces conditional subsidies for upcoming firms

In his ongoing attempt to ensure EMPLOYMENT to the youth of Uttar Pradesh in industrial units being set up in different sectors in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced conditional subsidies for the investors.

The government has divided the into four categories, keeping in view the increase in industrial activities in UP, and has told the investors that they would get subsidies on various items if they provided employment to the youth as per their merits and the industry standards.

The Yogi government has recently brought a new Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2022 to provide new opportunities for investment and employment in the state. Under the new policy, the industry has been divided into four categories namely, large, mega, super mega and ultra mega, to increase investment in the state.

Jharkhand demands extension in GST compensation period

The Government of Jharkhand has demanded extension in Goods and Services Tax (GST) compensation period by five years and at the same time to clear the States outstanding dues of Rs 1.36 lakh crore with the Central Governments coal companies mainly subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL) largely against non-payment of land compensation.

The Minister also requested the Centre Government to provide an airport at Sahibganj where a multi-modal inland riverine port is being developed, besides reducing the contribution of the from 50:50 to 50:20 in construction of rail over bridges as the cost of the land is pay by the State Government. He said that in order to provide some relief to the farmers of the State, the Jharkhand Government also requested the Centre Government to process the request of the State Government to declare 226 Administrative Blocks as drought prone.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar opens bangle production unit run by JEEViKA workers

Chief ministerNitish Kumar inaugurated a bangle manufacturing factory run by JEEViKA didis at Sabalpur village in Patna district on the occasion of the Day. The distinctive feature of these bangles is that they are made of the fragments of seized liquor bottles.

According to sources, the prohibition, excise and registration department provided Rs 1 crore to theBiharRural Livelihoods Promotion Society, also known as JEEViKA, for setting up the bangle manufacturing factory. The unit has been set up under the supervision of technical experts from Firozabad, which is known for the quality of its bangles.

Govt launches national forest fire helpline

Nearly three years after being suggested byLok SabhaMPs to have such an alert mechanism, the Environment ministry has set up a national helpline forforest firecases in the country. The move will help forest officials to reach the spot faster and prevent the fires from spreading.

A toll free number (18001 19334) – assigned for the helpline – can also be used to report cases of illegal trade and poaching of animals.

As far as forest fire is concerned, nearly 36% (2,53,151 sq. km) of the forest cover in India is considered prone to forest fires. There are 26 most forest fire affected districts, spread over 11 states, in India. The forest fire season in the country is normally from November to June with the majority of it being caused due to man-made factors.

North-eastern states show the highest tendency of forest fire with Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur reporting highest forest fire Probability in terms of its frequency.

According to theForest Survey of India(FSI) that has been assisting state forest departments and other agencies to deal with the problem since 2004, parts of western Maharashtra, southern part of Chhattisgarh, central part of Odisha and few parts ofAndhra Pradesh, and Karnataka are showing patches of extremely and very highly fire prone zones.

18 crore tonnes of waste need to go to meet 2026 deadline

Cities and towns have a mammoth task of completing the remediation of around 18.2 crore tonnes of legacy municipal waste in the next four years to get rid of old dumpyards. The data put up on public domain by housing and urban affairs ministry on Monday indicates that so far around 4.3 crore tonnes of such waste out of the total 24.7 crore tonnes has been remediated by government agencies.
MaharashtraandTelanganahave remediated around 2.9 crore tonnes of the legacy waste, which accounts for nearly 67% of such waste treated so far across urban areas.

Even after that among all the states and UTs, Maharashtra has a maximum of nearly 4.2 crore tonnes of such legacy waste at dumpsites followed by Delhi with around 2.4 crore tonnes of waste at three sites. Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan andGujarathave more than 1 crore tonnes of such waste each. Only Ladakh has completed remediation of all of its legacy waste so far. The UT had only one legacy dumpsite with 1.3 lakh tonnes of such waste.
