Skill Innovative schools to come up in 10 districts of Haryana

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while chairing a high-level meeting on Wednesday accorded approval for the opening of innovative skill schools in 10 districts of the State that will be run by Shri Vishwakarma Skill University and will be recognized by CBSE in the category of innovation.

This decision has been taken while following the KG to PG model adopted for skill Education and as per the New Education Policy. In the meeting, the officials of the Skill development Department gave a detailed draft related to the Skill Innovative School and their utility for EMPLOYMENT. This innovative experiment will prove to be a milestone in Haryana’s school education.

In order to promote skill education at the school level in all districts, the Chief Minister directed to implement the model of skill education from KG to PG.

Notably, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University has opened the first innovative skill school and now more such schools will be opened across Haryana. These schools will play a key role in achieving the New Education Policy goals and imparting skill education from KG to PG.

Soon, people can check status of land digitally in Punjab

Punjab Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) department is all set to digitise the Khasra based Masteplans, which will enable common man to easily identify the status and nature of the land, besides, check the zoning of the land.

Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Aman Arora on Sunday directed the department officials to tie-up with Punjab Remote Sensing Centre (PRSC) team to further speed up this project to provide all the information pertaining to land on a click.

While reviewing the status of the project with the PRSC team, Arora said that with the implementation of the project, people will be able to identify their land online, besides, getting the information about the zoning plan of the area where the land falls. The initiative will also be helpful for people in applying Change of Land Use (CLU), besides, stirring the investments by enhancing transparency in the record maintenance mechanism, he said.

The H&UD Minister was apprised that a total 43 masterplans have already been notified. Out of the 43, work on khasra based digitization has been initiated for 22 masterplans. Under this project, masterplans are being superimposed on the cadastral map.Arora asked the PRSC team and the department officials to ensure that accuracy should be maintained by using the state-of-the-art latest technologies in the project.

Horticulture Dept releases Rs 1 cr to help growers fight dry conditions

The Department has released Rs 1 crore to its district office to help horticulturalists deal with dry conditions prevailing in the state. The state received 98 per cent less than normal rainfall in December.

Besides, the department has advised the growers that mulching should be done to retain moisture in the Soil. Plastic sheets and organic substances such as dry grass and straw, etc., can be used to preserve moisture, said the spokesperson.

Due to drought, the Plants become deficient in boron and calcium. The use of boric acid (0.1%) or calcium chloride (0.5%) are helpful in curing this deficiency.

Uttarakhand to follow Himachal Pradesh model for hydropower project

To set up newhydropower projectsand start the pending ones, theUttarakhand governmenthas decided to follow in the footsteps of neighbouring Himachal Pradesh (HP) as the state cabinet has approved a new policy on lines of HP’s model.

The new investors will now have to give Rs 1 lakh as development tax, which earlier was Rs 25 lakh. The new policy has also cleared the deck to hand over the pending projects to other companies. Under the project, the river bed material dug up for the project can be used to make the plant and permission has been provided to set up stone crushers.

According to the previous policy, the build, operate and transfer duration was for 40 years, out of which five years were for construction and 35 years for the operation. Now, according to the proposed amendment, the allocation would be for 40 years after the scheduled commercial operation date (SCOD). Owing to the objections raised by the court, several hydropower projects are yet to be started in Uttarakhand.

According to the new policy,UttarakhandPower Corporation Limited will purchase the electricity produced by the project up to 25MW on a tariff fixed by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

The policy defines the provisions for the state to come up with parking on government land, for people developing parking slots on private/government land and for the government using private land to develop parking.

Rs 19,265-cr MoUs signed with US, Canada investors

Having succeeded in presenting the progressive transformation of Uttar Pradesh before investors in the United States and Canada ahead of the Global Investors Summit (GIS), Team Yogi has not only received several proposals (letters of intent) in the state but has also signed MoUs worth Rs 19,265 crore.

The maximum investment in the MoUs signed so far is going to be in the Logistics, DEFENCE and aerospace sectors. Mobility Infrastructure Group will invest Rs 8,200 crore in this sector within the state. With this, about 100 EMPLOYMENT opportunities will be generated in the state. At the same time, QSTC Inc will also invest Rs 8200 crore in defence and aerospace. It will create about 200 employment opportunities.

MoUs worth Rs 2,055 crore were signed between the State Government and healthcare sector companies. Under this, My Health Center and ZMQ Companies will invest Rs 2,050 crore and Rs 5 crore, respectively, creating about 560 employment opportunities.

Jamshedpur gets its first Satellite Mobile Eye Clinic on Van

Jamshedpur Eye Hospital (JEH) kicked-off the New Year 2023 with the inauguration of its first Satellite Mobile Eye Clinic on Van as part of its larger community outreach programme to eliminate avoidable visual impairment among the local Population. JEH will also be starting its new Software-assisted Lazy Eye Therapy, in collaboration of Bynocs Solution, in which selected cases of adult amblyopia, a condition leading to loss or lack of development of clear vision in one or both eyes, to treat by a six-week software assisted Video Gaming Program.

The inauguration of the new programmes and facilities took place at a special event in the JEH complex. The event saw the presence of officials from the hospital, key members of the Rotary Club and officials from Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) and Tata Steel. The new Satellite Mobile Eye Clinic on Van is being launched in collaboration with Rotary Club of Jamshedpur & TSF.

Given the shortage of healthcare professionals especially the specialist-cadre and trained paramedics, JEH plans to establish itself as a TEACHING and Training Eye Centre to produce well-trained, efficient Ophthalmologists and Optometrists to serve the country and this region to reduce prevalence of blindness of India from 1.99% to 0.3%. JEH is already empanelled with Arka Jain University for providing one-year mandatory Internship training to the final year student of BSc. Optometry on a selection basis. The hospital also plans to start the post-graduate fellowship training programme in cataract and other sub-specialties as well as start post-graduate DNB Teaching in Ophthalmology soon.

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel urges PM Narendra Modi to release Rs 5,545 crore state share of GST, coal levy

Chhattisgarhchief ministerBhupesh Baghel met with Prime MinisterNarendra Modiin Delhi and urged him to release the states revenue share pending with the Centre in the form of Rs 1375 crore GST and Rs 4170 crore coal levy.
The chief minister also urged the Prime Minister to direct the SECL for an agreement with the states nodal agency for an uninterrupted supply of coal tolocal industrial unitsand to not cancel the passenger trains running through the state unless an alternative is there.
