Punjab Government on Wednesday launched SAANS (Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully) campaign to prevent and treat pneumonia amongst States children.

Launching the campaign, the State Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said: Mild, moderate and severe pneumonia in a Covid hit child can become an additional co-morbid condition to which he or she can succumb to death. Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of childhood mortality in the country and it contributes to approximately 15 percent of mortality.

Himachal Government has launched ‘Ayush Ghar-Dwar’ program to keep the home isolated Covid-19 positive patients healthy by practicing Yoga.

Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH Minister Dr Rajiv Saizal on Friday launched the program and also unveiled a booklet related to the program.

This program has been started by the Department of AYUSH in collaboration with the Art of Living organisation. Bharti’s instructors would provide their Services in the program. During the launch, about 80 Home isolated Covid positive patients from all over the state were also connected virtually.

Under the program, approximately 1000 virtual groups on Social Media platforms like zoom, WhatsApp and Google meet will be formed to connect with COVID positive patients in home isolation.

The initiative intends to provide a holistic healthcare approach through AYUSH to ensure not only physical but also mental, social and spiritual wellbeing.

Uttarakhand police kickstarts ‘Mission Housala’

Uttarakhand Police launched ‘Mission Housala’, which is a humanitarian initiative to help people in distress during the Covid second wave.

Under the initiative,policeare going beyond their call of duty and will conduct Home delivery of Oxygen cylinders, medicines as well as food for those who are infected with Covid-19 and unable to get any help.

Each police station will act as a nodal centre and action would be taken on each distress call received at the district control room or state level ‘112’ emergency number.

Agriculture key for self-reliant, digital India: Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar

The dream of a self-reliant and Digital India will only be realised by taking along the farm sector,AgricultureministerNarendra SinghTomar said.

Tomar was speaking during a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony of the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture ministry with four institutions, an official statement said.
These institutions are — Patanjali Organic Research Institute,Amazon Web Services(AWS), ESRI India Pvt Ltd, and Agribazar India Pvt. Ltd.

The MoUs have been signed with these organisations for pilot project of using Kisan Database asAadhaarwithin a period of one year.

The agreement with ESRI is for setting up and launching of ‘National Agriculture Geo Hub’.
The MoU with Amazon Web Services is for creation of digital services and innovation ecosystem linked with digital agriculture in the agricultural value chain.

The agreement with Agribazar is for collaborating withDepartment of Agriculturefor pilot project in three states (Uttar Pradesh,Madhya Pradesh,Rajasthan) to promote digital agriculture.

An MoU has been signed with Patanjali for agricultural management and farmer service in three districts (Haridwar- Uttarakhand, Hamirpur- Uttar Pradesh and Moraina- Madhya Pradesh).

Jharkhand plans unique IDs to weed out ghost farmers

The state Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture department has decided to provide a unique identification (UID) number to every farmer to ensure seamless transfer of benefits under agri-related schemes. But for the time being, the department has begun allotting seed tokens tofarmers. The tokens carry details of seeds distributed, land available with the farmer and his/her Aadhaar and mobile number, among others. In the coming months, the department will provide every farmer a digitised chip-based card along with their unique ID number that will carry all relevant information pertaining to the transactions between them and the government.

Bihar: Industries minister Shahnawaz Hussain launches 24×7 oxygen bank of BIA

The stateindustries minister,Shahnawaz Hussain, launched the 24x7oxygenbank of theBihar Industries Association(BIA).

Addressing the virtual workshop on Oxygen Production and Promotion Policy 2021 organised by the BIA, he said his department has been working closely with thehealth departmentto meet the increased demand for oxygen due to the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure an uninterrupted supply of oxygen at hospitals and the supply of liquid oxygen in the state.

The minister appreciated the BIA initiative to supply free oxygen to individuals for emergency purposes.BIA president Ram Lal Khetan said the oxygen will be supplied to individuals only when they deposit the security .

The Chief Minister Plantation Incentive Scheme, aimed at promoting agro-forestry in Chhattisgarh, will be implemented from June 1.

Diabetics form 59% of mucormycosis patients in Gujarat

Analysis of the mucormycosispatientsinGujaratcarried out by the state Health department revealed that 59% of the total patients were diabetics, whereas 22% were immuno-compromised and 15% had co-morbid conditions. The number of diabetics out of 658 patients atCivil Hospitalin Ahmedabad on the other hand was about 95%, said experts.

The released the analysis of the cases but did not reveal the numbers of total cases so far, or of deaths. The central government on Monday had declared 2,165 cases the highest in the country to be from Gujarat.
